hey guys, can anyone recommend a 3rd party controller?

What is best?

I see a Hyperkin Cpt Premium is reasonably priced but if anyone knows what is better please let me know.

Welcome to the community!

When it comes to full controller replacements, just don't bother. They are not amazing and have ranges that are not great for precise movement.

Your best bet is to go here: https://store.kitsch-bent.com/

Buy a set of gears, bowl and stick. Open your controller up and replace the parts. https://forums.the-elite.net/index.php?topic=24135.0 tutorial here and videos are linked to how to open up everything.

Shopping list:

- Superlube by Loctite
- #0 Philips for screws
- Bowl, gears and stick from Kitch-bent
- Rubbing alcohol for cleaning the dust out of bowl.

You could probably get all this for less that a 3rd party controller and you have tools to replace and maintain your sticks forever!

kinda funny how 'repairing' something doesn't even come to mind, bit of a lost art and so forth
