Title: Runway 21 theory?
Post by: KillRideMasterJ on June 30, 2019, 12:36:09 pm
I’m thinking of a way to squeeze another nade off seeing as how the 22 is using 7 nades. My theory is once you leave the building through the conveyor and you switch to nades instead of only throwing the one in front of the door as you enter it, you exit the conveyor in right strafe chucking one at the door and throwing one ahead of that one before going through the door, grabbing the key etc.. please let me know what you think guys/gals

Wow, 0:20 might even be possible with this. Good find.

Obviously you have not seen Goose's video  on the subject

so you are suggesting we should throw more nades?
noone ever thought of that

Myself and Berg actually considered this a few weeks back when we were taking a look at 2.X double boosts.

With 2.X you just can't afford to throw the first grenade any later than during the first right turn onto the slide, because you need to start priming the 2nd grenade otherwise it won't explode. So changing to right strafe there doesn't really make that throw much less difficult (you can do it mid-turn in left strafe too), and the strafe change would lose more than 0.1. Also you are relying on a good bounce off of the wall since putting that grenade in the corner on the right of the door is actually a bad spot, ideally you want it on the left side of the door for a better boost.

Finally you have to do the hut in left strafe (else big time loss) so you would have to change back at the door. This might not lose more than like 0.05 (the door opening is a bit of a bottleneck) but it also prevents you from warping the door which I think can save 0.1. So compared to a safe single it wouldn't be worth it.

Obviously you have saved 10 minutes and 1 second of your life

so you are suggesting a potential way to throw more nades?
well thanks, that is exactly what we need

I do not believe in Runway 21 but am otherwise a decent guy

Is there a way to cook immediately, throw a nade at the door, throw another nade at the outside wall to the right of the door, boost yourself in and boost yourself out?

no time, you already have to prime the nade at the slide anyways which is pretty much 1 second into the run
since you are at the hut door like 3 seconds into the run, it wouldn't be able to explode no matter how early you prime

Yeah see the other thread:

Wherever you place the grenade it's impossible to avoid a back boost (or two) when exiting the hut. Also the earliest a primed grenade can explode is about 0.5s after you pick up the key (on TAS pace) so there's no chance of a boost before the key.

Key first, then (non-TAS) boosts
Edit: wait you are the same guy, why is this in another thread?

From my understanding of the game, the best possible line would be straight from the door straight to the very tippy tip of the plane with lockdown whenever possible, including entering the plane?

It would be straight from the wall in front of the hut door to the center of the circle that defines the plane's hitbox. Watch a 22.
