AWESOME
-
WHAT THE @#%$!!!!
-
Illu said it best.. WHAT THE @#%$
-
i saw this, and then saw the record, and then shat myself
-
holy @#%$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Ha, nice whoarding strat
-
Nope, similar strat.. only thing different was only injuring that guard before obj B room.
-
Lol I meant how you whoarded the time to ensure you would be the one to break the barrier.
EDIT: Never mind, I read your post wrong, I thought the date said 5/15/07 or something lol
-
Whoa this is sweet, I wasn't really sure how long this would take....
Let's go 1:13:59 now.
Congrats to Boss and Illu for lowering GE's total time.
-
nope this should be last big barrier. please prove me wrong though!
-
That is quite an amazing achievement, congrats everyone with untieds!
-
Amazing, Bryan.
Spare a thought for anyone stupid enough to have been whoarding records to steal the 1:15 barrier...
-
Amazing!!!
-
actually now I just remembered I forgot I had one
j/k
-
Finally you're the one who broke the barrier!
After all these untied, you was the one who deserved this, well done!
-
Wow looks like my prediction was correct
Incredible job though, 1:38 is frickin insane.
-
INCREDIBLE!
Great job Boss! and Clems for a bit :P
-
this for sure ain't the last barrier..
-
Amazing Bryan - can't wait to see what else you've got in store for us this summer!
Now, how long till 1:13:59?
-
When did we break 1:16:00?
-
That's a very good question
-
it was Ace's B2 00A 1:05 last July. Someone should make a chart of what untieds slowly took the time from 1:16:00 to now, or maybe Quentin's thing does that.
-
Wow, I bet nobody thought 1:15:00 would only take another 10 months.
-
No Goose, but that's a good idea! I'll see what I can do this week-end about that!
-
we all knew 1:15 was going to be broken, but at that time, 1:14 was a split on yes/no. I'll probably stay with no on the 1:14, though I think we'll come close, like 1:14:20
-
I say 1:14:00 will be the last barrier to be broken, and it will take... 15 more months.
-
just need a list of all the untieds ever, in order Quentin. The data should be collectable from your program anyways
I say we hit 1:13:59 with a bang in like, early 2008 if not the end of this summer :P
-
the-elite.net : these guys are scary good.
congrats to everyone who helped drop that overall time
-
Insane.
-
there is no way 1:13:59 will ever happen. It just won't
-
stan, it will happen, though it's always hard to imagine at this point
-
I think last year, we were all pretty disappointed that Ace broke the barrier with B2 00 1:05, one of the weakest untieds we had seen that year, rather than Boss breaking the barrier with Runway 00 0:37 (which put the time to 1:16:00), one of the best untieds of the year, which would have broken such a barrier in the most glorious fashion.
All I can say is this year it looks like there was redemption. I can't imagine a better way to have broken of all barriers, this one, with a 4 second untied on the game's most difficult level.
-
"on the game's most difficult level"
which is not Caverns 00 Agent (see Aztec)
-
For some reason I can remember stuff like this, but Neo, yes Neo, made a joke topic back in 2001 asking if 1:14:59 would ever be broken and everyone laughed at it but it got maybe 10 replies, lol...irony ftw
-
It's so good to see records untied by more than a second. Nice one.
-
Good job Elite!! For the statistics freaks, here's some data from the past:
14 October 1998 : 1:42:48 (total SZ+SN) (Players: 23:50 SZ, 33:28 SZ, 45:30 SN) Wes McKinney, founding father, created GoldenEye's World Rankings page in the first quarter of 1998. The exact datum is 24 March 1998. The most ancient information I have dates from October 1998. This period is characterized by Steven Zwartjes's reign, under a different point system with even decimals.
22 April 2000 : 1:29:34 (total SN) (Players: 22:27 SN, 29:52 SN, 37:15 SN) Now operating under the point system we are used to nowadays, Sterling Neblett outclasses everyone.
29 December 2000 : 1:27:26 (total SN) (Players: 22:04 SN, 29:28 SN, 35:54 SN) Most remarkable event of end December 2000 is the arrival of Wouter Jansen. Wouter debuts as the second player in the world, only 3 points behind Neblett (5898 SN, 5895 WJ). Sterling still topples all the time rankings. As you can see, since October 1998 Sterling's total time for the 00 Agent difficulty setting decreased by nearly 10 minutes!
21 April 2001: 1:24:53 (Elite: 21:43, 28:34, 34:36 / Players: 21:49 WJ, 28:47 WJ, 35:03 WJ) Sterling is dethroned; Jansen takes over Sterling's number spot early 2001 and topples the time rankings.
30 July 2001: 1:22:32 (Elite: 21:30, 28:03, 32:59 / Players: 21:39 KJ, 28:28 KJ, 34:01 KJ) Mid-2001 shows Karl Jobst's attempt to become World's Best GoldenEye player. Karl succeeds in becoming first in time for all the difficulty settings. However, he doesn't manage to pass Wouter (5842 WJ, 5826 KJ). In 3 months of time, a major 141 seconds (mainly 00 Agent) have been cut off the total time. This is caused due to new strategies for Control en Caverns.
2 January 2002: 1:21:50 (Elite: 21:23, 27:52, 32:35 / Players: 21:30 WJ, 28:08 WJ, 33:17 WJ) Another 6 months passed and Wouter now topples both all the point and time rankings. Randy climbs the rankings, resulting in a second spot for points total and total time. The decrease in total time is mainly caused by the 00 Agent setting.
2 July 2002: 1:20:55 (Elite: 21:10, 27:27, 32:18 / Players: 21:18 WJ, 27:46 WJ, 32:48 WJ) Mid-2002 and the Elite lowered the combined time by nearly a minute! Credit for this development goes out to Bryan Bosshardt and his new Aztec glitch, saving us tons of seconds. Wouter gets his number one place back, just after Randy enjoyed it a few month in the first half of 2002.
23 January 2003: 1:19:17 (Elite: 20:42, 27:00, 31:35 / Players: 21:00 WJ, 27:11 WJ, 32:04 WJ) The most recent developments! In half a year, total time declined by over a major 1,5 minutes. A new time-saver which helps us to squeeze out a few seconds is look-down. Stunning efforts by Jansen, Bosshardt, Buikema and Zwartjes (Aztec) lower the total time to where it is now, 1:19:17.
6 October 2003: 1:18:09 (Elite: 20:29, 26:40, 31:00 / Players: 20:42 WJ, 26:46 BB, 31:20 WJ) Roughly 8 months have elapsed and quite some breathtaking records have been set. We are in the early phase of this years last quarter and heading for 1:17:59. Since 23 January a major 68 (!) seconds have been cut off GEs total time. Principal setting has been the 00 Agent difficulty.
-
Good stuff Matthijs!
-
simply amazing............
-
Congrats everyone
-
Ten of these 60 seconds since 1:16:00 fell came from Ace's pwnage of Train alone. I think 6 more came from Ryan's Silo sweep and 5 from Illu's Aztec sweep. That's a third of the minute cut on just three levels.
It was June 2005 when 1:17:00 was broken, wasn't it? I can't remember what put us under, though it might have been Cervone's 1:18 on Dam SA.
1:18:00 went at the outset of the BBWJ era
in October 2003. 1:19:00 was March 2003 (up with lookdown! Remember that?
). Everyone remembers 1:20:00 going down courtesy of Bryan on his upward climb in August 2002, hot off the back of 1:21:00 being trumped so gracelessly by his Aztec revolution right at the end of June.
1:22:00 happened, as Matthijs pointed out, in late 2001. Perhaps there should be a decent account of Elite Total Time progression over time made and stored on the GE WR site. I could do this if people are interested.
-
1:16:59 happened with Wouter's streets 1:13 and I did get one silo untied before the 1:15s but that was only one second for that minute.

