Title: *** The Elite GE/PD Fantasy League 2020 ***

Summer is coming! That means League LLC has returned a fresh league. New rules as well as a scoring system overhaul highlight the changes for the 2020 League season that will surely inject new life into the competition

1. Two Month League

-League will begin June 1st and run thru July 30th
-Team in 1st at the end of July 30th (00:00 EST on July 31st for those who struggle telling time) will be declared Champions


2. Roster Size and Adding/Dropping Players

-Number of teams will be soft capped at 10 (more/less depending on level of interest)
-Teams will consist of five players plus the Captain(6)
-Each team will be allowed 5 drops, adding and dropping a player must be posted in the thread to be officially counted
-Teams are not allowed to drop players without replacing them
-Teams cannot trade players
-All drops are subject to league staff review and can be vetoed in the interest of league fairness and integrity

3. Captain Changes

-Captains can either be player-captains or non-player captains
-If you declare as a non-player captain, you will draft 6 players instead of 5
-Captains are undraftable
*ATTN: If you begin League as a non-player captain, this decision is irreversible, and your player status will be revoked for League 2020. Additionally, if you begin League as a captain and resign your position, your player status for League 2020 will be revoked*


4. Proof Policy

-Videos must be provided to secure bonus points
-Daily videos must be provided the day of the receive credit
-Weekly Bonus videos must be provided by the end of the week (unless otherwise specified) to receive credit
-League players are subject to the same Proof Policy as the Rankings (posting several pointed times without videos will result in proofcalling)


5. WRs and Untieds

-Bonus points awarded for WRs based on tier (100 for T8, 300 for T1)
-No untied bonuses will be awarded


6. Daily and Weekly Incentives

- Each day will have 1 GE and 1 PD level as a daily
-A PR worth points with proof of either daily level will award a flat 25-point bonus (50 possible if achieved for both stages)
- Weekly bonus will be announced at the beginning of each week (Monday EST) and their value will be revealed at that time


7. Forum badge

- The winners of fantasy league will receive a forum badge to commemorate their victory.


8. Hoarding

-Hoarding videos in all contexts is banned from counted towards league totals (Hoard Presentations/Videos/Montages)
-If a hoard video is released during league, related or unrelated, those points will not be counted toward team totals
-All proven and suspected (probable cause) instances of hoarded points will be removed from the league scores and the offending player will be disqualified

**Note: League officials reserve the right of review: to approve or overrule all League activity. Any disputes, questions or concerns can be communicated with the League office at any time**

League 2020 ChangeLog

This post will walk thru the major changes and the reasoning behind said changes for League 2020. The vision of these changes is to encourage community wide activity and participation throughout.

-No player trades

Irrel feature that was never used and highly unlikely to ever be used, would be cool to see but hard in practice to execute proper trades without causing large team disruption, removed

-Non-player captains

Last year, there was debate on the merits of having captains not be players and be more akin to managers/coaches a la fantasy sports. I like the spirit of that idea and wanted to implement it as it promotes participation (which is in the very spirit of a community league), yet it was difficult to make the full transition to this system as several always express interest in being player-captains. Therefore, in the interest of fairness, non-player captains are implemented and have their player status removed to avoid potential temptation (disrupting a team by leaving and returning as a player) as well as provide focus. Non-player captains are given an extra draft pick as compensation to fill out their roster.

-WR and Untieds

Full disclosure, I despise the tiered WR system. It’s very subjective and arbitrary at a certain point (admittedly impossible to avoid). However, I recognize that a system to assist in identifying stronger records is necessary, particularly in the context of a scoring system. Last year’s League had a point bonus floor of 25(T8) and a ceiling of 200(T1). These are quite low and there’s almost no incentive for pursuing a lowered tiered record outside of personal satisfaction. In line with this, all tiered bonuses have been buffed ranging from 100(T8) to 300(T1). While modest in nature, I feel like these provide better reward while reducing the odds of a league-breaking player creating a black hole in the competition. In that same spirit, the 2x untied bonus has been removed. Any untied scored during League will receive the WR bonus based on its decided tier (Ex: Untied-Facility 41, Tier 1, 300 pts awarded). League officials reserve the right to have final say on this tier selection for the sake of timeliness and brevity (Community input will be consulted).

