The Pelican Brief (1993)

Sigh. The acting is decent at best, really, and the movie itself is boring and predictable. 5/10

Virtuosity (1995)

Lol. Denzel was okay here, but nothing close to his best work. He comes packaged with a bunch of nothing, including an incredibly safe, ridiculous performance from Crowe. 4/10

Harvey (1950)

good fun for all.  james stewert can do no wrong and the movie as a whole had a genuine warmth to it.  8.5/10

Deadline (2009)

meh.  i am always on the lookout for the next REALLY good creepy movie, but this was not it, though it WAS decent.  the set-up was good, and the execution was almost good (think What Lies Beneath and Scream with some The Others thrown in) but the end was some really weak sauce.  this movie had a good idea and hit the sadness/drabness pretty spot-on, but the ending was too much like a teenage novel read.  :\
6/10

Tangled (2010) - Wow, I just really loved this movie. I pretty much stopped watching Disney animated movies after Pocahontas, and this movie really surprised me. Didn't really expect the humor; it felt a bit too witty for a Disney movie but I'm not complaining. Beautifully animated and a fun story with charming characters. Okay that sentence sounded pretty gay but you get the point!

Source Code (2011) - Really good also. I'm a big fan of those parallel universe / multiverse theory movies that cause you (or at least me) to read up on it later and see how different timelines intersect with each other, similar to Primer/Dejavu. Kinda had a Donnie Darko feel to it with Jake Gyllenhaal dealing with quasi-time-travel aspects.

Kindergarten Cop (1990) - Not a tumor / 10. :)

Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) - I think I was slightly disappointed but still enjoyed the film. Hepburn is absolutely gorgeous, but I guess I was expecting the film to have more of a Roman Holiday feel to it. There were a few scenes I didn't care for and seemed to drag a bit, and I really didn't care for Rooney's portrayal of the Japanese man at all. Still a classic movie and I'm glad I finally got around to seeing it!

Now that I finally finished watching the entire Sopranos series, I should be getting to watch movies more regularly again now!

The best thing about "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is, imo, Henry Mancini's score.

Swiss Family Robinson (1960) - can't say I enjoyed this one. 4.5/10

Good Bye Lenin! (2003) - intriguing plot but at the same time uneven and sometimes too predictable. 7/10

Cube (1997) - very Sawish. Unsatisfying conclusion though. 7/10

Dressed to Kill (1980) - too Hitchcockian, like many other De Palma movies. Michael Caine is terribly miscast. 6/10

Martyrs (2008) - wtf

Tron: Legacy

really fun movie!  the actors had fun (especially Olivia Wilde) and seemed to be happy to be a part of this.  the scapes and effects were great and the music, though a bit too close to Zimmer's stuff, was still good.  loved Daft Punk's contribution to the feel and tone.  cool cameo from said French duo as well!  overall just plain fun for this guy.  8/10

Thor

YEAH!!!  comic book movie done right!  funny, action packed, not too cheesy, and decent supporting cast!  predictable, but do you really go to comic book movies to have your life changed?  no.  another great ride and plus i got to see it with 5 other Eliters!  YEAH!!  8/10

The DaVinci Code

not a bad thriller.  lulzy story, but it was still enjoyable and somewhat suspenseful.  i never bought McKellen's character as a villain, but Hanks' character counter balanced that well as his role was solid.  Audrey Tautou is great to watch and add in the fact that she isn't too harsh on the old eyes... decent thriller in maniller... 7/10

Sex, Lies and Videotape

looool, terrible movie.  zero point and funny to watch.  3/10

Broken Blossoms (The Yellow Man and the Girl)

wtheck.  sad movie.  the Yellow Man was so funny with his expressions and pipe smoking, that it seemed to contradict what it was supposed to be portraying.  other than that, just plain sad movie.  :(

also saw

Before Sunrise

hmmm... i think this film wanted to be something great, but it just seemed pretentious to me.  wasn't terrible, but it wasn't amazing.  nice cinematography and beautiful locations.  6/10

just watched

Trancers

lol, prob the cheesiest Terminator knock off of all time!  even a beautiful 22 year old Helen Hunt couldn't do much to save this movie.  not the worst sci fi cheese i've ever seen, but no where near the top i should say.  5/10

