Hopefully I am using this forum correctly. You will notice this is post #1. I signed up to ask one question, out of curiosity. "Ask Any GE Question You'd Like Here!" seems like the right place to ask this question.
I am not a GE speedrunner. I'm not good enough, and I'm fine with that. I do enjoy watching the talented players that are, and I keep up with the records and rankings from the perspective of a fan. That being out of the way, this is my probably-ignorant question.
I recently watched the Dam 00Agent world record runs by Mr. I. and Mr. Rutzou on YouTube, starting the video's side by side at the exact same time. While this requires a bit of trial and error, it isn't that hard to get both video's playing from the first couple of seconds at virtually the exact same time.
While the video quality of Mr. I.'s is much better than Mr. Rutzou's, it seems that Mr. Rutzou's completion of the level is noticeably faster than Mr. I.'s, which is evident while watching the runs progression. Yet, both have the record time as 1:55. It seems that this is impossible, since Mr. Rutzou's time seems to be a full 2 seconds faster.
I'm not asking this question to disparage either Mr. Rutzou or Mr. I.. They both are obviously world class GE speedrunners and I find their talent fascinating. In fact, I am going out of my way to be as respectable as possible, if that isn't already evident. It's merely a curiosity that I fail to understand, and am wondering if anyone can explain what seems to be to me, a very obvious time difference. Maybe this has been addressed sometime in the past. Watch the videos side by side as I have, and check for yourself. Thank you.
