Hello folks!

As you may know, Derek is making a new look for t-en home page (with a small help from me!). We discussed a little, and got to the conclusion that we need a new banner, as the one we have right now is very outdated. Who is familiar with photoshop/corel/mspaint/whatever here and is willing to help us out? It's nothing complicated. All we need is a new and clean banner that will show what we are about.

The dimensions are 450x250~ pixels. Answer here or send an email to me (greeeeg@gmail.com)! Your help will be very appreciated and you might even get a prize!

I think the old banner is good! But maybe it could get better though, but I guess thats up to the photoshop guy

Matis, it's just something similar to what we have right now, just a little more "good-looking". Put a Bond and a Joanna there, with anything related with records. It doesn't need to be a genious idea.. just something simple and clean will do it.

I would agree you guys get up with adam and he can make some sick graphics for you.

Maybe the 3-d inside of a certain weapon in the game.

Maybe a frigate picture...just because. Jimbo would like this I believe.

Um what else...all I know is Adam is good with the computer programs and is currently in classes. I'm sure they're others with such skill but some of the stuff I've seen with the polygons-etc have been really good.

Lets just give some ideas...a spinning 3-d "Goldeneye" like the beginning of the game. How about the inside of a pp7 or golden gun in 3-d would be neat.

what about having pictures of say the top 50-75 players revolving? like 4-6 at a time and rotating them out every 10-30 days or so. just plain good pictures, like the player smiling, showing the fun in speedrunning. i know some of the active people around here might even be ranked lower and we could use their pics too like Dunkmaster, Rutzu, Howlingsworth, Maxi-sweetcheeks (i was just talking about GE. PD would obv have a few different faces). obv there would be several in the top 75 that probably wouldnt merit a photo, but you all could decide on that...

like 3-4 pics on either side of the page going in a vertical line or something... just an idea...

Ideas will be considered after the site gets online, because some stuff have changed, and we won't have enough space for everything. But that's a nice idea Shawn!

I will issue a formal banner contest soon, for $$$. So there's your incentive to start on something...

And sorry for the delays on rolling the site out - 60-hr work week + 2 broken computers has made it nearly impossible to find time for it. But it's pretty much done.

1st priority is to get rid of the link to Wouter's GE Proven Rankings seeing as they are extremely inaccurate and he no longer updates them.

I have to agree, its not like they're needed anyway. Well I guess its good in a way to see what times has been proven but when the proven ranks are not being updated I just dont see the point to even have them. I guess also someone else who has the time could take over the updating, but I think it have to be someone who have been around for a bit atleast knowing how the levels works etc.

it's a fulltime job pretty much and since I'm not getting paid for it it balanced out of my priority list. almost everything gets proven these days anyway because most players now aren't so lazy to just go like "you'll just have to trust that I got this" nor the others being like "who cares it wasn't taped, we know he's capable of it, it's possible, we trust his word for it, PS INSANE TIME I DON'T THINK ANYONE WILL EVER GET CLOSE!!!"

We all understand that you are too busy to accurately update the rankings. No one is mad at you... we understand.

And that is why they should be removed from the main page.

Proven rankings are just pointless with the new proof policy, regularly updated or not. I'd be like 20th on PD, and that's not cool

What we can (and should) have is a big list of which times are proven, just like cyberscore. It's good to keep track of anonimous people with decent/semi-decent PRs, or to be aware of what WRs or close to WRs the great players didn't got taped. I know that Thiradell has been tracking WRs (and good PRs as far as I remember), but a system would be better. The problem is the same, though: how do we know when the player will have proven the PR/WR so we update it on the list?

I had already covered the things mentioned (the bad TS link and removal of the proven records page). I'm QA'ing the new site right now, so this weekend I will push it across, barring any issues.
