First wanted to say that, as a newer player, [k4] was a truly inspiring event to watch.  I was mostly silent in voice chat because it was kinda overwhelmed by the reactions of everyone and by the video itself.

I won’t go into top 10s, but I’ll point out some favorite moments for me.

Songs:  No need being coy, but Ricky’s section had some straight bangers—Easy Lover, Let it Happen, Roundabout (despite the meme), also big ups to the Rockstar Theme from Crystal Shards.

Runs: Maian SA UWR (despite me not knowing a single bit of PD running), Joris’s Control 2.4-1.2-2.4, Joris’s B1 16 and B2 23, and Wodahs’s S1 SA.

Skits:  THE INTERNETS BUSIEST SPEED RUNNER, and Wodahs leaning to play from Dab Master Butler.

Unexpected runner: THE king has returned.

Favorite runner:  Ricky and Joris.  You guys put on a real show.  Incredible.

Emotional moment:  Again—no need being coy, but hearing the Maian UWR reaction afterwards was incredible.  Wodahs becoming champ was incredible to watch, and the added epitaph of him staying with Kevin during his hospitalization that night was amazing.

It’s been two days and I haven’t really processed what I saw still. I don’t think “love letter” to the game and community really articulated what [k4] was.  It was more than that.  And what that is I’m not sure.  This was truly amazing.

This is the ideal hoard.

All previous led to it, yet I'm still excited to see where it will go from here.

You all have done an amazing thing for the community. <3

Spoiler
I'm begrudgingly jealous of the attention compared to PD, especially before the fact. But don't get me wrong, it is not undeserved.

That aside..

Favorite run - Frigate LTK
Favorite tune - So Far Away
Favorite moment - Inserted Tame Impala concert footage

Most Unexpected:
N/A as I was aware of the roster

-Favorite Runner:
In my mind, there's always a "star" of a hoard. That is to say, when a hoard is mentioned, who's the first person that comes to mind. Not necessarily who did the best runs or presentation, but who resonated in my mind. For my money, when I think of k4, one of the first things that will come to mind is Joris' set, specifically his phase distortion at the glass door on B2 because calling that a warp is very disrespectful. A masterclass

-Emotional Moment
3. TR flexing his muscle, claiming both personal white whales of an untied and Chicago 14

2. Dusky winning the war against Frigate LTK

1. Wodahs finally breaking the glass ceiling and claiming the crown, long live the king!

I figured I'd post my thoughts about my runs in the video, as well as some background of the video production. Hope the other guys feel welcome to do so as well!

Statue 00A 2:18 - This is a time I had grinded for in months prior to [k4], racking up 10 or so fails in mid-late 2018 so it felt great to get this monkey off my back. What sparked my interest back in the level around late march of this year was haydos casually dropping sa/00 2:19s in the [k4] discord, and I sensed I better act fast before he nailed the 2:18s. The run itself has an absurd 4:0 boost ratio with a VERY safe FR pickup, I was pretty nervous on the return. Only about 4 fails once I started playing again, so fairly reasonable.

Train SA 1:28 - I decided to try some train out in january or february of this year and ended up rapidly improving from the last time I had grinded any train. PAL would have been nice here, but I knew even with NTSC-J that I could cut my 1:33 at the time to something around 1:29 at least. I initially achieved both 1:32 and 1:31 on runs I felt weren't even close to my potential, and eventually broke through with a three second cut to 1:28. Some bad stucks in the first blue car costed an easy second or so but for secret agent the guards were being mostly friendly. I'm decently happy with this time, but at some point certainly plan to come back for lower & hopefully land on train leaderboards :smirk:

Dam SA 1:18 - In a random session of frigate play, I decided to test the waters on dam SA to see where my skill was at and VERY quickly failed a 1:18 with only 1 missed bullet on the second alarm, which would have been a skip from 1:20 and 0 1:19 fails at that point. It didn't take me too long after that to nail a quick 1:19, and one session later was able to nail the 1:18. I was a little annoyed that I wasn't able to skip from 1:20 fully knowing it was very possible, but was content with only achieving one 1:19 along the way and approximately 4-5 hours of play total. The 1:18 run was boostless and was very easily a 1:18, probably a low decimal.

