Well played to everyone involved, I enjoyed every match (https://forums.the-elite.net/index.php?topic=23498.0).
That final was a real cooker too. Hope all the players had fun.
Pauli got some great feedback on League last year (https://forums.the-elite.net/index.php?topic=23137.0), and League itself changed and evolved since its first year (https://forums.the-elite.net/index.php?PHPSESSID=rra4pb2cquatrhpdgru9b1850l&topic=19785.0).
Would love any feedback on what worked well, what didn't, any ideas you have on how to improve the Cup.
Think the interest is there to run this again next year, let's use your ideas to make it even better.

Copying in from Discord so feedback isn't lost:

I have a suggestion
allow dam players to restart if they get bad cinema
highly vontroversial
noone should start one try cup with a bad mood tbh
I don't know why noone vetos dam, it's such a shit level cause of that
YendisToday at 20:59
I had 3 bad dam cinemas during my tourny run
Dr. LightToday at 21:00
i think HCM banned it a couple times
i think the better players would just rather veto frigate or statue due to a greater chance of a worse players winning there
AceToday at 21:04
Yeah noone should have to veto dam cause of bad cinema worries
that's just shit

Thank you for organizing this great event!

Yeah everyone I've done this with so far for single matches have all agreed to restart a dam bad cinema. Also most of the people I've played have agreed that ties should not make the next level worth twice as much. If you have any ideas for ties other than the 2 obvious choices let's hear some ideas.
I love this race format for GE, the cup was really cool although I got keen for it after it filled up all the way so I've just been playing people for fun. Highly recommend people do this sort of thing more often, the nice thing about playing with someone in a one off match and not a tourney is you can both agree on a ruleset far outside of everyone else. For instance I've played some where the person who goes first on the level picks the difficulty. Fun things for players who know the full game.
Shoutouts to Cal! I'm semi retired but always keen for a match so hit me up if you want to whoop a washed up player :nesquik:

I very much enjoyed watching the Cup. I tried to catch as many matches as I could time permitting. I live in a borough of NYC so I was on super-lockdown and was super bored. It was a nice distraction.
I agree with Irie that the rule where ties resulted in double-points on the next level was my least favorite aspect. What if you did something like replay the level on SA to break the tie?
I also very much enjoyed watching Irie's exhibition matches with Clemens and others, mostly because they played difficulties other than Agent, though I'm not necessarily suggesting that the Cup incorporate that.
Another thing I would add is that I missed some matches just because I didn't know when they were or who the streamers were. In the beginning a lot of things were going on at once and it was hard to keep track of. If there was a way to add a date/time of the match on the bracket and then link to the twitch profile of the players that would be great. I know that you used a service to generate the bracket this time, but if it's going to be a while before the next Cup it shouldn't be hard for someone to throw a simple site together to do it. I could maybe even do it if you'd like (I do software/web development), if requested and given enough notice before the next Cup.

Was fun, thanks!

This was great and I had a lot of fun! Can't wait for the next cup!
I think everything this time around was solid, the only change I would suggest is to make ties worth 0.5 for each player. IMO this more accurately reflects a close match. For example Sammo and Dusky tied 3 times, but Dusky happened to win both tiebreaks. Being rewarded 5 points for 2 wins seems pretty imbalanced to me and heavily works in favor of better players. Giving compensation for a tie should make future scores closer, and takes away advantages for better players. Not that I think weaker players should get help but I think it would even the playing field more.

When this was started, it originated from the match play concept in golf. In golf, when two players tie a hole, they each receive 1/2 a point. A modification like this may work here as well.