The Creature From The Black Lagoon

wow!  great movie!  i was expecting far more cheese and lulz story/acting.  instead i was treated to decent acting, good story and great monster scenes!  absolutely loved this!  9/10

Witness For The Prosecution

WIN!  great movie!  fun courtroom drama with a great twist ending that i honestly didn't see coming at all!  i doubt anyone will anticipate the finale of this one!  one of my favs of all time!  9/10

Cliffhanger-
because Stallone played Rocky, i will give this movie a 2/10

Before Sunset-
pretty much the same as the first, though the production seemed tighter and the story was very well contained.  still seemed pretentious much like the first, but somewhat interesting still.  7/10

Notorious-
slow, was expecting more, but still good.  out of all the Hitchcock movies i have seen, this falls somewheres in the middle or slightly higher.  7/10

The King's Speech-
good/very good movie.  seemed like a weaker Best Picture winner of the past 15 years, but i suppose it was as good as the other nominees... wasn't blown away, but a pretty enjoyable watch.  Geoffrey Rush = +2  :)  overall grade 8/10

The Human Centipede-

screw this!  thought it might be interesting.  the movie does actually try to be completely serious, which isn't the problem.  WHO THE F DESIRES TO MAKE THIS TRASH?  this writer/director needs to go away... FOREVER...

Sunrise:  A Song Of Two Humans-

magnificent film!  nearly flawless, imo.  perfect depiction of a man's struggle to remember his first love.  tempted, falls and ultimately reconciles.  i absolutely loved this movie!  9.5/10  :D

Kung Fu Panda 2-

skadoosh.  sadly, no.  i cannot believe how underwhelming this was considering how good the first one was.  action didn't seem as wicked and the plot was so re-hashed, that this could've been any of a thousand other movies.  too bad, i was really excited.  let down 6/10

Sherlock Jr.-

not bad.  not sure why Buster Keaton was considered so funny, as it really isn't him that produced the laughs here.  it was the incredible stunts and effects!  absolutely unbelievable!!!!  a fun watch.  7.5/10

Roman Holiday-

fun, fun, fun, with a pleasing ending.  recommend this if you're in a playful/good mood.  a few things that i liked:
-Audrey Hepburn is ridiculously gorgeous!!!
-Audrey Hepburn's waist was ridiculously small!!!
-Gregory Peck is fantastic!!!
-Audrey Hepburn is ridiculously gorgeous!!!
-the entire film was done in Rome! (neat-o)
8.25/10

Yeah, I heard that they were supposed to be controversial and new ideas for horror movies.  Neither was what I thought they would be.  Both just were ugh and stupid.

Obchod na korze (The Shop on Main Street) (1965) - A very rewarding foreign feature. Had some pacing problems but overall very good. 7.5/10

Shallow Grave (1994) - hilarious. 7.5/10

Breaking Away (1979) - perhaps forgotten today? Very good and, for being this kind of film, unusual movie with unusual directing. Unpretentious and sympathetic. 7.5/10. Good cast including a very young Dennis Quaid.

Alphaville... (1965) - a fascinating film, although very jumbled. Godard has made better pictures. Worth a look nevertheless. 6/10.

The Expendables (2010) - I regret I saw this. 3/10.

Glad you liked Breaking Away, Acke! It was filmed at my school and that bike rice is still an annual event that we're known for across the country!