Cradle A 0:33 - Played for this time on/off and had a 34.0 heart-breaker sometime in mid january which killed my motivation enough to leave 0:33 as a side-grind. Dsx had been streaming his cradle 0:33 attempts in late may, and after having the pleasure of watching his cradle 0:33 live, I decided to pickup the controller and try to implement another JHJH on the rankings, ala s1 agent. This worked out beautifully as one hour later I was gifted my cradle 0:33 with my second or third trev kill of the session. Happy with this one, and with s1 agent initials on the brink of disappearing, this will have the JHJH tradition live on for some time (until more degens play for 0:33 :kappa:)

Facility A 0:44 - Ricky and I were each playing facility agent in attempts for 0:44, and Ricky had the great idea of combining the runs into one that has bits and pieces from each of our runs, which turned out fantastic and as one of my favorite parts of my segment. My 0:44 run was extremely sloppy with some wobbly boosts in the labs & a half missed bottle-room door warp, but was barely able to eek out the 0:44. I thought it was certainly another 0:45 dupe, and was shocked to see that it was instead a 0:44 TNS. I had a lot of fun playing for this, and was really happy with my progress along the way only having spent about 15 hours in total from 0:49.

Train A 1:02 - This is a time I am proud to have, and didn't expect to get for the [k4] reveal. I initially lowered my time from 1:06 to 1:05 sometime in early 2019, but still felt like there was some room for improvement, and knew I wanted something better for the video. I had picked up train agent again during the summer and was able to dupe 1:05 plenty of times with badly choked locks. I had set a personal goal for myself of 1:03 for the video, and thought this was pretty much my maximum potential seeing how I was playing on NTSC-J and was struggling to break the 1:05 barrier. You could imagine my surprise when I not only skipped 1:04 AND 1:03, but also looking back and seeing I had missed a brake during the run costing me what felt like a full second. Definitely one of the best skips of my career, and hopefully will come back with PAL one day for 1:00 or lower!

Statue SA 2:18 - I got very lucky with this time, only having one 2:18 fail on secret agent in total before nailing this run. Much cleaner run than my 00 agent 2:18, with this run having a 2:0 boost ratio and a great FR pickup. Fun grind overall  :)

Frigate SA 0:59 - This one was tough to hold on to for so long, having achieved it close to a full year ago, but only revealing it in [k4] 10 days ago. I knew that I wanted to play for some sort of frigate secret agent PB for [k4] right when I was invited to join, and knew I had the possibility to skip to a sub-minute time as most of my fails were 1:00 or 0:59 pace. The 0:59 run almost flawless for such a troll level, up until the backboost coming out of the engine room, which unfortunately cost me the infamous 0:58. Even with the backboost, judging by the hands on the watch and the pace of the run it seemed the 0:59 ended up being a low decimal, and seeing A up on screen at the end of the run was one of the biggest rushes of adrenaline I have ever had in my lifetime. One of the best runs of my career, about 15-20 hours total from 1:02 and I can't be mad at such an incredible time... but I will definitely be playing for an improvement here for as long as it takes!

Surface 2 SA 0:54 - Clemens initially motivated me to play this a little when he stated on stream multiple times that 0:54 was impossible in 1.2 :nesquik: Surprisingly hard to pace for 1.2 and the 0:54 run is pretty much perfect. Was very happy with the fantano skit that dusky was able to make out of it.

I was able to achieve most of my goals, but a couple of the important ones eluded me, and I spent a large heap of time going for things like frigate 00A 1:04 before it was the WR and frigate A 0:22, racking up plenty of fails on each. Even so, I was extremely proud to reveal the times that I was able to achieve and was very content with how my segment & music choices of [k4] turned out in the final product.

I think the six of us went above and beyond what I had for expectations for the video, not only with our times but the entire production behind it. Couldn't have asked for a better group of guys to work with, and I want to give massive credit to harry & pauli as well. Although they didn't end up in the final product, they were a big reason I was so keen on [k4] to begin with and it wouldn't have been made without you guys. Thanks to Dusky, Wodahs, Joris, Haydos and Ricky for all the help putting this together and support along the way!

I'll recap my runs as well, just for more insider info. Overall i will just say. Good lord i got so much better at the two games when i started. When i first started playing i could barely get Facility 0:45 and 6-7 months later i would achieve my first untied. I'm pretty happy with how much my skill has improved at PD and it goes to show that if you put in the work you'll get somewhere.

WAR Agent 0:25 - It was very clear that when i was playing WAR! at MOAM i was improving at a really fast rate. It was one of the most fun levels i had ever played at the time. So when i got home i just wanted to play more. I played for about 15-20 hours after getting home and i got one of the best decimals on the ranks where the king got shot at 23.58. Definitely a really good time for my skill level considering i had only been playing PD for about 3 months until then.

