To be more specific, what time that you've achieved has let you know you're capable of anything you set your mind too? What time gives you motivation in your grinds, or just makes you feel great every time you see the run?
Very curious to see what people have to say :)

in jimbo's opinion it's bunker 2 00a 0:57
but for me, silo 1:01 when i achieved it as TWR, that's probably the one.. after getting through that grind i felt like i could go for, and get really good times.
i also remember getting s1 sa 149 while going for 150 and feeling like i was getting a handle on the game pretty fast ...

Facility SA 53 probably. I still feel I have more to prove though, actually achieving a Facility WR would help.

Invest PA 234 was a 3 day war that showed me I can fight thru anything the game can dish out

Mine was sometime in mid 2005. I played a fair bunch while lurking from 2002-2004 but had mostly mediocre times (Fac A 0:57, Depot 00A 1:08, Villa A 1:20, etc). I wasn't able to pull off certain tricks like making the second lift on Maian Agent (with PAL obviously, I didn't have NTSC until a few years later). I do remember being proud of beating the webmaster on certain levels, though. ;)
Then I got a pair of controllers in mid 2005, downloaded all of the latest PD videos and grinded a fair bit. Didn't take me long to get within a second or two of most of the PAL PD WRs. Granted they weren't as insane as the actual WRs but for only starting out, not putting it as much effort and understanding most of the nuances in PD levels, my times (and intuition for strats) were pretty good.
Then I naturally improved over time. I guess I had a second wave sometime in early 2006 when I cranked out GE & "caked" the Train WRs. Didn't feel much different from PD for me.

The "boring 4" times were breakthroughs when I came back to GE in 2016. "If everyone else can get it, why can't I?" was something I told myself over hours-long grinds, both optimistically and pessimistically lol. B1 17 was definitely the biggest breakthrough because it was my longest grind by far.
Back in the day (2002-2005), being 1 second off a WR was all I cared about (Dam 54, B1 18, Cavs 104, Archives 17). Streets 1:14 back in the day was the big breakthrough level for me.

Silo SA 1:11. Very early on in my career and still my current PR on the level. Made me prove to myself and others that if I can clutch that ending immediately after taking a dab in the pause, that I can achieve anything i try for, stoned or sober. :pimp:

Defection SA 0:21 was a big one for me. It was (at the time) a bop on one of my absolute heroes Boss. It also got me noticed by one of my other biggest heroes, Jezz, who made a rare appearance in Discord to congratulate me on it. Around that time Icy and Swiss also started to take notice of me and I helped Icy to get 0:23. Boss and I started talking a lot about the level shortly thereafter and brainstorming with him one-on-one was one of the coolest experiences I've had since I joined.
More recently, I think Crash Site 1:14 was a very big affirmation for me. It was the LSU when I joined and I remember how big of a deal it was when Karl tied it, and how highly he regarded the time. To be able to figure out the level so deeply and get such an insane decimal relatively quickly after finally "figuring out" everything was really reassuring in my skill at the game.

Investigation Agent 1:05. I got this only a few days after the zoom was discovered. Before the strat I had never played before, yet I rose quickly nearly to WR contention on the level. This was also when I was playing through amarec, so I was very proud of this time, I knew I would get WR on it at some point, which I did. It also raised my confidence playing everything else, as I hadn't achieved a "good" time to that point.

frigate sa 1:04, everyone told me not to mention it to jono lol and people kept @ing me, was a pretty epic day.

I never broke through :(

Train 00A 1:57 in 2008. My first win on Illu. I pretty much knew I could achieve a high rank after that.
-
Way back in summer 2003, despite being banned from the ranks the entire calendar year for being an annoying asshole on the boards, I grinded my way to Bunker 1 SA 0:25 which was a 95 point time back then (only losing to Karl and Wouter with 0:24). I got a lot of respect back then for that time, most notably from Greg Woll/Derek Clark who encouraged me to keep going after seeing the vid, and got me back on the ranks too.
Not too much longer after that, I went from Bunker 1 00A 1:15 to 1:09 in one fell swoop to slay a Bosshardt untied. I actually posted that stupid time in the PR topic instead of WR topic and Clark thought I was back to my lying/annoying ways. Once I sent him the video through dial up connection, the rest was history and 16 years later Boss and I are still in the top 10 (I know I know, not for much longer!)
Great stories, gents!

Statue 2:20 Sweep. I got Agent and SA in the same night and 00 Agent two days later. It felt nice being able to val strafe with 2.2.
