Whilst most game related discussion will be going on in the team forum over on GLB, this topic will stay put here so that those who decided to be cheerleaders instead of signing up to be a player can follow our progress.

There are still a small number of player spots available though if anyone else likes fun!

Nightly training costs money as well, though you shouldn't train so hard that it keeps you from getting near 100 energy for the next game. Also, you can upgrade your equipment every 8 levels, and it's pretty expensive.

Ngamer's Game Three Analysis

NgamerAtWork (7:33:26 PM): FIRST QUARTER
NgamerAtWork (7:33:50 PM): wow, you can already tell this team is on a whole different level than the last two
NgamerAtWork (7:34:11 PM): good pressure by Jimbo on that pass
NgamerAtWork (7:34:37 PM): ah good, we got the stop after all
NgamerAtWork (7:34:47 PM): pfft, what a pathetic punt!
NgamerAtWork (7:34:54 PM): we at least have a major advantage there
JackOfWailing (7:35:10 PM): Ng visibly punts half the field
NgamerAtWork (7:35:17 PM): son of a gun, Not Blood
NgamerAtWork (7:35:27 PM): I thought you said you'd worked on your catching!
NgamerAtWork (7:36:40 PM): shoot, came up just short there
NgamerAtWork (7:37:07 PM): decent punt by Ng, but no one got down there to cover
NgamerAtWork (7:37:32 PM): nice stuff by pack
NgamerAtWork (7:37:56 PM): gosh, this Upthe Gut RB is dangerous
NgamerAtWork (7:38:10 PM): can't let him get out into open space
Q Breeeeezy (7:38:29 PM): they ran outside a lot more than I was expecting >:o
NgamerAtWork (7:38:30 PM): wow, great stop by Scorecoff
NgamerAtWork (7:39:32 PM): whoa, that booming punt came out of nowhere
NgamerAtWork (7:39:41 PM): don't blame Comet for not being back far enough
CometSH (7:40:03 PM): what did I do wrong?
NarigutitaBP (7:40:07 PM): was born
CometSH (7:40:11 PM): ouch!
NgamerAtWork (7:40:20 PM): Comet, the punt went over your head
DKK5 (7:40:31 PM): Comet's parents are not satisfied
NarigutitaBP (7:40:32 PM): i deserve a raise for beeing the best def player 2 games in a row being a lvl 2 player!!
NgamerAtWork (7:40:33 PM): but like I said, it was 10 yards longer than we expected
CometSH (7:40:34 PM): did it go into the endzone?
NgamerAtWork (7:40:51 PM): no, instead it pinned us back at like the 10
JackOfWailing (7:40:55 PM): nope, wasn't a touchback
CometSH (7:41:02 PM): well shoot, that's not very clutch of me
Q Breeeeezy (7:41:07 PM): unacceptable, Comet
NgamerAtWork (7:41:32 PM): crap, we come us just short of the first down again
NgamerAtWork (7:41:45 PM): great punt, but then bad coverage again
CometSH (7:41:46 PM): well I just put my return spec up a bit more
NgamerAtWork (7:41:58 PM): we're in trouble field position wise here
Q Breeeeezy (7:42:14 PM): work on some speed, agility, and vision too, Comet
Q Breeeeezy (7:42:21 PM): they can help with returning and with D
DKK5 (7:42:26 PM): I get the feeling that Morterback throws a lot of sloppy passes
Q Breeeeezy (7:42:35 PM): just don't worry much about tackling and pass defense abilities
DKK5 (7:42:43 PM): Because Shade has had a couple drops in the last 2 games as well
CometSH (7:42:52 PM): yeah, that's what I've been doing basically
NgamerAtWork (7:42:56 PM): crud, then made it on 4th and two
DKK5 (7:42:57 PM): And he has 31 catching and +2 sticky hands
CometSH (7:42:59 PM): although not so much with vision
NgamerAtWork (7:43:01 PM): was hoping for a missed FG
CometSH (7:43:05 PM): i guess I could do that a bit more
NgamerAtWork (7:43:35 PM): man, this Gut is blazing fast
NgamerAtWork (7:43:44 PM): takes them to first and goal
NgamerAtWork (7:44:01 PM): whew, lucky on that drop
NgamerAtWork (7:44:11 PM): and on that bad throw
NgamerAtWork (7:44:35 PM): whoa, and THAT drop
NgamerAtWork (7:44:42 PM): my goodness
NgamerAtWork (7:44:57 PM): haha, and misses the 25 yarder!
NgamerAtWork (7:45:09 PM): luck is clearly on our side tonight
NgamerAtWork (7:45:40 PM): good catch by N. Blood to get us moving
NgamerAtWork (7:46:06 PM): ok, now we got something going!
NgamerAtWork (7:46:45 PM): nooooo
NgamerAtWork (7:46:51 PM): Morterback picked off!
NgamerAtWork (7:47:00 PM): ah well, it's as good as a punt