Facility Agent 0:44 - Later in January i knew i liked Facility a lot and i had 0:46 on the ranks. So i went for 0:45 and achieved it after about 20 hours or so. I was in VC with Dusky when this happened and he was really stoked for me. Like frost mentioned, we wanted to combine the 0:45s but both of us knew we could get 0:44, so sometime in April i wanted to go for 0:44 because i felt like i was finally good enough to get it. I, too felt like my 0:44 was barely it. Some very glaring mistakes but i really enjoyed the grind for this one. Probably about 20 hours.

Chicago Special Agent 0:25 - This was actually one of the first things i set out to get in the hoard and if you look at my PR comment for 0:26 you can clearly see that i intended to hoard 0:26 but posted it because i wanted 0:25. This was achieved during a complete degenerate session of.. 11 hours. At the very end i ended up getting it and Dusky, Sammy and Jono were all in vc cheering for me when i finally got it. It was a great moment. About 25 hours for this one

Chicago Perfect 0:26 - After being burnt out on Chicago SA i took exactly 1 day off (lol) and started playing again for PA 0:26. I got extremely lucky and caked it in the spand of 1 hour since getting 0:28 sometime in 2018. I was just hanging out with Jono in VC and he was doing something and i was just sort of warming up, but i got it almost immediately. Pretty fortunate on a really troll level.

Chicago Agent 0:14 - Boy this one. Achieving this time was one of the craziest adreneline rushes i've ever had out of any run in my life and i've been speedrunning for some years now. I literally could not calm down for the next 7 hours or so and i achieved it at a really bad hour during the night so i definitely woke up the neighbours. I ended up suffering really hard for the next 2 days since (probably) so much dopamine was released in my brain that i just fell flat to my feet and was depressed for 2 days straight. I remember talking to JD and IronStac in vc at some point about how i felt like i was getting nowhere in life, but i didn't tell them that part of the reasoning as to why i was feeling like shit was because the rush achieving 0:14 was too much for me to handle. I seriously can't believe i got SA 0:25, PA 0:26 and A 0:14 all in 6 days as a player who had been playing for like 5 months at that point. I just got extremely lucky and i'm glad that time is over. Definitely to this day one of my best speedruns ever. Special thanks to Joris for believing in me on this one. About 80-100 hours for sure playing this.

Runway Secret Agent 0:22 - Yet another very degenerate grind, where i played for 6-8 hours almost every day for a week. Culminating in i think 9 Battery fail 0:22s. I would always be on a different part of the runway every 0:22 pace but finally the pieces lined up and i got 0:22 after about 35 hours.

Crash Site Agent 1:14 - During MOAM i knew i liked Crash Site enough to have it in the hoard and i got 1:17 in January but in March i wanted to push for lower. I initially set on 1:16 with a slight chance of 1:15. I actually nailed 1:15 after about 20 hours of play and i was very happy with skipping 1:16. Dusky made the skit of me doing the live crash site reenactment and following it up with a 1:15 was really fitting. As for 1:14 We were near the deadlines of k4 and we had a lot of conflict with the date and disagreeing with each other and just wanting the video to be out, and because k4 was all i was ever thinking about i wanted to leave the discord for a few days so i could just sort out my job and whatnot. I ended up playing one night regardless to test out 1:14 now that new things were found out about the cave part and on one of my worst beacons of the night i ended up getting 1:14. I had nothing to do and just decided to play 7 hours for it, not expecting to get it at all in the first half of the session. I messaged dusky and went back into the k4 discord with my newly acquired time. This is what i wrote to dusky https://imgur.com/gZ85BMA. The reason for the PR comment is because i was watching a "Down The Rabbit Hole" video about TempleOS and i achieved this time when i was 1 hour 14 minutes into that video. 20 hours for 1:15, 7 hour for 1:14. 27ish combined.

Defection Agent 0:05 - This one actually has a lot of lore behind it. I was duping 5.96/5.98/6.00 like it was nobodys business but i simply could not get that illusive 5. I ended up getting 5 after 20 hours of trying but my run corrupted due to a full harddrive. I was pretty sad and tried for about an hour to recover the footage somehow but i knew that the only way i could redeem the run is to get another 5. I kid you not, 19 minutes into my session i got another 5 after my first one being 20 hours. I was in a voice call with Harry, JD and Randy and i was just saying stuff like "Yup, yup yup yup harry yup" to not alert JD and Randy that i got a time for the hoard. But i think Harry knew exactly what was happening at that moment. Pretty funny looking back. Here's that reaction: https://youtu.be/b-gCJJoOFUw

Deep Sea Agent 2:27 - I'm actually quite sad this time was overshadowed as much as it was because it's one of the levels i spent the most hours on. I simply could not figure out how to get 51/52 elvis consistently even after asking Vitor and Karl extensive questions. Regardless i knew i wanted a good Deep Sea time in the video and i settled with Agent. I got my first 2:52 on the 4th of May and continued to grind and grind and got all the way down to 2:27 eventually. I probably spent about 60-80 hours playing Deep Sea from scratch for the video. Really brutal level but i really love deep sea so i wanted it in the video. I didn't end up spending time figuring out how to get elvis fast enough for 2:25 because my hours were spent mostly on the time below.

