Levels like Aztec, Frigate, Statue, Train and Control (have strategies that aren't "normal" (Can't think of a good term but I think you'll know what I'm getting at). Do you guys even remember how you discovered them?

I apologise if it doesn't make much sense, I'm not good at wording things.

Aztec = Bryan credit for the glitch
Frigate = dunno who for the warp thing
Statue = uhm dunno either but somebody invented the strategy rest of the route through the level has been the same for ages, val strafing as well.

Train = Henrik?
Control = Bryan, but there are multiple ways how this can be done..

What I meant was how did Bryan manage to get the glass door on Aztec to open the first time? Was he running from the guards and just hid round the corner to make it easier to kill them and they opened the door?

Or what made him shoot Natalya on Control the first time he did it?, why did whoever it was shoot Alec on Statue the first time, did Alex/Dan deliberately try to warp the pipes on Frigate or were they just switching weapons and it warped them? That kind of thing.

I think we'd have to credit Steven for the fact that guards will go to the spot you last shot from, if they got attracted, but haven't seen you.

I'm sure lots knew about luring guards to a certain spot after they shot bullets.  It was just weird that no one bothered to lure more than 1 guard to the glass on Aztec before I did.  Having more than 1 guard lured allows one of them a chance to run more into the glass and open it since both of them want to stand in the same spot but can't.

Well the pipe warp on Frigate was actually found by Anton Forsander when he and I were playing turbo mode.  Dan and Alex decided to go 1 step further and make a better route out of that for normal mode.

I'm guessing that Trent just randomly shot at Trev (maybe on a bad Statue run) and realized he spoke sooner, so that's how that was found.  Crazy since a lot of the time you fail when shooting at Trev.

I guess Henrik can explain how he found the leaving early strat for Train.

For Control, Karl had recently posted about a possible strat where Nat could open that locked door near her little comp in the 1st room.  I was trying for WR at the time and decided to shoot her while trying to pull off the possible strat.  So I noticed that her message came up sooner.  Soon after I shot her again later on in the first meeting and noticed the door opened up faster than it usually would.  I realized at that point her animations had nothing to do with how fast she opened the door.  This was also the case for the alarm at 2nd meeting.

Thanks for explaining that for me Bryan. Those things are something I've been curious about for quite a while.

Didn't Eddie do a post about the glass door opening while using Invisibility?

And about Train, I believe i was kind of bored while trying far-ouro-shot strat to get 1:42 so i decided to try find some new trick or just fool around like i usually do when i'm bored.
So i knew there were only 2 good ways to save time on Train, Either manipulate Natalya's messages, or get out and keep her talking.

So after experimenting with diffrent ways to leave without her following i tried leaving fast using gold PP7 to take out all locks and then shoot ouro, and 5 seconds later i knew i had found a new strat.

YES! :D  I did do that, then Steven Zwartzes tested things out on regular play and came up with his one-guard strat (which turned out RARELY worked) which he claimed a 1:31 on agent with, then soon after Bryan came up with the much much much more consistent and current strat using multiple guard.

Wonder if I hadn't made that topic?

Who came up with the bug throw? Or was that something that was known before serious speedrunning started?