Since I last posted in here:

Whatever Happened to Baby Jane - very good
Limitless - pretty cool. Definitely one of the better ones I've seen this year.
The Fast and the Furious - entertaining
2 Fast 2 Furious - not as good but still entertaining
Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift - ehhh it was alright
Fast and the Furious - probably my least fav
Fast Five - pretty fun, probably the best of the 5
High Fidelity - not bad, probably much better if you're a big music fan
Shane - ehh it was alright, wouldn't want to watch again though
Trouble in Paradise - pretty good and surprising for its time since the Production Code wasn't involved AFAIK
Clueless - not sure why I watched it, but it was kinda good in a weird way
Thor - okay superhero movie. I <3 natalie portman.
Pirates 2 - Average
Pirates 3 - Average but cool fight scene
Pirates 4 - I guess also average?
Hangover 2 - Still funny like the first, just a bit over the top
Unknown - Not as good as Taken, but still exciting
Xmen First Class - really good superhero movie and I'm not even a big xmen fan
No Strings Attached - silly but I saw it for Natalie :)
The Next Three Days - exciting thriller, pretty good
Swingers - this movie was money, baby
The Adjustment Bureau - not sure how I feel on the ending, but I was captivated the whole time. Made me think

a few more movies i've seen:

Hot Shots Part Deux-actually had a couple really LOL sequences, though most of it was forgettable.  4/10

Steamboat Bill Jr.-once again, the ending action scenes were incredible, which really made the movie good.  7/10

Three Colors Trilogy:  Blue-very much reminded me of Kubrick's style.  very engaging and captivating, cool start to the trilogy.  8/10

Three Colors Trilogy:  White-meh, not sure why, but this movie just kinda passed by and didn't really have a lasting impression on me.  i would def revisit this series again to catch what i might have missed.  6/10

Three Colors Trilogy:  Red-good movie.  great conclusion and again was a movie that kinda kept your attention with it's style and "where's this going" game plan.  a nice pay-off at the end and some cool imagery and play on tones and colors.  8/10

Shrek 2 - never saw the sequel until now, but I enjoyed it. From what I remember, definitely not as good as the original but still had a few laughs
The Day of the Jackal - pretty cool true story about as assassination attempt on the President of France in the early 60s.
The Killers (1946) - really good noir; been awhile since I've dabbled into film noir and this movie made me remember why I love this genre. Great story and film.

The Crying Game-
sure didn't make me feel good afterwards.  saw the "twist" coming the instant it presented itself (early in the movie).  yucky, messed up, crazy people... :(

An American Werewolf In London-
not a bad take on a commonly done story.  funny, and at times serious, interestingly presented.

As Good As It Gets-
Jack Nicholson was great!  Helen Hunt couldn't have been more beautiful.  Jack Nicholson was GREAT!

Shock-
had a great time with this little noir film.  good, sinister fun.  :)

Mar Adentro (The Sea Inside)-
interesting take on the assisted suicide debate.  personal opinions aside, this movie was actually very beautifully crafted and managed to be very interesting to watch, despite the subject material... recommended.

Friday the 13th (2009)-
was always a fan of the first couple of the series, and the rest of the sequels were hit or miss with great parts and horrendous parts.  this "reboot" (apparently after 10 or 11 in the series, someone thought it NEEDED a rebooting) was just completely unnecessary.  nothing remotely memorable (usually a creative kill will suffice, but all kills here were pretty basic and boring) and the dialogue was inexcusable for the 2000's.  bad movie.

Leprechaun-
:|  how there are six of these movies goes beyond reason and makes me wonder why God hasn't come back yet.

Black Swan-
absolutely terrifying!!!  i knew going in to this that Darren Aronofsky doesn't make easy to watch movies.  true to form here, he scared the poo out of me.  Natalie Portman deserved her Oscar, she was heartbreaking to watch.  the way that this movie was done reminded me a little of The Devil's Advocate, but completely it's own thing.  not sure i could ever watch this again, as it made me feel very bad afterwards.  seriously, my spirit was thrown off just a little and i don't want to feel that way again... ever.

The Unborn-
absolute garbage.  written and directed by David Goyer, who has done the screenplays for:  Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and Blade, among others and still this movie was just awful.  Gary Oldman couldn't even save this pile.  :(

Beerfest-
lol'd a handful of times.  nice to see unfamiliar faces doing something kind of funny.

