I realized, after running the capture of my Cradle WR through vidcoder in order to deinterlace it (like i always do), that it still had what looked like interlacing issues in it.
I read somewhere on here that if you capture your footage in 30 fps instead of the 29.97 that ntsc is supposed to have, that the footage wont be able to be deinterlaced, and i think that is what happened here.
So my question is, is there ANY way of fixing this?
I have tried using video converting sotfware to convert the footage back to 29.97 fps and then deinterlace it again but with no luck. If there is anyone who knows of a way to fix this I would be very grateful.

Without trying myself as I'm busy with stuff, I feel like this type of interlacing is probably fixeable somehow, maybe it requires some manual editing to fix it.
Was thinking something like discarding every interlaced frame and extending the previous frame by 1 frame or something like that. I'd hop on discord and @Calle W as he would probably be the one to know if anyone does.

When I think about it, I think I could manually fix it, but it requires at least a few hours of work. If someone hasn't done it by june I can give it a go, but my thesis is due 31st of May, so that takes priority.

That would be very appreciated, but theres no need for it to be done anytime soon. I can just resubmit it in that case, so no stress :rollin:

Upload the rawest file version of your run. Upload it to some dropbox or cloud storage thing. That would give the best chances for others to work their magic on it.

Unfortunately a couple portions of the run are unfixable (reaching the top of the first ramp, going down the stairs, and most of the ending). This is about as good as it's going to look. Up to the mods I guess!

It's not a crazy untied WR I think your record will be fine man. From a lay person's POV I see nothing wrong with the video. Looks like a skilled player getting a 0:33 to me.

I think the run looks completely reasonable. I would be STUNNED if this is rejected as proof. Perhaps this incident will simply serve as a reminder to prevent interlacing, and the time should be gladly accepted onto the rankings.
Good luck and nicely done by MW, a great community service in between breaks of Pokemon Snap WR attempts.

Yep I agree. Looks fine! Definitely a good reminder that all is not lost when encountering video recording problems.
