Yeah his championship is just kinda "there".
It's not epic like Wouter/Bryan/Clemens/Ace's reigns were. I guess I could be biased because those were the champs I remember from 2002-2007 and admired.
No offense to the guy of course, it just is what it is. To be a GE champ in 2020 takes immensely insane skills. mega props bro

The era of having 50+ WRs and a good chunk of them as untieds is long over. Everyone has less than a third of the WRs possible now. An individual player's hours as a percentage of the total community's hours has dropped to nearly 0. To be ranked high is to simply keep up.
I personally think Wodahs is an awesome champion in this day and age with still having 3 untieds, being the only one with every leaderboard, and a well-balanced times page.

Wodahs is far ahead right now. The game is all about skill and motivation and Wodahs has a lot of both, in the game and outside of the game. A champ to be celebrated for sure.

I really think that motivation is such an underrated factor in speedrunning in general, being able to achieve a mindset of patience and discipline is a skill in itself. To have had the grit to grind out all the records Wodahs has done- in spite of so many them not being glamourous untieds/slays- is a remarkable achievement for which I think he doesn't get nearly enough credit.

Is it wrong to just assume if Ace could just will his way into 1st if there was $$ on the line or something? For whatever reason, the point rankings have become borderline irrel in the last 7ish years.
It's no disrespect to Daniel, he's 10x the runner I ever was but Ace's run in PD just shows he's the goat.

He’s a great player, but everyone knows Ace / Karl / Clemens / Marc are objectively the best. The rankings tells you who has the most points... but the dust has settled around who the greatest truly are.

Considering this insane squad of competitors (plus Calle, Joris, Irie, Luke, Boss, Swiss, Illu, ...), don't you think it's all the more remarkable that Wodahs averages 95.9 points? I do.