Cars 2-
i just can't see why people want to hate this movie.  good action-CHECK, top-notch animation-CHECK, i've wronged my best bud and now i must make amends storyline-CHECK, STILL Pixar animation-CHECK... why the hate people?!?!  i thoroughly enjoyed this movie and though it def isn't Pixar's best, it is STILL better than most others as far as this type of movie goes.  7/10  "Pistachio ice cream!!!"  also loved the short that was presented before the movie.  makes the ending to Toy Story 3 a little more "feel good"  :)

Bottle Rocket-

one of the best comedies of all time.  Wes Anderson is a cinematic genius.  every little word of dialogue, every little movement (scripted and ad-libbed), every little nuance that Anderson gets out of his actors really creates a sense genuineness in his stories.  This is hands down Owen Wilson's greatest character and is probably Luke Wilson's greatest character as well.  Owen Wilson really steals the show here.  great supporting roles by all the other players and the soundtrack is one of the most appropriate i can remember for any movie.  absolutely brilliant movie!  10/10

Taegukgi Hwinalrimyeo (The Brotherhood Of War)

really good movie about the Korean aspect about their own civil war during 40's and 50's.  really get the impression that this movie had a big budget as the war scenes and the locations seemed really big.  pretty brutal too.  reminded me of Braveheart a little with the intensity of the battles.  a really good dramatic center story that was fairly gut-wrenching and sad.  a good film that i would recommend to any war movie or history lover.  8/10

The Best Years Of Our Lives

i was floored by this movie!  absolutely great movie about the awkwardness of coming home from WWII and life just being different.  i could very much relate to the struggles of the three main characters and there was a realism to this movie that nearly brings one to tears.  to me, this movie was nearly right up there with Grapes of Wrath and i would HIGHLY recommend this movie to anybody.  10/10

Transformers:  Dark of the Moon-
good fun with everything you'd expect from a Michael Bay movie.  far less confusing and a few decent semi-twists.  great fun on the IMAX and 3D.  9/10 on the fun scale.

Almost Famous-
Kate Hudson sucks.  minus her, the movie was decent.  6/10

Last Action Hero-
how i hadn't seen this yet is beyond me!  great movie!  so many LOL parts and probably one of Arnie's top 3 or 4 movies.  8.5/10

Tonari no Totoro (My Neighbor Totoro)-
<3, cute , simple, cute, <3, Catbus, great animated film.  9/10

Super 8-

Original?  Not really.  Fun?  Maybe.  I wanted to love this movie so much, but was harshly disappointed.  It felt too much like Spielberg's movie and not enough of Abram's.  There were some decent moments, but overall I felt that nearly everything I saw has been done WAY too much for this to feel fresh in any way.  If you've ever seen Spielberg's War of the Worlds and Reiner's Stand By Me, then you've seen nearly every last scene from Super 8.  This movie isn't bad in any way except for it's complete unoriginality.  Seriously Spielberg, GTFO of already established and already good directors' movies!!!  Abrams-please do it yourself next time...

5/10

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance-

James Stewart, John Wayne, do you need another reason?  This was a truly great Western and both Stewart and Wayne play their typical roles to perfection.  A marvelous movie.  10/10

Before Sunrise - pretty decent romance film. Hard to put what I feel into words though.

Before Sunset - ditto from above. Really not sure how/what to think. Both films were enjoyable... part of me was almost angry but I guess the viewer is probably supposed to feel upset in some way

Harry Potter DH part 2 - woooooo really good. Saw the midnight release which was a very bizarre experience.

Horrible Bosses - some great performances. It was a bit tough to look past the sheer absurdity and ridiculously of most of the bosses and how unrealistic they were, but some great laughs and definitely a terrific summer comedy

one of the better psychological thrillers that i have ever seen.  in many levels this movie is as good as Silence of the Lambs or Seven, but with a more horror feel to it.  genuine and some great skin crawling moments, not sure why ONLY 22 people have checked this on iCheckmovies.com... very good

^interesting fact:  many of the crew that helped make The Lord of the Rings also were involved with this movie.  :)

20 Million Miles to Earth (1957) - not to be compared with "Them!" (1954) which was much more enjoyable than this 50s sci-fi/monster movie. Weird script (takes place in a Sicilian fishing village of all places) and with plenty of bad actors. 5/10

The Ice Storm (1997) - should've seen this a long time ago. 7.5/10. Fascinating although not particularly moving. The film feels colder than the ice storm in it. Originally directed by Ang Lee.

