For those who are unaware, Fantasy League is a tournament hosted once every summer, usually from the end of May to the end of July, where teams of 5-6 players compete to accrue the MOST number of points in GE & PD by the end of the season. In addition to points gained by PRs, there are bonuses for playing certain levels & categories on certain days/weeks, incentivizing certain playing styles & strategies to maximize point gains. One member of each team is a manager, who can drop or add players on teams with certain conditions, e.g. changing a player only once a week, or changing players a maximum of 4 times throughout League. Here's a link to the spreadsheet of the latest Fantasy League that took place in the summer of 2019: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WZb67LUiQhZ1ijWSDKeQ21kxjLyqezT1_Pi8IM8E36Y
Having said that, one of the BIGGEST problems with League is hoarding. Again, for those who don't know what hoarding is: a bunch of mates pile up records & hide them in secrecy, usually for 6 - 12 months, only to later drop an masterful video revealing all of them along with stories, memes, etc., that go along with each player. Hoarding seems to be very common these days, and AT LEAST 4 unhoards have dropped this year (the latest of which was k4, which premiered yesterday).
Hoarding may jeopardize the accuracy of the team rankings & point totals in Fantasy League. This is not uncommon either - hoarding has happened during 2015 League (kapap 1), 2016 League (kapap 2), 2017 (kapap 3), and now 2019 ([k4]). While no one has done any calculations on if the actual point differences would change any ranks, the quality of records progressively improve, such as those in k4. Hoarding season is common in June/July, so it *might* be a good idea to shift Fantasy League to Dec/Jan to prevent this problem. What are your views?

Conclusion: [k4] had no impact on the final point standings for League 2019.
And yet it still managed to sap every possible ounce of fun out of it.
Also, the point is not that the times that were hoarded DURING league would affect the outcome, it's that we can't know the times that were POSTED during league weren't hoarded beforehand. It's possible that thousands of points by those teams were not actually achieved during league thus defeating the purpose. People who are openly hoarding should not be allowed to participate in league, simple as that. It makes a mockery of honest players and cheats us all out of a fair contest.

Sounds like a personal problem to me, mate.

If people want to tank their own team, that's their problem

People who are openly hoarding are being honest players, as honest as they can at least

If hoarding (and releasing during league) is really a problem then you could easily just introduce some pattern that you've got to draw in the endscreen. Announce the pattern at the start of league - simple.
But atleast personally I can't believe anyone would hoard for league, it would really just be petty.
Sandbagging seems like more of an issue, and the only solution is to have all times worth only 1 point except for Frigate 00. Then even if you sandbag you gotta grind the odds. :nesquik:

That's cool but it still doesn't solve the problem of hoarding a time and dropping it on the daily double. If that's even possible without requiring streaming. But you could even fake that too so I'm not sure if it's possible to fix.

Just have a rule where any of those K4 type videos whoarded times don't count for fantasy. (which happened anyway in this case, as the times were posted well after league ended)
I do realize this potentially is a bit of pain to implement manually for you guys who auto script it during league play.
I guess you're mad they could've gotten them for league but chose not to?

Yeah personally I think even having 1 pattern in the endscreen is probably too much, so an extra 1 per day would definitely be too much lol. Maybe you've got to stream to get a daily double? Even hoard-prevention aside that could be a cool policy actually.

i'd trade 100 leagues for 1 k4

This is an irrel subject, hoarding has already been banned from counting in league as reasonably as it can be policed. Hoarded time videos and known hoarded times do not count towards league totals. It is impossible to fully take hoarding for league out of the equation without requiring all times being streamed, which is both unreasonable and also cheatable(playing back vods). Furthermore, hoarding as a concept is impossible to ban, if you thought about it for more than five minutes you'd realize that. Stop forcing this bit its tired.

Now, as far as moving it to winter goes, we could always run a shorter one in the winter if interest was there. In fact, I wanted to workshop running a fun side league (such as LTK) in the winter due to the shorter length. Summer league itself imo is good where it is as most people really seem to enjoy the 2 month length as well as having more freedom to play over summer (theoretically).