NgamerAtWork (7:47:46 PM): SECOND QUARTER; 0-0
NgamerAtWork (7:48:23 PM): ok, let's shut down this drive he- oh no!
NgamerAtWork (7:48:46 PM): a huge pass to the right, TD Shockers!
NgamerAtWork (7:48:58 PM): drag's CB let us down there big time
NgamerAtWork (7:49:17 PM): Come should have given him more help though
NgamerAtWork (7:50:15 PM): oh no, and now Comet fumbles this return
NgamerAtWork (7:50:29 PM): lucky Red Bull was there to fall on it
Q Breeeeezy (7:50:30 PM): at least we can tell Bully he put a stat on the board!
Q Breeeeezy (7:50:38 PM): and a very helpful one
NgamerAtWork (7:50:56 PM): ugh, and a drop by Shade
NgamerAtWork (7:51:00 PM): seemed like a tough chance though
NgamerAtWork (7:51:23 PM): ha, John Bearder got in on that tackle
NgamerAtWork (7:51:41 PM): ok, we're past the 50, all downhill from here
NarigutitaBP (7:51:50 PM): who is bryan scorcoff?
Q Breeeeezy (7:51:53 PM): PDO
NgamerAtWork (7:52:03 PM): ohhh, excellent punt
NgamerAtWork (7:52:13 PM): that could be the first momentum changer of the season!
NgamerAtWork (7:53:07 PM): ok, great defensive stand there
NgamerAtWork (7:53:31 PM): whoo, big run by Neo
NgamerAtWork (7:53:37 PM): I can tell this will be a productive drive
NgamerAtWork (7:54:25 PM): bah, unproductive again!  saved by a great punt though
NgamerAtWork (7:54:46 PM): Ng is really making a difference in the field position game
NgamerAtWork (7:55:28 PM): yet another good stand by the D
NgamerAtWork (7:55:34 PM): now get something going, offense!
NgamerAtWork (7:56:26 PM): ugh, we come up half a yard short AGAIN
NgamerAtWork (7:56:37 PM): my leg is being worn out!
NgamerAtWork (7:57:53 PM): whoa, forced a fumble!
NgamerAtWork (7:58:02 PM): the D is doing everything possible this game
NgamerAtWork (7:58:57 PM): yes!  down to the 20
Q Breeeeezy (7:59:28 PM): Our foam finger prices just went up 5 dollars!
RyanWhiteGoose (7:59:33 PM): nice QB
NgamerAtWork (7:59:42 PM): ugh, DJ smooth had forever to run if he had held on to that one
NgamerAtWork (8:00:57 PM): huzzah, Smooth rushes it in for the TD!
NgamerAtWork (8:01:01 PM): that ties it back up
NgamerAtWork (8:01:05 PM): 2 minute warning
NgamerAtWork (8:01:34 PM): ugh, what awful kick coverage
NgamerAtWork (8:01:50 PM): we haven't gotten separation all game
NgamerAtWork (8:02:22 PM): crap, and now they have a big drive going!
NgamerAtWork (8:03:27 PM): whew, defense held in the end though
NgamerAtWork (8:03:36 PM): limited to a FG, not bad
NgamerAtWork (8:04:06 PM): one minute to work our offense
NgamerAtWork (8:06:38 PM): HALFTIME; 10-7