The Wild Bunch-

thought it would be better.  cool action scenes, but it seemed that the movie relied to heavily on those scenes to carry the movie.  i never really cared for any of the characters either, which usually means that there was something amiss in the character development/writing.  6.75/10

Harry Potter 7.1-

i thought there were some decent things going in this part.  the FX have always been fun (though shallow and meaningless a lot of times) and i can kinda understand some of the "wonder" that might draw in some of the younger folk that haven't read the books.  there was enough to keep me interested, but as with the rest of the series, it just doesn't resonate with anything that i like in story-telling and i just find it pretty easy to forget.  rated within the series though, i'd give it a 8/10

Harry Potter 7.2-

small spoilers!!!

read above.  biggest LOL finale/battle/face-off, etc of all-time.  great FX again, but same as 7.1 imo.  i'd give it a 7/10, ending was 4/10

happy to have seen them all, prob won't revisit ever.

Kind Hearts and Coronets-

didn't really find myself all that interested for some reason.  nothing particularly wrong with the movie that i could tell, just didn't really grab my interest.

Howl's Moving Castle-

an amazing movie.  incredible animation, insane cinematography, brilliant and beautifully made.  somehow this movie was (easily) able to engage that child-like sense of wonder and awe deep in my spirit with nearly every scene.  just an incredible movie.  easily merites my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION and effortlessly earns a 10/10  :D

Serenity

excellent movie!  beautiful continuation from the (shortly lived) series.  in most ways this movie was far better than it could've been and was a blast watching it loud on my home theater system on blu ray.  def adding to my collection.  10/10

Monsters (2010)

If you haven't heard if this, you need to.  Takes on a slightly different perspective than District 9, which made this feel less of a cheap knock-off and more of it's own well-crafted creature (no pun intended).  The end wasn't as memorable as I would have expected given the tense build-up, but is easily forgivable (as is the so-so FX) due to very well-played out story-telling.  It certainly didn't hurt either that the score was so subtly engaging.  Highly recommend this quiet treat.  9/10

Inception-

2nd time I've seen it and it def was even better this time around.  So much neat cinematic muscle-flexing that it I find it so hard to NOT be impressed with nearly every aspect of this glorious movie.  So much fun trying to keep up with the story and what it means to the viewer and I was easily blown away by the visual giganticness again.  I have been considering this for a while now, but I have determined that Nolan is my favorite director of all time and his skills are so sweet that I eagerly anticipate any future projects he might be involved with.  10/10

Let Me In (2010)-

actually a good remake, imo.  a thought the Swedish version was slightly better, but this was good and very fun to watch in it's own right.  still not sure WHY the Swed version was remade, but glad to report that this version is def worthy.  8/10

I Saw The Devil-

WTF?!  the craziest torture/blood-fest i have ever seen (except perhaps for "I Spit On Your Grave").  basically takes from very distinct parts of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Silence Of The Lambs" with blatantly obvious shout outs to "Seven" rolled into one WTF'sville!  this managed to keep my eyes glued to the screen just to see why this was all happening and how it could possibly end, but THIS IS NOT A FILM FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!!!  BEWARE!!!  extremely bloody/brutal/disturbing!!!  one of those movies that is so insane, after you've seen it, you will NEVER forget it!

Totally agree with this Shawn. The ending was the most intense part of the whole book and they managed to royally f"#% it up in the movie tbh. Nice FX :)

Le salaire de la peur (The Wages Of Fear) 1953-

SPOILERS!!!

