apologies admins if im not posting in the right spot! still new.
So I'm running a PAL console linked straight to a new TV, the graphics look like a PS knockoff and (no joke) every movement attracts slight lag. Creaky controller to boot.
20 years ago, I was never able to get invincible cheat (I realise this makes me less than the dog shit on a noob's boot around here but hey this is where im at). Goose and KJ's vids inspired me to play again and give the cheat a crack. I've been at it for weeks and tbh Facility is fast becoming Futility.
Snicker but I got a PB last night of 2:26. So tonight i wanted a sub 2:25 or even 2:20!
Tonight with my mother watching (no joke) I was having an OK run, and managed to get to the bottling room in 1 piece.
With a decent Doak, exemplary Trev and 2 mines in my pocket I entered the final stage of the run. Well-aimed mine throws are difficult due to the lag which each movement of the stick attracts, but i hurl em both in there as Trev steers well-clear of the bottles. Detonation mid-air as I'd seen others do on YT. Nailed it. Trev seemed delighted, but I wasn't in the mood for his awkward small-talk, I kicked open those steel doors and got the hell outta there.
Felt I'd done enough for a PB or even 2:20. End scene. Click. Page turn.
As unexpected red text fills my vision a joyful cheer bursts from my lips like a trio of shots from a single tap of the KF7 trigger.
I did it!

My pace may be unrelatably slow to yall, but im thinking the excitement and fresh sense of accomplishment is something we have in common.
Anybody remember when they did theirs?
On a side note, after today's effort I can reasonably expect to finally surpass DarkLight93's tally of respect points (probably will accrue around the 12.5 to 12.75 million mark).

Yeah the rush is mad when you get a sik pb or time you are gunning for.
With regards to the controller being an arse I made thread and website about how to maintain and get new parts for your stick so you can have a better time.

You’ve now experienced the dopamine hit that we’re playing for, and are well on your way to becoming a proper junkie ;)
As far as lag is concerned, n64 has severe input delay on modern televisions for technical reasons which my IQ is too low to explain. Typically you’re going to want to play on a CRT Television which can be had quite cheap and easily on your local classified ads. Another option is using a retrotink with a gaming monitor, however that’s going to inevitably be a more complex setup to get recording with as well as a more substantial investment assuming you haven’t already got a suitable monitor.

Another option is Retrotink, however this may be more pricey than CRT tv, just make sure if you are buying a CRT you get them cheap :)

If you can take joy in your achievements, however 'small' they may be, you'll have a fantastic time playing the game.
I remember getting the Facility cheat. I had to work hard to get it, and should in no way be underestimated.
As a fellow PAL/modern TV player, I can empathise, albeit it's the best part of 20 years since I played on anything else. I reckon it costs <insert convenient time loss here> :grin:
