Title.

Assuming no new game-breaking strategies like a new out of bounds or something.

actually want to revote, I am not convinced that speedrunning will last infinitely (I highly doubt people will be still speedrunning a million years from now), so it's definitely possible for an untied to last forever

I think that if someone with Pettit-tier luck gets something insane like Frig 55/102, it's feasible that the RNG could never happen again.

All the Turbo untieds are made of material that lasts forever.

I misread the question slightly.
I'd say nearly certainly not for current UWRs but there very probably will be an untied in the future which is never tied. There are a good number of levels with RNG-heavy strats that could be used for better times, i.e.

And there are plenty of levels which are just fundamentally dependent on boosts however you play them. There might be some untieds left which someone could tie but that doesn't mean they're going to. In general there are quite a few solo untieds atm, and I don't think there's really any logic to that number plummeting while the total time is still ticking down.

What exactly is "Frigate 00A with Randy Door"?

Here's a nightmare frigate 00a route idea. I'm not 100% sure the slowest hostage has enough time to escape, but it would be very close at least.

If everything goes smoothly, I think you save around 3 seconds.

I don't know if this type of route has been shown off before. I'm sure some people have noticed it and not cared because it's virtually impossible, but I felt like putting it out there, just in case it leads to something else. You never know.

The video clip I made, is simply the "cut" part of the route. The things I do in this clip are definitely doable without cheats.

I forgot to include the fact that you need to also kill the engine room hostage taker, which adds another layer of difficulty. It's basically a strat that combines a depot agent warp, with a surface 2 old strat door through floor, and in case that wasn't hard enough, you still have to snipe a guard from a long ways away.

The warp is a bit easier through the left of the pipes, or you can get boosted through. It's definitely no depot warp, but it's certainly not an easy route. It frees the worst hostage earlier and puts less guards in his way so it seems good for a crazy untied.

Yeah, I played around a lot with the reverse pipe warps when I was playing a lot of Frigate in 2006-07.  The reverse pipe warps are just too insane in real runs for some reason; plus the two guards at the bottom of the stairs don't make things easy once you're down there.  I basically abandoned my efforts once I realized I'd lose 3-5 seconds on either the reverse-pipe-warp, or dealing with the two guards down there every run; making the whole thing fruitless.

The "Randy door" thing is interesting though.  I never considered it, but it makes sense.  Backtracking for that hostage always threw off the overall strategy around the reverse-pipe-warp, so the Randy door definitely makes saving time with it at least a *little* more viable.

But yeah, if someone managed to pull it off on a super clean & fast run, and completed a Frigate 00A 0:58, which seems to be theoretically possible; then yes indeed, such a thing could remain untied forever.
