I was in agreement with Wouter. At first, it seemed pricey for that load of junk. Then, I cursorily added things up and came up with a number in the 80s. I guess that's not too much of a difference. Although in the midwest, everything is cheaper... so who knows. I'm with wheat, cut out the frickin' diet sodas if not sodas altogether. One of the worst possible "foods" to put into your body. You know, it's used to clean blood off the street after traffic accidents. And corrosion off of, say, car batteries. And, if you placed a piece of steak in a bowl of soda, it'd be gone after three days! Major red flag.
LOL @ the need for two pics/angles of your purchases.
So I'll chime in with my diet:
Breakfast: Either two bowls of Quaker Oatmeal Squares in 1% milk OR one of [toast/english muffin/bagel] on the weekdays. Two or three eggs over easy with [toast/engl. muffin/bagel] on the weekends, occasionally with TURKEY bacon and/or different types of cheese. That or whole wheat pancakes. Orange Juice always.
Lunch: Pick 'em between salads, yogurts, sandwiches (typically lunch meat or leftover chicken). Usually lunch includes baby carrots or grapes on the side. Sometimes potato chips. Sometimes just grilled cheese sandwiches with or without lunch meat & soup.
Dinner: Obviously the most varied thing. I try to eat wild salmon once a week, chicken meals 1-2 times/week, beef/steak meals 1-2 times/week, pasta once a week, sometimes whole wheat... Almost all of my cooking involves my two favorite vegetables, onion & garlic. 2-3 dinners a week are accompanied by a fresh salad, which I just toss whatever I happen to have. Usually some combination of romaine lettuce, baby spinach, strawberries, red onion, tomato, cucumber, sprouts, crumbled bleu cheese.
Snacks are either:
Tortilla chips with FRESH salsa, not that canned or jarred crap. The kind that's just peppers, onions, tomatoes, & herbs all diced up (It should be in your produce section. If there's one thing I recommend above anything else, it's this. OFF THE HOOK). When I'm adventurous I load up my chips with cheese & jalapenos and stick them in the oven for 5 minutes.
Almonds, usually salt & vinegar flavor.
Pudding or ice cream (what can I say?)
Buffalo chicken wings in tandem with watching sports (having your own deep fryer makes this option really cheap and attractive).
If there's one thing I try to avoid, it's eating processed foods. This goal is made easier by the fact that I do not own a microwave. I also try to buy cage-free eggs, and free-range animal products. My grocery bill usually isn't much more expensive than Jimbo's.
