The facecam should be on whatever side in which the player's face is towards the gameplay on the stream layout.

Looks like I'm in the minority here thinking it should be on the right. Might ought to get my overlay redone.

This is true although with the magic of mirroring it doesn't matter all that much.

The large majority of streamers I watch put it on the left, although many of them also use a green screen and full screen game feed, and when doing that it would often depend on where it is most convienent to place without obscuring the game. This is the first time I've put more than a minute of thought into it and personally I dont see any objective difference. I think I personally lean towards left just due to influence.

JD is right though, if you use cam, make it so you're facing the game. Cheese should mirror his cam, for example.

Looks fine to me as long as the camera is flipped so it looks like you're watching the gameplay.

whichever way it is organised it looks most natural when the speedrunner is facing towards the gameplay area.
