I have  a felling, bryan will continue to go after it, because after failing a pretty legit 35, 37 isn't that hot. Im sure he will keep going to at least tie it, and get the time the saved, if not a untied.

I know that Bryan won't count it, plus I know that even if it was truly completed with best time 37, Bryan would still go for at least 36.

it doesn't matter Brandon, what he said has only one chance to be correct anyway, because you can't know beforehand how many seconds an untied cuts, so only a 2 second cut would make it correct.

Well I ended up with 3 total 37s that didn't save.  It's too bad the game doesn't accept perfect endings like these pretty much had.

I changed the name of this topic to discuss best times that did not save (also which wouldn't have a cinema).  Is it fair to rank them or not?

MY THEORY

game checks time at certain time after you finish a level.
game keeps in mind state of objectives completed.. and if it should save the time therefor..
then AFTER that it checks the objectives status again for the first screen you see. so AFTER the time has been stopped, the level completes. a level that completed shouldn't be counted when the time was stopped primarily.. it would be like cheating. you don't know how much later it checks the objectives status, so you don't know what time it really is when it IS completed. it could be 38 by then (in this case). it's only justice for the game to screw you back when you try to screw the game in thinking you completed everything when you finished the level. blame the programmers for allowing the objectives to still become completed after the time has been checked (and thus checked if it is the new best time), blame yourself for trying to go faster than what you deserve.

you really can't think beyond that? if someone gets an untied by 2 seconds, now that Bryan DOES have 37 and the total is 1:16:00, the total would go straight down to 1:15:58, not to 1:15:59. tsk..

No, because we don't know how long it would've taken for the objective to complete. Could be 0:36, could be higher.

I currently am claiming Control Agent 4:06. The time didn't save, and there wasn't a cinema. Initially I thought I had failed a good run but all three objectives came up complete, and I was nervous to see the time. Well I went on anyways, 4:06.

So, if I had waited I could have thrown away a 4:06 and completed a 4:07. But 4:07 is a gay number and I'm happy with 4:06. Thus MY logic dictates that if all the objectives are completed, and whether or not the time was saved it counts simply for that reason. And don't you dare say that I'm wrong, I'm simply stating my own opinion on the matter (which I might add is open for discussion, I want this to continue).
The downside is that, of course, Wouter doesn't count it on the proven rankings.  That's beyond our control (no pun intended lololol).

Still, if this ever happens to me on Runway 00 (and I'm sure it will), I'm going to press on for a saved-time completion instead. I'd rather have it say Best Time: 0:37 than say to my friends I've done one second lower when they know the game doesn't lie. Programming errors ahoy!
Control 4:06 is a bad time for me anyways.

yeah like, Eddie Lovins got silo 00 1:56 and the time didn't save prolly because he was silly enough to watch the outro which killed too many scientists (I've done it before ). I don't care what happens on the rankings, all I know is the game doesn't lie, it's been programmed this way, and there's bugs and glitches.

how about some new logic: if I reach the finish, the time should count@!!!1

And it's also true that I'm not the only one to deal with it, it's just that I'm the only person it's happened to on Control.    Oh well, like I said to you I'll get like 4:05 or something. I missed the stairs.

Actually, I'm pretty sure I've heard it happen once before on Control.. Runway is the first time now but it's instantly becoming common with the new strat..

I'd say it's not the same as my silo run, because the outros have nothing to do w/the run itself. With runway we are talking about exiting too early for the game's liking, or something like that...