-Dailies and Weeklies

Right, this is the big one. Multipliers are cool (Daily Double just rolls right of the tongue), but we’ve observed if committed to by a good player with a blank page, it can be quite game breaking. A multiplier also inherently puts a player in a position where they must play the daily even if they don’t want to or cannot do so. Additionally, a player who would want to play the daily but already has a decent PR on the stage cannot fully benefit from playing the level as someone with an N/A. While lowering the multiplier was discussed with the committee (of one), it made more sense in fairness to confer a flat bonus to all players who score a pointed PR on the daily stages. This removes a lot of potential abuse as well as removes the cumbersome task of tracking multiple daily completions and awarding multiple bonuses for each pointed gain. This also indirectly nerfs PD and buffs GE without setting arbitrary restrictions that would discourage either game being played (which would be against the spirit of League). Weekly bonuses will also not have multiplier bonuses, but flat bonuses based on criteria determined for each bonus. Most weekly bonuses will look to have a team-based spin on them to promote participation and communication in order to acquire them.

Won't know for a few weeks what my winter is looking like - 30% chance I could be cooked at work, 30% chance I've got tons of playtime thanks to COVID-19, 30% chance I'm somewhere in between, 10% chance I'm not motivated.

If I can go HAM then I'll captain, if I'm somewhere in between then I'm probably a decent late round pick, if I'm cooked at work then pick me at your risk.

Hey this is Jacob Ezell, a.k.a. Tideking. I'd love to play in the league this year; it seems like a really good opportunity to become a better player, and meet some different community members.  Reasons why you should pick me:

-I just started playing about 4 weeks ago, and I have managed to get Dam A 53, Dam SA 1:19, and B1 A 17. These 3 stages are pretty different and it shows that I can learn the ropes quickly.

-I'm willing and eager to listen to the team captain and teammates; I'd be happy to adjust what stage I'm going for if it makes sense, and just try new levels in general.

-I'm a pretty big degenerate, and play long hours to get solid times.

we put you in tier 2 because at the time you only pr'd once in the past 3 weeks when we made it as well as you showing you only played for wrs. You can also always ask to be put in a different tier depending on how you plan to play during league. There are tons of people with mostly empty times pages with a few amazing time but that doesnt mean they will fill those in for league

Definitely down to play, would recommend a knowledgable PD player picks me, because my GE potential is limited but my potential PD point gain is huge

Notable achievements include reaching rank 16th in under 2 years in Goldeneye, and earning the most points for my team last year.

I might make a decent late round pick though. Risk assessment is up to you, I haven't played since April cos been too cooked from work.

Pros:
(+) Been tidying up my agent times (https://rankings.the-elite.net/~Whiteted/goldeneye). I won't set any league targets because I am committed to the team effort
(+) All versions of GE
(+) Some quotes about my draft in 2019 (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/435833135?sr=a&t=1738s):

      "Whatever happens from hereon out, that pick's fucking fire"
 I think I was the only person drafted with 0 points, and I like to think I still have some of those meme qualities today.
(+) Will train the team when the 2.3 weekly bonus comes around
(+) Coronavirus has left me with some annual leave which I need to use up :)

Cons:
(-) GE-focused. I'm not against playing a little PD (PAL only), but I'll quietly hope that the weekly bonuses don't require me to ;)
Last year I played Deep Sea for the A & SA daily doubles, and got some points on SA.
(-) Full time job, and I'm moving role at work in a few weeks, so I'll be extra busy.
(-) Similar situation to Cal, just not as good.

I'll be "working" from home for the time being, which basically means I can play GE through my shift, so I have plenty of time to grind. Of course I'm still a noob, but I'm willing to be coached and try new things to score points for my team. Biggest drawback is that I don't have air conditioning in my apartment right now; hopefully this should be resolved soon so I can play in maximum comfort  :cool:

Two teams drafted players that, for one reason or another, cannot participate at this time. In the interest of fairness and having all teams come out the gate at full strength, these add/drops have been facilitated for the two above teams and all other teams will receive their own "draft mulligan" in the form of an extra add/drop.