NgamerAtWork (8:15:32 PM): now to start the SECOND HALF
RyanWhiteGoose (8:15:38 PM): JON!
RyanWhiteGoose (8:15:41 PM): wooooo
RyanWhiteGoose (8:15:42 PM): SEA TEAM
NgamerAtWork (8:15:48 PM): glad that we get the ball to start, could be the difference maker
NgamerAtWork (8:16:14 PM): important 3rd down here to set the tone for the second half...
NgamerAtWork (8:16:27 PM): ah, and Moose pulls it down!  now the drive is going
NgamerAtWork (8:16:51 PM): this running on first down seems to be working well
NgamerAtWork (8:17:17 PM): UGH, half yard short of a FD again
Neo26988 (8:17:31 PM): Yeah pretty ridic Jon
NgamerAtWork (8:17:47 PM): I'm glad we went for it, but ouch!  got unlucky to turn it over
NgamerAtWork (8:17:52 PM): still, field position is fine
NgamerAtWork (8:18:20 PM): D should be well rested and ready to shut them down
NgamerAtWork (8:19:20 PM): yes, good stop there
NgamerAtWork (8:19:53 PM): here comes a stunning drive!
NgamerAtWork (8:20:27 PM): wow, Ravenloft with an excellent run there
NgamerAtWork (8:20:43 PM): great catch by OB
NgamerAtWork (8:20:48 PM): we're starting to catch fire now
NgamerAtWork (8:29:17 PM): ok, driving down to the 30
NgamerAtWork (8:29:46 PM): shoot, had to punt
NgamerAtWork (8:29:56 PM): pinned them behind the 20 though, should be set up well for our D
NgamerAtWork (8:30:29 PM): whoo hoo, 3 and out!
NgamerAtWork (8:30:35 PM): we're really stepping up
NgamerAtWork (8:30:55 PM): ha, returned to the 35
NgamerAtWork (8:31:03 PM): that's what having no punter will result in
NgamerAtWork (8:31:54 PM): bah, inches short on a FD yet AGAIN!
NgamerAtWork (8:32:08 PM): but holy smokes, Goose made the kick!
NgamerAtWork (8:32:17 PM): no one else in the league could have hit from that distance
RyanWhiteGoose (8:32:23 PM): thanks Jon!
RyanWhiteGoose (8:32:39 PM): I was pretty happy about that
NgamerAtWork (8:32:52 PM): McBeefsteak was awesome on that coverage
Q Breeeeezy (8:32:58 PM): sure was
NgamerAtWork (8:34:00 PM): ok, need to stop this drive

NgamerAtWork (8:34:09 PM): 4TH QUARTER
NgamerAtWork (8:34:13 PM): 10-10 score
NgamerAtWork (8:34:52 PM): awesome, stopped them by a yard
NgamerAtWork (8:35:44 PM): bah, 3 and out
NgamerAtWork (8:35:53 PM): great punt though helps to make up for it
NgamerAtWork (8:36:40 PM): ohhh, Hasse Halfback was a beast there
NgamerAtWork (8:37:18 PM): whoo, Come broke up that pass, that was close
NgamerAtWork (8:37:37 PM): missed from 41 yards, can't believe they tried that
NgamerAtWork (8:42:57 PM): whoo, here we go now
NgamerAtWork (8:45:09 PM): hm, Paddy Jo is leading a good drive here
NgamerAtWork (8:45:17 PM): maybe we should sub him for Morterback more often
Neo26988 (8:45:30 PM): You just wait
NgamerAtWork (8:45:58 PM): down to the 20, need to put pts on the board now!
NgamerAtWork (8:46:23 PM): yes, to the 10!
NgamerAtWork (8:46:52 PM): yes!  Shade TD!
NgamerAtWork (8:47:00 PM): whooo hooo
NgamerAtWork (8:48:45 PM): time to run out the clock
NgamerAtWork (8:50:41 PM): whoo hoo!
NgamerAtWork (8:50:46 PM): what a heart-pounding game

Jon, I like how you talked about my CB giving up the TD pass, but not how he forced the crucial fumble!