Maian SOS Special Agent 1:50 - After getting my first 1:57 i knew that this was a level that i could EASILY improve on and i got 1:54 and 1:53 extremely fast. I wanted to get 1:51 with maybe a chance at the untied. After about 30-40 hours i ended up getting 1:51 and i was pretty happy with it despite parts of the run being pretty ugly. It was June or July and our times were starting to all look extremely crisp but we were missing an untied. Not everyone in the hoard were as set on wanting an untied as me and i figured that i should play for one if i was so set on wanting one. I played on and off for 1:50 until i got to late july/august where i focused all of my energy into Maian SA. After another 80-100 hours after my first 1:51 i broke through on my fastest pace ever on a run that could have been 1:49. My first ever untied of 1:50. I had so many 1:50 pace runs die to the 2nd lift not being open but this time i was SO fast that even though the lift was closed it was still untied pace. I'm pretty proud of this time but the 2nd lift is a tad bittersweet. Regardless, i got an untied for the video and it's all i could ask for. Crazy to think that i got to this point after not being able to get Chicago SA 0:25 in 2018. My improvement is really shining through with a run like this.

Extraction Agent 0:48 - Soooo this one LOL. Well i got Extraction 0:49 after 6-8 hours of play sometime in March/April i don't recall and i wasn't sure if i wanted it int he video and on the final week before releasing k4 i was pretty bitter that i never ended up getting 0:48. But my new stick came in so i spent the last week or so grinding for it. I kid you not 23 hours before the video was about to air i clutched the fuck out of it with 48.65. I was in VC with a shit ton of people and i yelled "OMG... I'm sorry guys i have to go i have to leave." I left before i told them what the time was and i just called Dusky immediately. Sammy's reaction was also priceless. https://imgur.com/LEuHXBB. I'd say since 0:49, 0:48 took me about 30 hours. Pretty solid grind.

We had a lot of ups and downs in the project but those things wouldn't be present if we didn't care about the video and the outcome of it all. I'm really happy to have worked with the people i worked with. Special thanks to Pauli and Harry as well. Wish you guys could have made it into the video as well. Thanks to Joris for joining the project too, really kept me motivated and the daily europe hours were no longer lonesome. Dusky you're a 5000% mate thanks for being you, we clicked instantly when i joined the community and i'm glad we worked together on this. Haydos, i've always admired your skill and mystery, wish you didn't disappear because we were very worried about you :(. FrostHops, you were so positive and a bright spark for the project, i'm really happy with everything you contributed. Wodahs thank you for sweeping up the dust and making the project feel whole and in order again. It was great working with someone so passionate. In fact the whole team was extremely passionate. Thanks a lot guys it's an unforgettable experience.

my thoughts on [k4]    (will likely be added to/edited while i continue to gather my thoughts over the coming days/weeks).

Dusky

Note: I know you might not have reached your fullest potential in terms of runs featured in the project, but your contribution goes far beyond that. Your unique blend of humour, intense passion and creative aptitude shines through the entire video. Still, some favourite's of mine:

Aztec Agent 1:26
- Daft Punk - Fresh pings to it. My favourite aztec run in k4.

Frigate LTK 1:15
- Great buildup to the run with secret Boss discord DMs and hilarious fails/rage compilation. Song pings. Love the variety it adds to the list of times.

Haydos

Jungle Agent 0:50
- Very unexpected, digging up the VHS tapes was a nice idea. Really good run, shows clear 49 potential. Aussie Pride!

Ricky

Note: Your whole segment (not even counting your runs which come later in the project) is amazing. Here are some of my favourites though:

Deep Sea Agent 2:27
- The first non-wr you revealed might have been slightly dampened because of the World Record train directly before it. But on re-watch I could see this run for what it is; a showcase of your rapid improvement in skill and versatility as a player, set to a timeless banger. The way the song climaxes over the end cut-scene is magical.

