Title: Newbie Streaming Query
Post by: PJplum on November 06, 2020, 03:31:49 pm
Hey everybody

Long time no post used to be very active about 16 years ago. I am starting to stream and have been speedrunning an old school game released from 1998. I am trying to get livesplits to show on screen.

On both the CD and the GOG versions of the game it is full windowed, I haven't been able to find any way to force it to be windowed

Two possible solutions if anyone has advice/
1. Does anyone know a reliable software / tool / method to make a full screen game function within a window.
2. Does anyone know how to make livesplits or any split software appear over a full screen game. I'm led to believe in fullscreen mode the laptop wont even recognise any other programs.

Thanks elite!

Did you try this:

- Send a shortcut of the game .exe to the desktop if there isn't one there already

- Right click the shortcut and select "Properties"

- In the "Shortcut" tab, add -w after the end of the text in the "Target" box

- If -w doesn't work, maybe try -window or -windowed

Should look like this

- If these all fail, try looking up instructions for editing the game's .ini (Config) file

I'm not super experienced with old school games so I don't know if this usually works with all games but it has always worked for me when I have tried it.