That's 68 seconds. Not sure about runway SA, but all those other times are definitely possible with a real good effort put in. The trains are just what Ace could do if he made another go, not like anybody else would have a chance. GE has gotten so insane...
-
stuff like aztec, b2, control could go even lower than THOSE, so really 1:13:59 isn't pushing it all that much. I'd say silo 1:02 is impossible though
but I think maybe 103/108/124 could be put in the books.
In any case it sure looks like we're well on our way to 1:13:59
-
Archives wasnt on that list
54s would be another 2s unless it was already factored in and was just somehow excluded in the typing
-
I would agree that basically all of those could happen, except like Dan said maybe not Runway 22. Plus I think we'll go lower than 1:05 on Bunker 00 with a good Boris running strat. So yeah I would agree 1:15:00 will not be our last barrier.
When?...I'd guess summer 2009.

Is that 60, boss? Too lazy to add them up. Those times look very "reasonable" though, if anything can be called that.
-
58, I think.
-
Yep 58 but the total time is 1:14:57 for the moment.
-
Lol how convenient
-
i strongly doubt it. looking at those times, you could argue that they are possible. but i bet they won't all happen
-
Yeah the point of that was to predict what all the times would be when 1:14:00 barrier is smashed.
-
^I like the key word "when"
-
Why wouldn't it?
-
Did I say it wouldn't?
-
how about predict the times when the next next barrier is broken =)

1.58 Dam 00? You lack faith my friend.
-
I love when people say stuff like that who havent even really seriously played the game for fast times. 1:59 is already good enough, and without some insane open door strat 158 is gonna take like 6:0, and thats not exactly cake. Its just too unrealistic to go through the dam with guards all over the place with the door open, its laggy as @#%$ and there sjust too much @#%$ in the way, not to mention how hard it is to even live. I actually wouldnt be very surprised if 158 never even did happen.
-
I don't play much myself but I've been around here a while, and I know that almost every time barrier that's been predicted about this game has been proven wrong. I reckon 1:58 will happen before the end of this year, and then who knows?
-
Quote:
almost every time barrier that's been predicted about this game has been proven wrong
That about sums up nearly a decade of playing/watching.
-
let's just get to that 0:00 barrier already and then go even BEYOND that. there's totally no limit to what can be done, that's how you people sound with arguments such as 'its been said in the past and proven wrong'
-
Making dumb predictions is fun.
Anyone care to predict the times when the 1 hour barrier is passed?
-
The end of our lives
-

Even though I usually say that, you have a good argument
-
Good going, man. Not to say you're all not great players, but it's Bryan!
I'm sure we can all come over one day to play and you can take care of us all personally.
