PAL & NTSC ... Silo.
« on: January 23, 2007, 07:36:00 am »
noob questions I know.. is there any great difference between the two systems? I've looked for some old threads and there seems to a general agreement that NTSC is faster for things like doors opening. On a level like Silo..with many doors does this make a big difference?

Also just on Silo is there some difference between the actual triggered timer and the final time for completing the level when playing on the two different systems.

Thanks...;)

Big diffrence in Silo is that NTSC always have the same intro cinema. PAL have like 5 or 6 diffrent cinemas.

Doors seems to open faster in NTSC aswell. Dunno really.

The KF7 makes less noise on NTSC. The only 2 places where this makes a big diffrence is second "room", becouse if you use KF7 to kill guards on stairs here on PAL there's a lower chance of getting both upcoming doors opened than on NTSC. Also at the crate area you can start shooting as the door opens on NTSC while on PAL you have to start shooting later or else the guards opening door to Satellite room will warp the door.

I'm not sure if there are less guards "cloning" on ntsc too? But probably not.

Those intros on Silo are there for Silo NTSC, but only unlockable with GameShark. It does get sickening seeing the same intro every time :(

I seemed to get boosted around more on Silo PAL and haven't played it on PAL since then, lol since I've often said that about NTSC in levels like Aztec.