I'm not sure how this was suspenseful at all.  Every time it tried to be, one of the characters would do something completely and utterly ridiculous and take any tense moment and destroy it.  The "bridge" scene:  WHY THE F WOULD YOU SIT AND PARK ON IT KNOWING IT WAS ABOUT TO FALL?!?!  LOOOOOL @ running over your partner (reminded me a little of a scene out of Austin Powers), and the end?!  Really?!  Retarded movie with a ending written by a 3rd grader.

Grizzly Rage-

LOL.  :(

The Wolf Man (1941)-

not the best classic monster movie, but done well.  7/10

The Conversation (1974) - much better now the 2nd time than it was when I first saw it like 7 years ago. 8/10.

Sleepers (1996) - reminded me of "A Time to Kill" with its pseudo-ethical message or whatever. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Acting was top-notch nevertheless but also way overlong. 5/10.

Enter the Void (2009) - Same director as "Irréversible". Can't say I enjoyed this. 4/10.

Une femme est une femme (A Woman Is a Woman) (1961) - enjoyable nonsense with plenty of references to contemporary films. 6.5/10

Before Sunrise - pretty decent romance film. Hard to put what I feel into words though.

Before Sunset - ditto from above. Really not sure how/what to think. Both films were enjoyable... part of me was almost angry but I guess the viewer is probably supposed to feel upset in some way

Hey, just saw those a few weeks ago!

La Grande Illusion (1937)

good movie, managed to mix a few different points of interest into a single war movie, which was nice.  8/10

House on Haunted Hill (1959)

csb.  very fun!  a few scenes made me shiver (which is EXTREMELY rare for older movies) so this gets a 8.35784/10  :)

also i have watched about 10 or so shorts from the top 50 shorts list.  some of the better ones i will link below as they are very good imo.

Balance - Balance 1989

Kiwi! - Kiwi!

Signs - SIGNS

Goldeneye-
watched this with about 7 other Eliteres in VA!  we had a great time shouting out game/movie differences etc.   :v

Union Station-
a nice little noir picture.  simple and fun to watch.  7/10

Lonesome Dove-
four part mini-series.  Duvall simply steals the show!  so much drama and needless heartache, but Duvall almost always diverts the seriousness away and makes you smile.  7/10

Face/Off-
LOL!  this movie sucked so bad!  Travolta and Cage seem to have some fun, but so overly absurd, that it was almost painful to watch!  3/10

The Reef-
another good "shark" movie.  nearly on par with Open Water, if that sort of thing freaks you out.  ;)  7.5/10

The Oxford Murders-
meh.  pretty silly, imo.  5/10

The Naked City-
noir movies are so hit-or-miss for me.  this one was fairly boring and just not that entertaining for me.  a decent movie though.  6/10

Misery-
how is Stephen King considered the "Master of Modern Horror?"  his stories are just not that scary.  an ok movie, but mostly for King fans only.  another meh.  5.5/10

Stalker-
some movies are far too artistic for me to get any enjoyment out of.  cool imagery, but WAAAAY over my head.  :(

The Court Jester (1956) - surprisingly good. Great fun watch; last 10 minutes were hilarious. 8/10.

Lonesome Dove (1989) TV mini-series - agree with afan about Duvall stealing the show. But this is a solid and intriguing series that delivers. Some horrible production issues but what do you expect when it is originally made for television? Good cast. 7.5/10.

Le fantôme de la liberte (The Phantom of Liberty) (1974) - an instant favorite. Probably the best film I've seen this year. I completely adore the message of this surrealistic satire from the father of film-surrealism himself, Luis Buñuel. Very well executed as well as Monty Pythonly-funny. Maybe not super-original but a cinematic delight nevertheless, loaded with unforgettable sequences. Featuring Hugo Drax and Mr. Largo (two Bond villains)  :)

The Bible...in the Beginning (1966) - trash; one of the worst big studio films ever made 2.5/10

Scream 4 (2011) - pretty decent. 6.5/10. Love the meta aspects of the story as well as all the references to old horror movies. I think I rank this as the 2nd best Scream after the very first although it's been years since I saw Scream 2 & 3.