Chicago Agent 0:14
- I was confident by the tone of your voice (and how excited you were leading up to k4) that you had achieved this time. This expectation did not prevent the experience of actually seeing the run being intense though. Interesting little intro and fitting music choice, reminded me of some oldschool Illu & Clemens runs. I know how much you wanted this time since you started going for it during our escapades last year in Buy The Dip, and how it must have felt to finally break through.

Maian SA 1:50
- You grinded it out and didn't give up. Looked like a masterful run to my untrained PD eye. Great reaction.

Frosthops

Dam SA 1:18
- The moment the saxophones graced the screen to the sounds of The Midnight - Vampires and Dam Secret Agent started up I got chills down my spine. This is one of the runs which takes me back to the great memories of learning and improving at Goldeneye, and what makes the game fun to play.

Frigate SA 0:59
- "Okay, okay okay, okay.. I need to reevaluate life and, the meaning of life, and everything associated with life..." Perfectly captures the struggle one must go through to achieve a great Goldeneye time.

Joris Quevedo

Note: Along with Ricky, your input was the most cooked in k4. I always knew you were a great player with huge potential, but after some of these runs my jaw hit the floor.

Bunker 1 Agent 0:16
- There is nothing to say

Bunker 2 Agent 0:23
- There is nothing to say

Daniel Coelho

Note: This part(s) means the most to me on a personal level. I am incredibly proud of my friend reaching Goldeneye Champion, something Daniel has had sights on for a while. Of course it's a mixture of emotions for me though. After riding the wave of the Kapap Trilogy and reaching Champ myself I now find myself in the position of taking a back seat and watching a lot of that work, not exactly undo itself, but be superseded. It is amazing to me that I've been able to witness and be a part of such an epic journey over these last 7 or so years since I unknowingly opened a twitch stream with an excited physics student going for Dam Agent 0:54.

Depot 00A 0:46
- Signature Wodahs 2.x movement with a new wave banger.

Archives 0:17 (Slappers Only)
- This run just makes me happy.

Caverns SA 1:12
- Stung a little, but respect for clutching out the Untied just in time for premier. Apart from the ending (typical caverns sa) the run looked really solid. The edit with the run playing over Wishful Thinking and the scenery footage is a really glorious ending to a roller coaster segment.

Favorite Skit: Frostony Hopstano

Runner up: Sammo yelling about shitters and seiko's through Wodah's monitor

Other gems: Joris' Dog Duel 3, Dusky trying to fit the tapes into Wodah's begging cup

The only criticism I could possibly make would be that at 2hr15min it is quite long, and could have trimmed down - a few of the lesser runs, where the stage was repeated (aztec, statue)... But most people wanted it to go on even longer, so take that with a grain of salt.

Thanks to the whole team for an unforgettable viewing experience. [k4] forever.

Top 10 Songs in [k4]:
- Song's rated not solely on their inherent quality, but also on their usage within the movie.

10. Give A Little Bit - Supertramp
- The sound of victory after a long tug of war.

9. Time Moves Slow - BADBADNOTGOOD
- Pallet cleanser. Terrific moody opening for Frosthops' section; dark spacious song for a dark spacious level. Inspirational lyric: "Running away is easy. It's the living that's hard."

8. What Have I Done To Deserve This? - Pet Shop Boys
- Another loop in the chain of New Wave Synth-Pop choices towards the end of the video. This one really meshes with a fun slappers only run. Also makes use of the best part of the track.

7. Easy Lover - Phil Collins
- Upbeat energetic choice suits Deep Sea well. Great sync on the ending cutscene for bonus points.

6. Let It Happen - Tame Impala
- Props must be given for how well this song is utilized. Forming the backbone of Ricky's introduction, which seamlessly transitions to live footage of the band performing the chorus, followed up with the first of 3 Chicago TWRs and finally transitioning back to live footage where the song fades out during the chopped section of the track.

5. Enjoy The Silence - Depeche Mode
- The sound of someone waking up again and finding their groove again. "All I ever wanted, all i ever needed is here, in my arms." Prophetic.

4. Pink Floyd - Marooned
- I am not much of a fan of this track or the album it is off, but here it is used brilliantly. David Guilmore's wailing guitar is perfect at capturing the emotions expressed in the climax of the final act of the movie.

3. Wishful Thinking - China Crisis
- "It is not the destination, it is the journey". This song would beg to differ. The comfortable sound of sitting on the edge of the world, looking back over the arduous journey it took to get there, reminiscing the good times and the bad.

2. Vampires - The Midnight

1. Atlantis - Donovan
- "Way down below the ocean where I wanna be she may be."

Hands down the best song in [k4].
