Today while preparing a forum post i noticed something interesting.
Try to type the name of this player and post it (or use "Preview" before posting it):

Yeah for some reason the word "Pr0bert" is turned into something else.
Just did a bit of research and it looks like i'm not the first one to notice this lol

While the word "sorcery" had been fixed, P.r.o.b.e.r.t didn't.

It would be nice if someone could fix this, that joke is a bit rude towards Tyler, he just returned to The Elite in 2020 after a 16 years break just to find out he can't even type his name on the forums without being called a jerk.

Keep it! It's a neat part of history and when I mentioned it to him 2 months ago that the word filter still existed he said "well deserved imo".

From a coding standpoint, something like this going unnoticed for so long is bad and could potentially cause issues down the road. Or at least make it into a fully fledged user facing feature so it won't be hidden in the shadows and forgotten about.

Fair enough, but tbh, based on what I know of Tyler P at least, if his name auto correct is "well deserved", then there are like 20 other eliters who "deserve" a similar name change, myself included.

You can just put an italics or bold code in the middle of Probert and it'll show up, but still.  It is kind of silly.

At least sorcery got changed back from tomfoolery.

This has been known and noticed for a very long time (not exactly well known since that jerk’s been inactive), but nothing has been done about it.

Not quite as mysterious as you were hoping for.

It's not the only one. There are several other entries in here. Mostly related to privacy for users concerned about certain terms.

To respect the privacy of those who asked for specific help with this feature, I'd encourage you to avoid trying to "out" them.