City of the Living Dead (1980) - more gore than plot. 4.5/10.

Rango (2011)
10/10 animation EASILY!  7/10 story, but seemed like a 6/10 execution.  not hard to watch, but no reason really to ever re-visit.

Tenkû no shiro Rapyuta (Castle In The Sky) 1986
another pretty easy to watch animation.  imo, not nearly as good as Howl's Moving Castle or My Neighbor Totoro, but still has plenty of Hayao Miyazaki's and Disney's magic in it to be enjoyed.  7.5/10

Bride Of Frankestein (1935)
perhaps i am just not that big of a fan of the Frankenstein series.  it was ok, but i didn't enjoy it as much as i have enjoyed other classic monster movies.  6/10

Der müde Tod (Destiny) 1921
great movie!!!  great story and beautifully and frighteningly executed!  9.5/10

Bom yeoreum gaeul gyeoul geurigo bom (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... And Spring) 2003
meh.  beautiful scenery and locations, actually quite insane!  pretty meh story though, just wasn't that intrigued by the journey i guess.  6.5/10

The Phantom Of The Opera (1925)
i loved this movie!  everything that i enjoy in old horror movies!  :D  9/10

Watched Brazil yesterday.... I did not enjoy this very much. This movie reminded me of Blade Runner a bit, where I know I'm in the minority for not liking. Oh well. Jonathan Pryce was good but I was hoping for more DeNiro who had very little screentime.

Man, Woman & the Wall (2006)

I saw this on Netflix Watch Instantly last year.  Very original story.  Right up my alley.  I think there's a nude scene and a little graphic dialogue.

Since my post about a month ago (excluding Brazil):

Stranger Than Fiction - just alright. I think I was expecting it to be more of a comedy

Adventures in Babysitting - just plain awesome! I love Elisabeth Shue and the humor and characters were pretty fun. Gotta love Chicago! Wish I had seen this when I was younger

Captain America - terrible, probably my least favorite "superhero" film ever

Who Framed Roger Rabbit - didn't care for this. I think the characters just all annoyed me and the story was boring. Obviously revolutionary for its time for the mixture of live action and animation, but nothing special to me.

The Goonies - classic adventure. Glad I finally saw this after all these years.

Scream 4 - an okay installment to the franchise. Doesn't touch Scream 1 or 2, but it wasn't too bad.

Bad Teacher - pretty retarded overall but I had low expectations going in. At least I got to stare at Cameron Diaz the whole time.

30 Minutes or Less - a pretty fun, f***ed up movie that probably gets my award for the most loose ends at the conclusion of a movie. ever. Very funny overall! Probably on par with Horrible Bosses.

Super 8 - not sure if I cared for the ending. Just "okay"

Crazy, Stupid Love - a really good rom-com. Great cast and a solid screenplay.

Waiting... - nothing too special or great about this comedy. I think they took the dick jokes a little too far though.

The Thing - many "WTF" moments throughout in this classic film. Definitely interesting

The Iron Giant - I thought this was made a long time ago but it happened to be '99! Nice animated movie, good story, no real complaints other than the fact its a kids movie with nuclear holocaust mentioned. wtf.

Mary and Max - very strange and quirky style of humor for this pseduo-animated/puppet/how does this work animated film. Very enjoyable and a unique story.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes - the only other Apes movie I've seen is the 1968 original. Rise was a pretty good flick and set itself up well for sequels. Very impressed.

Persona - At least with Bergman movies I can follow along the whole time (whereas with Fellini I want to stab myself in various facial areas). This movie was interesting and I can see why most people regard it as his masterpiece. Still not sure how I felt about this one, but it makes me want to look up various interpretations.

Fanny and Alexander - I'm determined to finish off the IMDB top 250 soon, so here we are with more Bergman! I think this movie could have done without the fantasy elements. I was pretty confused at the one part with the chest until I saw after watching the movie that there were fantasy elements. Sorta went over my head there! I felt kinda the same way I felt about The Green Mile that it could have been better if it could be believed to be a true story. Hmmm...
