Title: What is the impact of Sound Effects and Music in Golden Eye and Perfect Dark?
Post by: nanoshinonome on April 16, 2020, 11:46:15 am
I am new here, but I've watched lots of Karl Jobst's and Goose's videos on speedrunning. I don't speedrun myself, but enjoy seeing content on it.

In Karl Jobst's recent video "Perfect Dark's Oldest Record Was Finally Beaten!" where he talks about boosts being unused with the Phantom until the aiming trick was discovered this made me think about sound in both of these games.

Does the sound effects and music control anything with loading or the speed of the game? This would be similar to how if you look down you will have faster fps because you don't see as much.

I apologize in advance if someone has already talked about this, but I haven't seen sound/music be referenced in any of their videos yet.

Music has been proven to not change anything. Sfx at 0% does help lag a little bit but we have it written in our proof policy that you need audible sound.
