There's no expansion pack, but the jumper pack is still there. NTSC expansion packs can work on PAL as well (my PAL exp pack works on NTSC).
With Mario Kart, I erased the file which was on there
and made my own (I only completed the first grand prix). I tested the N64 and it works, it only took about 15 tries to position the game pack correctly (push it down as far as it will go).Have fun with your new system!

and I heard some people who said it was easier on pal to get fast times since basically you have more time to think about what you do
I guess it could be good for shade to test this

it was never gotten on a ntsc cart and you never went as fast so you can't claim a wr on pal since it will always be slower.
it can be a pal wr, but not a ntsc wr. you can't combine the systems for mario kart 64. they are both different games. one runs slower, just face it.
it is exactly the same as Tim Greneby who said he had Defection Agent 0:33 while he actually had 0:34 on PAL.
He "converted" it to ntsc.. but is it the right thing to do? No, not at all, no way it is. it's the most retarded thing I've ever heard.

it is not the way how it works... it's the way how things go on the rankings, but it doesn't work like that.
also, if you get slower times, there's no way you could be getting better times than times which beat them.
it's like saying defection agent 0:33 is better than 0:06.
it is not, since you need to know how to get the 6 in order to get it, and thus 6 is better, no matter if the 33 might need more work or whatever, it doesn't beat the 6.
then you should just not use a slower strat.
Or a slower game/system for that matter.

About defection , it's not exactly the same : you can make the fast strat or the slower strat on both systems ( you can get 6 and 33 on ntsc and you can get at least 6 and 34 on pal ). On mk64 , you can just go at the speed your system allows it . And of course it'd be unfair to rank pal times and ntsc times together , that's why they made those pal times converted into ntsc . I'm not saying it's the best solution , maybe pal and ntsc rankings should be completely separated , I don't know but right now , the rankings "work" (
) like that and I guess it can explain why so many ntsc people want to try the pal version

You seem to think I disagree with what you said whereas I just told you rankings work like that , that's why ntsc people want pal versions , it doesn't matter if they're right or wrong , that's how it happens . Yes, you kind of play with slowmotion.
Well, that is because it GOES SLOWER.
That makes you get slower times, and thus, worse times.
Just to make another comparison:
It's like a racing tournament.
cars can go at certain speeds
if a car would go at it's slowest speed
and finishes last
it would NOT be converted to the time it would have finished in, if he had raced at its highest speed. you see? NOT!
Even if he might have had the WR then.
since, you can't know what would have happened if you were faster. Since being faster means > needing to react faster, turn earlier and all that stuff. You can't convert times like that.
I should go take a walk in the woods and claim the wr of sprinting (wr of 100 m running or so). I'll just show them a vid of where I walked and say you got to convert it to the fastest speed a person could be running, and voila! I'd have the wr. how cake is that. and totally not legit and obviously illogical.
The only thing the guys who got pal games can do is get the pal wrs for mk64... so if they gonna make seperate rankings (which would be the only right thing to do) and you take the time to waste some more time on mk64 on pal.. you could get in both leagues and maybe become first in both. that's all there is to it.
I don't get why you would go and play pal mk64 when you seemed to have little time for playing games... you could better use it for owning pd which you do so much better.