You really need to be close to 100 energy at the start of each game.

If youre going to be inactive for anything more than a couple of days then put your training on relaxed before doing so (some exceptions to this - kickers etc).

There are several guys on the team with key roles that are basically unplayable for the game today because their energy is so low.

Also people with 80 something energy on game day who are starters will get less playing time than they might otherwise expect. Try and manage your training so youre always near/on 100 for each game.

If you're losing a lot of energy in a game, make sure to use some skill points / set training to stamina!!

You can only make up 30 a game, so if you're consistently losing more than that, start building stamina, or check the team forum to see if QB/shep want you on a lower play intensity for a particular game.

Ngamer's Game Four Commentary

FIRST QUARTER
- wow a new WR kickoff by Goose; got all the way down to the 8 yard line!  that work is really starting to pay off for him now.
- I like when we start out on D; it's clearly the strength of the team, and I expect us to set the tone on this opening drive.
- Xavier returning the punts, wha?  was Comet just too tired, or is this a permanent change due to drag only upgrading on speed and hands this season?
- wow, some smothering blocking taking place on our first drive here.  I can already tell we're going to have a much easier time moving that ball than we did last week.
- ha, Junior Say-Ow!  these guys may not be great players, but I like their sense of humor.
- whoa, awesome punt, all the way past the 10!  in fact, Ng just out-punted the L9 Big Tommy by 4 yards there; let's see if he can keep it up!
- ohh, Tommy outdoes my last punt by 2 yards.  I'm not worried though; his leg's going to be worn out in no time, given how overmatched his offense is!
- holy crap!  holy crap!  first I can't believe they left Not Blood that wide open, but I'm even more impressed at that burst of speed to make it all the way to the endzone.  what a performance!
- haha, yet another 3 and out forced by the Sea Team.  that third down was a dominating play; had pressure on the QB from both ends, forced a long throw across the whole field, and Comet was there to defend it perfectly.
- nooooo.  dang it Morterback, we're trying to turn this into a game of field position, an INT on our side of the 50 is the last thing we need.  I hope Paddy Jo is warming up on the sidelines already.
- another great pass defense by Comet.  this guy is the next Deion Sanders!
- ugh... work on those hands, Axel!
- well now, that wasn't a punt to write home about, Ng.  good thing I'm leveling up tonight!
- Scorecoff was huge there- three defenders in the way and he still reaches out to drab the RB down for a loss.
- labeling that one was a pass "to" Axel is pretty generous.  I might have called it a pass "in Axel's general direction" or "to the side of the field where Axel was located, more or less"
- ugh, that 3 and out leaves us in dangerous territory.  this is why I'd like to see us pass more on first down.

SECOND QUARTER (7-0 Sea Team)
- haha, wiffed on a 26 yard FG!  that's why you shouldn't have a L1 kicker, you dummies!
- ugh, a Neo fumble, and our D is forced right back out on the field!  this is horrible
- whew, forced another impressive 3 and out.  now hold on to the ball this time, guys!
- oh wow, a great catch AND evaded the tackle.  Not Blood's having the game of his life!
- yikes, another great defended pass by Comet.  much like when I left for Virginia, this has become the DK and Comet show tonight!
- good to see paddy Jo in the game.  not so good to see him throw it way over Shade's head
- wow, Come makes the tackle a yard short of the FD.  what great awareness of the sticks.
- well, I can see why Big Tommy's the best punter in the league.  unfortunately it doesn't do him any good; the rest of the team is so shabby that he's just outkicking the coverage by 10 yards every time, and not getting anything out of it.
- great blocking by Shade and Moose on that long run.
- JF Dub, what a monster in the middle!
- haha, Comet in there to force another 3 and out, what a superstar!
- I take back my earlier comment; even when Tommy squeezes out a puny little 22 yarder like this one, he STILL outkicks his horrible coverage team!
- aww, Goose misses the 42 yarder.  no shame in that though, was surely a tough chance.
- get the ball back with 38 seconds left.  I wish we'd throw here instead of the run we just called.
- aww, and that's the half.

