Um...going along with Eddie's post, 85 2:19s have been failed or completed (most failed, obviously), with ZERO 2:18s. If you could explain exactly how 2:17 will happen, greg (like, what new little strats are being discovered), that'd be great. I personally think 2:18 is maxed, and I may be proved wrong someday. But the fact that 2:18 hasn't even been failed once just makes me think 2:17 would be absolutely insane.

Anyway, good job to Eddie, Jimmy, Dave, and anyone else who recently got a WR; I personally think any World Record (besides ones that are very obviously easier, like Depot A and Runway SA) is amazing.

Unless some new glitch or timesaver is discovered which isnt looking likely, i doubt 2:17 will ever happen. 2:18 is possible and if it happened would be a great maxed wr.

With these 2:19s becoming comman place, who's going to be the first to get A 2:19? If you do go for this practice the trev shot on an emulator untill you can get it at a decent rate.

It's just an opinion of someone from "outside". You're caking 2:19's now, and soon you'll start failing 2:18's. Then one day, ONE DAY - not tomorrow or this year or next year, 2:17 will be achieved. Just because you played the level a lot and haven't failed one single 2:18, doesn't mean that 2:17 is impossible. You guys will find little timesavers (like 0.1 or 0.2), and better ways to get boosted, or whatever. Or do a better Trev shot, I don't know. There's a LOT of places where you can have strat changes.

It's not like saying 0:16 on Bunker is possible, because just there is no "room" to improve one full second from 0:17. But Statue is a huge level, ffs.

That's precisely why you must practice the shot more, you have to get a limb hit, you need to practice it to know exactly where you should aim and when you should fire to get the limb hit.

On a console you get to the practice the shot every one minute and 12 seconds, on an emulator you get to practice the the shot everytime you hit load save state button. Which to you is worth your time?

I havent seen his vid but i usually aim for the right side of that door. seems to be a good spot. or above the door, either way. the best is probably the furthest to the right possible though.

Haha :P So you just fluked your 2:19's? By 'caked' I meant you had a few fails until the FR was in the right place.

I'm just tired of people going like "HEY, THIS TIME IS MAXED", when it's not. I could have said nothing about this, and in a couple of years when you get 2:17, I could go like "BWAHAHA I KNEW IT", but I just felt like trying to predict and have proof for that.

I could be terrible mistaken, though

Incredible job Ilari! That 55 was definately the best start i've ever seen and overall the run the second best ever. I'm not even sure if you needed a Good Trev for that 55.

Not only his start but his finish was the best I've seen too. He just threw down those 2 mines and got the hell out. It's hard to determine what could have been done better but it looked to me like he ran into the rail after the decoder door. And if he woulda warped through the Obj A door like Rayan I. it might have improved his time also. I think if you combined all of the best runs by Ilari, I., Ryan White and Leonardo you could get a perfect run. I'm guessing the maxed time would be a low 53 but who knows. I predict someone will get a 54 in the near future but Id be really surprised to see anything lower than that, since theres so many luck factors involved.

obviously the difference between Bryan/I and who doesn't see where the run could be improved is that we see it's flaws..
if you can't see flaws in runs, no matter how good they are even with those flaws, then it's gotta be hardpressed to actually ever become a great player.

Like, I congratulated Illu on 55 and all but seriously, I was not as impressed as I ever have been. There were many bumps at the start, (fist ketcard guard) obj A could easily have been better and then lost full speed around doak again, so seriously I'd say 53 is maxed but someobe might be able to pull off a 54 sometime this year or something.

Its just the same how everyone goes "ooooooooooh silo 104 is perfect!" no its not and if you think it is you're a noob.
