Title: Favorite GE/PD Stream Moments?
Post by: JDBlack21 on August 02, 2019, 04:40:41 am
Twitch streaming has been a staple of The Elite for several years now, and many of the greatest records and other notable moments since 2012 have happened on stream. So today, I wanted to ask: What are YOUR personal favorite moments that you have witnessed in a GE/PD stream? I'll list 3 of my favorite below.

#3: Grav's Christmas 2017 Runway 00 stream
This was when I was just getting into the elite community and watching a lot of streams. I remember chilling in bed for almost the whole day, watching Grav attempt to untie 0:29. It was 7+ hours of pure bliss, chilling to his classic VGM playlist as well. My face lit up as wide as Grav's when I saw the TNS 0:29 near the end.

#2: Clemens' Investigation Special Agent 1:59
The zoom strat was discovered by Kevin earlier in the week, and the top PD players were mostly playing to lower the PA world record. But Clemens focused a lot of attention on SA with the initial goal of a sub 2. I, of course found my love for investigation during this time, and a lot of that inspiration came from Clemens' attempts. When Clemens made the lasers on what would be his 1:59, there was so much hype, and even more when Clemens pulled up True Faith and listened to it to end his run. No doubt my favorite moment from that gold rush, even though it was short lived as Whiteted discovered the corner zoom the next day.

#1: Marc Rutzou's Silo 59
I'm sure we all remember what we were doing when Marc duped his legendary 59. I remember him pulling up his stream for the first time in over a month, chilling with Timmy and playing for a 59 dupe. Watching the session I thought "Man, how legendary would it be if he got 59 again in this stream, with Timmy, who has some of the best popoffs in the Elite." But I didn't have to imagine much longer. About 45 minutes into the stream, Marc suddenly stopped playing and said "Are you guys ready to see the most legendary thing ever?" My heart started racing as they pulled up a video from earlier that day. Marc had a good run going. An insane door warp after the catwalk, clean 2nd room. "Let's fucking go" he says, as Timmy stops talking. Clean strafing, insane 3rd room. Perfect open door lure. Probably the best crates/pause I'd seen him do. "Let's fucking go!" Marc exclaims even louder. I'm really nervous now. Could it be the unforseen 59 dupe? Was it a troll? I was about to find out. Marc, unpauses, doesn't choke the stairs, warps, clean strafing past the guards, and to top it off, the absolutely INSANE WARP. I listen for the music cue, and jump up out of my seat when it's borderline 59 pace. And then, Marc unveils the 59 endscreen and insanity pursues.

Alright, enough of my stories, let's hear some of yours!

1. The Birdie vs. Glover SM64 16-star rivalry. They were both hilariously bad.
2. Spec 100% RTA streams:
3. Birdie's entire S1 102 grind:

Great thread

1. Kapap 2 premiere

2. G-Day 2016: seeing the whole community streaming their world record attempts was amazing to see. Here's a pic of what the streams list looked like at the start of G-Day: https://twitter.com/HuziDKC/status/690775882730987520

3. Clemens Aztec untied sweep grind

Honourable mentions:

4. Spec RTA streams. Spec Mixtape has a hilarious compilation of those streams + the video Ragequit linked:

Clemens getting Bunker 1 0:16 while we were all in voice chat and whatnot. I must still have the audio file of all of us exploding somewhere.

Our authentic reactions to any unhoard coming out of course.
