Nice, b-splines Did a fair amount of work with splines and your equation with two paramters, mu and M seemed oddly familiar to a conversation we had before where we talked about putting a normal-ish curve with two parameters to smooth the shapes. Pictures fun, etc., skimmed quite a bit as well spent maybe 30-45 mins on it I'll check out more later.

This truly is a cool story, bro.

If any of you wanted to scan through my thesis, just to see what I've been researching (the topic) and doing (writing the thesis) for the last long while, you can download a free PDF copy from my university site here. The title of my thesis is "Constraint-Based Surface Deformation", which will only really make sense if you read it.

My area of research is computer science, and my specialization in graphics and modeling. To describe my thesis in a nutshell, users draw stuff on a surface and it deforms to match their drawings. This isn't exactly new, but I do it in a way that works for multiple surface representations, is interface-independent, and produces fast, smooth, and local results. Wheeee.

If nothing else, my thesis has some neat pictures in it. It's 171 pages (geez), so I don't expect anyone will actually read it (hey, if you do, kudos to you! Talk to me about it!). If you have questions, you can ask them here or contact me on AIM or something.

The masters program was very difficult for me, so I'm very proud of this achievement. This is my life's work to date; the most difficult (and rewarding), most far-reaching, and definitely the most time-consuming work I've ever produced. Some of you expressed interest in seeing my thesis, which is why I'm posting about it like this.

Nice topic, I'd like to watch (okay, see) it... but you didn't include a way to actually get the document?

I think it would be much better if Infil were to record himself narrating the entire thing, inclusive with pictures, charts, and all that fun stuff!

I have the best voice in the elite, I should narrate it and we'll turn it into a full length feature with several panoramic shots of University of Calgary.