HALFTIME

SECOND HALF (still 7-0 Sea Team)
- ha, their coverage is so poor we nearly get back to the 50 on that kickoff.
- Paddy Jo still leading the charge?  I was glad to see Morterback get a rest earlier, but I'm surprised he isn't back yet.
- Comet AGAIN?  he's a one-man wrecking crew!
- another great catch by N. Blood to move the chains.
- whoa, what a huge run by DJ Smooth!  great blocking helped spring it, but he's got some serious speed to break that off as well.
- down to the 7... we need a score here, boys!
- YES!  Paddy Jo touchdown to... wait a minute, True Blood?  Paddy must have thrown the ball so hard it got stuck in Blood's facemask, and then he fell over backwards into the endzone!
- gosh, we're nearly impossible to run on.  I love it.
- our O-line is so dominating... not only does no one get to the QB, but it seems we have good success with nearly every run up the middle.  I'd like to try working a little more north-south into our running game, to take better advantage of that line
- holy smokes!  now that one was just a bad pass, but still, what great work by Comet to come down with the INT!  we can certainly settle the debate on most valuable player for this game.
- dang... as good as our D is playing, and even though we've managed a few scores, I'm not happy with our inability to move the chains on offense.  my leg is going to fall off at this rate.
- oh no!  I know his name is packing interceptions, but he can't gamble like that!  thank goodness he had the speed to track that WR down eventually.
- for the first time all game they're moving the ball on us.  hard to blame the D though; they've been on the field way too long, must be exhausted.

FOURTH QUARTER (14-0 Sea Team)
- oh man, stopped them dead on 3 straight runs from the 2, but then give up the TD on a 4th down pass.  what the heck happened there- we had our safeties 20 yards away from the ball on the back endline when they only needed to go 5 yards.
- wow, it looks like allowing the score only got us angry; we're driving right back down the field with determination now.
- yeeeees, got the ball out to Shade in space for the first time, let him get into that second gear.
- haha, and just like that we drive the nail into the coffin!  if only we could play offensive with that intensity more often.
- hard to believe they're still punting down 14 with only 5 minutes to play.
- didn't gain many yards there, but awesome job of eating up the clock
- oh yeah, proud of our D there... gave up some yards, but then forced the TO on down.  it would have been a shame if they had scored a sympathy TD there at the end, would have looked like a 21-14 nailbiter when in reality we had control of the game throughout.
- hoooray Sea Team!

Ngamer's Game Five Commentary

FIRST QUARTER
- another WR kickoff by Goose, all the way to the 6 this time.  and Blood with the tackle?  nice.
- ha, Comet gets in there and breaks up another pass.  they'll learn not to throw in his direction!
- whoo, nice run Ravenloft.  hopefully that improved north-south strategy QB set up is going to pay off
- 34 yard punt!  what a Leg!
- nice stuff by Hasse.  they keep getting lucky to keep the chains moving, but our D is playing well so far regardless.
- whew, they dropped what would have been another FD.  but ugh, made the 37 yarder!  not used to seeing teams make FGs against us.
- the Sea Team trails for the first time all season, oh no!
- really nice completion to Shade there, especially since Morter was hurried.  interestingly, that's only the second time all season one of our QBs has been hurried (and they've never been sacked)
- holy smokes! two rushes stuffed, look like we're sure to punt, and then BANG, TD to Shade out of nowhere!  you can tell that Morterback's arm strength has improved drastically since a few games ago.

