Do you use A or Z to reveal the endscreen of your PR runs?
This is basically assuming that you know it has a chance at PR.

Have always used Z (or sometimes START), but a healthy reminder was sent to all AceCorp mates not to use A again after the Henning "Accidental" B Press Incident.

Z, because it's the only feasible option for all control styles. The thought of anyone pressing any other button infuriates me tbh.

Well you also hold the stick up right so that you can start the level sooner, or have to go through a few extra menus. This is actually in the long term bad for the stick. I learned to press start to start a level about a year into playing too so I feel that sentiment but still as soon as I learned it I changed habits and my sticks thanked me. Same as quitting a level, the strat I learned from flicker I never stopped using once I learned it cause it long term helps the stick. The strat for anyone who isn't aware is as the watch is coming up for the pause, hold R and spam A and it'll instantly quit out

Wow you use A + R to quit out instead of Z + C right? C buttons are the only way to menu tbh. Especially if trying to do it fast such as in RTA, you can't over or undershoot your selection.

You can also hold R and spam Z, using A there isn't any more rel.

You can quitout R+A with just one hand on the controller, avoiding C-Right+A due to alien finger stretch is just a comfort.
Depends on your grip style I suppose. I approve of all methods that do not use the stick unless completely necessary for speed (RTA)!

and while I get the stick preservation thing, in the grand scheme of things you aren't really prolonging the life of your stick by that much, especially if you're playing stick intensive levels anyway. Plus considering my 'enthusiastic' style of play, using my stick to restart a level in GE is probably one of the kinder things I do to it. :nesquik:

Well where I live going 60 instead of 70 will mean a large portion of people will go to unheard of lengths to pass you so they can go fast, including passing you on the shoulder or median, or possibly on 2 wheels. So in fact it's probably much safer to just speed rather than be flattened by some Karen in an SUV. Food for thought.
However on the topic of stick preservation, I don't think it's taken seriously enough by the majority. A solution to the long term stick problem should be given similar attention and resources to solving climate change tbh.

Yeah flicker expanded better on the quitout strat, being able to do it with one hand is pretty amazing. And I firmly believe this stuff is big on stick preservation because it's otherwise a lot of repetitive motions in a couple directions, up right for starting a level and to the right for quitting out. That definitely is going to create problems down the road

I never use the stick to menu, but always use some wild combo of C buttons and D pad.
