As a kid, I was really into Goldeneye 007 on the N64. After beating everything on 00 Agent, I wanted a new challenge.
So here's what I did. On 007 difficulty, I set enemy health to 0, and enemy damage, accuracy, and reaction speed to max. And then I tried to beat the Dam level, with all objectives, using ONLY grenades. I died a lot. But I didn't give up. It took me forever, but I eventually beat the level that way and it was a total thrill.
I've often thought back on this and wondered, contextually, how big of an achievement was it? This was before streaming and social media, so I basically just told my friends and then moved on. I've never gotten any real feedback on it.
So I'm curious if anyone here could replicate my results. And if so, I'd love to hear about your experience.

I discovered r-lean throwing grades on runway in early, early days and never told anyone except Greg Lewis because I thought it was useless. This was when people still used the tank for 00a. I was more interested in getting it to work for perfect dark, because we have the 'crouch stand up' throw used in crash site and infiltration. I wanted to throw the comms rider from much further away. I found it didn't work in PD, but did in GE. I never said anything because it's irrelevant, and didn't want to look like 'that guy'. Plus, there is more to a strategy than a technique itself - you have to think of how to use it to save time, which is what the real discoverer (Henrik? Disco?) did. But at least it amuses me personally that I found it, in some way.
That is my personal experience with grenades in GE.

He said he's using grenades. So probably infinite ammo + all guns + the restriction to not use anything but grenades

^ yeah. pretty sure an explosion blows the lock off...been a while since I played GE though so don't quote me.
To answer his question it sounds like a difficult challenge, especially if you did it way back in the day, like before the year 2000. It's gotta be harder than Dam on LTK because you can't shoot long distance. The part after the tunnel would be particularly difficult unless there's an easy method to strafe through that I'm unaware of.....and the tunnel at the end, damn..
On a scale of 1-10 for difficulty and achievement I would say it's a solid 8.5/10 man.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think Flickr is right about the settings I used enabling the self-imposed limit. It's been a while.. :)
