It's not a fail, SZ. Pause the vid and you'll see that he has completed all the objectives. The time glitch, like in Trent and Dan's vids, has prevented it from coming up as a best time.

maybe the objectives didn't fail, yet the game doesn't save the time. it must have a reason for that, so I'm not counting it, treating it the same as all other runs where it happened.

what if by some glitch the game saves 0:02 as your best time after a pauseout? lol

Clearly some gay glitch. I've had it happen on runway SA when the missile blows up at the last possible second. I think an level where there's lots of lag and an obj completes late it happens (Runway, Facility, Depot) other than that it doesn't happen. I think the time should count, since the mission was completed.

All Obj completed, mission status = completed, therefore the time is legit.

The thing that matters is, i pressed a and it went on to runway.

the level was indeed beaten

we do need a decision by the elite however, reguarding this glitch (its happened on silo also by thomas)

do non saved best times count, if all mission objs are completed and it proceeds to next stage?

I don't see why if you made the vid of the 57 run it shouldn't count even if the game didn't record it, your vcr did.

The only way it could be made a legit completion is to find out through the source code why the game does this, and then we can determine if it's actually legit. for all we know the game could be wrongly thinking it completed and therefor show that all objectives are complete, go on to runway, but NOT save the best time (and rightly so). Simply, the game is confused. It would be as if the hostages on frigate would escape 3 seconds after entering the boat, the run isn't legit, even if the objective is just as complete, since it happens after the run. you're just out of luck, time the ending better next time.

I'd say you're way off, Wouter. Say, what is required to beat a level? All objectives complete. And as far as I've heard, the game shows all objectives complete and even moves on to the next level, which obviously indicates that the level was indeed completed even though the time wasn't saved. We're clearly talking about a glitch problem here; a non-intended programming fault that somehow makes the game not save the time, but continue on as if the level was beaten normally.

You would have to decide for yourself whether you want to accept glitches to be legitimately taken advantage of in speedrunning or not, however, if you don't, then the same problem would apply for levels like Aztec, Statue and Defection in PD.

Without solid evidence it won't count in my eyes. You caked it anyway, so why complain, it won't stay a WR anyway. especially with a good Trev, 57 is way below the skill level desired for a WR.

I don't know what you ate Alex, but your last times/WRs are very impressive...Congratulations for all of them!!

As for the problem of the glitch, I think we should accept the time even if it's confusing for our mind to think that it's not recorded as thus by the game...
Obviously, the problem is coming from storing a time on a legit run, not from legitimately not storing a time from a run where many more glitches would happen (ending cinema + status completed + following mission).
Nevertheless Wouter, your point of view can be defended...

Wouter seems like the only one who doesn't think the time glitch should count. Maybe its not the game completing a non-completed mission, but where the game is getting confused is saving the time. Honestly, it should obviously count.

Also when I saw Trent as last poster in WR topic I shat myself.

It's stupid to assume the game got confused in saving the time. the chance is just as likely that it got confused in whether or not to show completed for all objectives, and unless someone comes with uncounterable proof, I will neglect to believe in it's legitimacy.