SECOND QUARTER (7-3 Sea Team)
- ugh, that's the second tackle Alex has missed.
- bah.  we're not allowing the big play, but again they're moving the ball pretty steady on us here.
- whooo, nice pass defensed by pack.  but crud, they make the long FG AGAIN, this time from 37.  oh well, still have the lead!
- great return, but then drag coughs it up!  thank goodness Blood was Johnny on the spot... he's turning into a real special teams dynamo!
- bah Morterback, don't throw into triple coverage!
- another booming punt by the Leg!  that's sure to keep the momentum in our favor the rest of the half
- YES, our first 3 and 0 forced.  this will swing the field position back in our favor big time.
- ha, we wind up only 5 yards back of where we punted from.  need some points on the board here!
- great catch by Shade in double coverage.  ack, but Goose misses the long FG.  if only we could have gotten a couple more yards...
- awesome, another 3 and out.  that's what we can do when we keep our D so fresh.
- uuuugh, that's 6 straight passes, both resulting in 3 and outs.  what happened to running first to set ourselves up better?
- but we force another 3 and out ourselves; our third in a row.  good stuff; now let's get some runs together, finish out this half with the lead!
- ehh, didn't eat up much clock.  but booming punt from Ng!  and great coverage by Dick Hatch down the field.  should have no trouble holding down their 2 minute offense from here.

HALFTIME

THIRD QUARTER (7-6 Sea Team)
- good return there- solid blocking all around.
- I know the running game has been tough sledding, but I still don't like throwing long all three downs.  thanks heavens for the Super Leg of our punter, keeping us in the field position game!
- good stop by the D there.  I like our bend but don't break style of play.
- Shade continues to amaze me with his ability to pull down passes in tight coverage.
- jeez, and he does it again!
- NOOO, that's the third time now we failed to convert on third and short.
- another piece of great coverage by Dick Hatch; give that guy a gold star.
- yikes, nearly picked off!  that could have been killer.
- most legs would be burned out from overuse, but Ng's is still booming!

FOURTH QUARTER (7-6 Sea Team)
- yuck, a huge run.  Comet couldn't quite shed the block, and Alex didn't get there to cut it off.  this could be trouble...
- we always stiffen up when they get into range of the red zone, I love it.
- crap, made yet another FG!  I can't believe this guy.
- Bonebreaker had a fantastic block on that return; props to him.
- very bad offensive drive there, but we come back and stomp them for another 3 and out.  need to move the ball here, guys!
- whew, finally pick it up on third and short.  let's keep this rolling!
- nooooooooooo!  Paddy Jo picked off by Rodgers; this is awful!  and they get a nice return on top of it...
- Hasse has been a beast in the middle of the line today.  come on, need to stop them once more.
- this Riverside QB has been putting it right on the money every time.  we're danged lucky they keep dropping the ball half the time.
- this is ok... just need to move the ball a little here, get out of this hole, and then we'll be set up for the winning drive later.
- Morterback with a strike down the side to keep our hopes alive!
- and Raven rips off a huge run!  we can get points on the board here yet, come on team.
- whoo ho, another good Raven run.  we're into can't-miss territory for Goose now, I love it!
- oh man, 12 yards when we needed 11 for the FD.  finally luck is turning in our favor!  have to punch it in now, put this one out of reach.
- YES!  over to Raven for a two yard score.  that puts us up 5, and right at the two minute warning.  what a game!
- oh man- I almost had a heart attack when that ball got over Comet's head.  good thing he was able to track the guy down.
- force them into a 4th and long... and stop them half a yard short!  hoooray!
- Raven gashes them to the left for a big gainer, then to the right for some more.  these will help make up for those -1s and 0s in the first three quarters.
- one more run... and there's the game!  talk about your barnburners, that was intense as they come!

FINAL SCORE: 14-9 Sea Team
