it ain't the best since it's still lowerable by a good 3 seconds from watching that run, and that's not considering skipping BA. living isn't quite the biggest of deal when you can do the glass part with barely any hit. just need to keep consistent and you will live a run and there you go

I can't imagine taking 50+ hours on it but we'll see

Uh, were you watching a different video? Yes, it was damn nice, but he took at least one backboost and the upload was slow. As Wouter said, several more seconds will come off. Unbelievable run, but that's not what I'd call near-perfect. People always overestimate the latest records.

imo, you can't comment on the strength of WRs unless you have at least 20 yourself...

k well, maybe not 20, but a good amount and different records, and a lot of game experience.

so if you don't have those criteria, don't talk about strengths?

Ive played Aztec before, and i will say that even on a easy setting, youre lucky if ANYTHING completes. Even getting the dang glass door open is a chore. it can take hours to get it open even once, so think about that before considering how good it is. Is it absolutely flawless? no, but then again almost no run is ever flawless, even on easier levels than aztec. I agree that a few seconds will probably come down, though. But it will take a long time.

on Aztec 00, not dying while running the guards at the glass is more rare then the glass opening opening itself.

lol if you DIE alot running the glass then you're doing things wrong.. sure you can lose upto 3, but then just get better at the start lol. besides, his start wasn't the best either. eventually, I predict a lucky run coming about, where there's like 1 hit max upto pausing in exhaust, and then completed without BA. either done by myself or someone else, but I'm sure it will happen someday. I mean, if we go argue luck, argue frigate.

Wouter, that will be a pointless run because, even with near full health, theres a GOOD CHANCE at dying at the end. so if anyone gets that 1 in a thousand run, I am sure they will die anyway. Thats just me, but it seems pretty likely.

I dont think so. If you watch Illu's run, he actually has more than a full amount of health if you factor in the body armor, as he heads down the hall towards the end room. He gets shot by a drone gun and loses a little bit of health, and loses all except one hit in the end room. Even with body amor its hard to survive that room. So, even if you have a FULL amount of health before going towards that room, your odds of dying are very high. Let alone survivng with damage already taken. I believe it to be impossible.

The only kind of failible time that is actually impossible would be on frigate if you went too fast for the hostages fastest escapage. Like perhaps frigate A 22 or something.

Well, levels like Silo 00A/Aztec 00A/Bunker 2 00A/ Are levels quite far from max. Not that the're bad times, but speedruning levels like these are very hard. There is so much more chances for stuckage,getting back boosted, missing somthing etc. and sections where killing the guards is nescessary also can slow down the record. Nerves can also some into play. Aswell as GE just being gay

Sure, Illu had several mistakes in that run. But you have to factor in that you need about 5 things go right in one run. The fact that Illu delivers a near perfect run under these conditions truly reflects his skill.
You have to worry about.

-Glass door opening
-Guards being nice as you charge them for the guidance data
-Decent beginning with good guards
-Good drone room
-AND the pressure you are facing at the end as you wait to be ambushed in the vents

NOW, consider all of that and tell me that run wasn't great.

1:45 is still the best sa time with b/a, so 00 being only 2 secs away is very awesome. Heck only 9 people have got 1:47 or lower on sa.

Shane or Glen (I forget) did aztec 00 2:00 without getting the BA. Obviously health precautions were taken, but on a lucky run it could be done combined with a run like illus 147 and BANG you got 1:42 00

also, I did 1:45 with an insanely much harder strat than the current one, if the current strat was in use back then, I'm sure I had much less trouble with it and a good chance that I'd have lower. besides, there's really not much difference, just that you can live SA with lots more health left and thus theoretically can do BAless and still living with half health.

Finally one of Steven's old Aztec claims has been tied, without uber-strat. So i suppose it's very well possible he could've gotten low 1:30's with uber-strat. But uber-strat doesn't work so...Nice untied! :hat

Henrik, lay off the drank lol. the claim was 1:31. Ilari got 1:33. nicely done Illol. I like seeing players improving their own untieds. it shows that you start caring about maxing out the game more now than purely playing for lame points. I say get sub 140 on SA and 00. =)

not only are they good times, but without illu on aztec, the GE total time would be nine seconds slower. and he's a full 10 seconds ahead of bryan who has the 2nd fastest aztec times.

Three untied on the level in a so short amount of time is truly a feat, added to the fact the the previous WRs weren't considered as bad neither.
Really great!

Good job also Leonardo for your "hidden" WR (between two untied), but for someone who did 46/56/56 on facility, 23 must be cake right?
