cruise is no problem. I do not understand how people cannot strafe mishkin/val with cruise. I can cake 229s on statue old strat, cruising the ENTIRE time. Its easy. Especially on streets/archives. It shouldn't even come into play.

WTF is "cruise turning"? I don't even know.

as far as I remember getting 17 on agent with only the first door normally opened by guard being closed needed about as good a run as 16 just without the boost. so for sa/00 there's at least 1 more door that can be opened for sure, so if that's closed aswell, it easily adds up to a whole second lost, so imo there's no reason for those that get 56s with ALL doors closed not to get 55s. I'd even go as far as to say 55 should be reasonably cake and would take about 3 hours maybe. I'm just speculating from what you guys are saying, so if you're all not exaggerating then I'm not either.

^Agree. Henrik proved this for us with the failed runs he's shared with us.
Add to that the boost you need, plus the rare one in the basement after you open the first door. 55 SHOULD take no longer than, in Wouter's words, 3 hours at best.

The only thing i proved was that 55 needs a nearly perfect run. And 3 hours wouter? I'm probably the most consistent Archives player and i have played about 10 hours by now. I tell you, A good run and all doors opened is not enough for 55. At least not for me, could be with Alex's start.

i failed 56 5 runs out of 7 the other day, its rare that i fail 57s unless i do the all doors closed strat.

the other 2 runs i didnt get into the library :-p

ill probly give this a shot sometime soon, after egypt 47

If i get a descent start and get past the first guard door then i usually get a 56 unless guards in Nat area is being gay and backboosts you and stuff. So i guess we're pretty similar when it comes to consistency.

Anywyas, my point is that, even after getting 56 on pretty much every run for a billion hours and i still don't have 55 so it sure must need a great run to get it(except for those crazy fails where you @#%$ up everything and it still says 55 on the end screen.

Last time I played was 15th September.

Caverns took me almost 7 hours in total (3h 15th September, 2 hours tonight and 2 hours today). I got 1:04 with 3 backboosts once and the rest of my 1:04 could all have been 1:03 with a good ending. Like 2 or 3 of my 1:04 had good endings (boosted through the drones), but those runs I probably screwed up somewhere in the beginning.

1:03 isn't really hard, just get some boosts. 1:02 should be done anytime soon, don't you think?

Damn I had a real shot at 142 a few times. It's hard to get to Nat cleanly there after the last brake. 40 door pause speed ought to be good enough I would imagine. One of those 143s had a 16.10 ending.

Oh well I guess Karl can get it first since I won't be playing a lot for another 2 months.
