Alright guys the Florida meet is coming up soon and I wanted to give you a update. I'm going to be revamping the Goldeneye tournament. We will still do the normal 2/3 double elimination matches. Whats going to happen will add more depth, strategy and intense play. The three new additions to this years tournament will be...

This will start before a match. Usually people just agree on a stage and go there, really no thought involved just a pick and go. This is where stage striking comes into play. I'm going to limit the first match to the 5 most popular stages...

It starts off by striking one stage to not play on. This is turn based so the next person will strike till there is only one stage left. That will be the level to start on. You may think we are still picking but this is where strategy comes in striking a potential stage a player may be good at and vice versa. So instead of agreeing on a stage this will come into play, this will show you can't be good at just an initial stage, you'll have to be ready for either one. If the two players cannot decide to pick first. A 2/3 rock, paper, scissor match will be played to decide what to happen.
After the first match is over, all stages will come into effect and Banning will be initiated. The winner of the match gets to ban one stage for the remaining of the match. The loser picks the stage, except the one the winner bans. If the loser wins the next match and goes to the third match, he gets to call a ban. There will be two banned stages now. The loser picks any avaliable stage and the last match is played out. This will be followed through the entire tournament.
Lastly matches going for 1st and 2nd place along with 3rd and 4th place matches will be best 3/5. These spots deserve more than just normal matches since you have to be the best to get there. If you come from losers bracket to face the 1st place guy you must win 2, 3/5 matches.
It should be a fun new experience and really help out GE multi, taking it to a whole new level. normal rules still apply
