Lakers proved in the finals they are by far the most talented and best coached team in this league. Utah was a joke, they got it done when they needed to against Houston, controlled their emotions which the Nuggets thought they could do... and couldn't, and were simply a far better team than the Magic.
Sure, the Magic COULD be up 3-2 right now. If they had the poise to make those shots or free throws. Saying a team could have done it doesn't change the fact that they didn't - that is experience and a big part of the game.
They didn't get a chance to prove it against the Cavs, and I don't believe in strict transitivity in sports, but if the Cavs couldn't pull it together against the Magic, a team who time and time again fell apart in the playoffs, I don't see a one-man team with the "coach of the year" (lol) topping a 7-man team with the REAL coach of the year.
Here's to hoping Jackson and Ariza come back next season. I think the Lakers will be fine if they choose Ariza over Odom, and wont be shocked if they do.
