This is a Guinness world record?

I mean... wtf?  He even gets a 10 minute break every hour?!?!  I rented Paper Mario back in college and played it 44 of 47 hours just because I wanted to beat it without having to rerent it.  Someone research this and break it during the next no-sleepathon or something.

What the hell did you do for 47 hours? I have one file that I have 100% beaten, with all the letters delivered/star pieces found and such and that's standing at only 40 hours!

10 minute breaks every hour? For pete's sake, half of the Elite could smash that "WR" without breaking a sweat.

We should all do it.

I mean, me, Clemens, Henning, Lovins, whoever else, all sitting in a room going for WRs nonstop. We'd need some waiters and whatnot who could bring us soda and pizza, but there are enough eliters to go around. Man, we'd get insane WRs and break THIS "WR" at the same time.

Is that the first file you ever got 100% on, Jimbo?

Ive never beaten PM, so I dont know, just was curious. I dont think I could handle playing a game for 44 hours though, that seems really insane to me. The longest I have ever stayed up is like 28 hours. I remember when I was younger I would play Final Fantasy for like 12 hours a day for 4-5 days straight and I thought that was a lot. Sure I have played Goldeneye for ages if you add it all up, but thats in 4 or so hour sessions each day.

If anybody noticed, it said he only took 4 breaks during that record, drank no coffee, and ate dates. Yes dates, strong stomach for the win.

I saw that last night, cool that a topic has been made about it. Of course the first thing that popped in my head is I could beat that! Ha. But yeah, I have to use meds to sleep so I'd just skip a night and stay awake easily. Maybe go 10 AM one day to 6 AM 2 nights later = 46 hours.

Easier said than done though.

This brings us back to my brilliant idea of having an "elite.net" house. This would probably be broken every other 5 days and or more because the hours keep adding up going for the "WR." LOL @ 44-47 hours.
OG Strat master also donator to the elite - Implemented the idea of WR/PR's to be displayed by "video" on the MAIN PAGE of the elite in the late 90's - Goldeneye N64 World Champion 57/60 WR held at 1 point - Sold the James Bond of boats called "Sunseekers" for 4 years went on to start my own brand

I have no idea what I did for 44 hours (I said 44 of 47 straight hours, I think I slept/ate for 3 of them).  I had beaten the game, and I was still searching for some yellow quadrilaterals (forget what they were called, star pieces I assume), but I don't remember anything about the game.  Wasn't a fan.  Was a good weekend, though.

It is nice to know that Guinness includes video game accomplishments, even if they are pathetic.  72 hours will come soon.

Is that 40 hour for any game? If so I played starcraft for around 48 hours straight before when i was really into it, and I couldnt sleep cause I was doing alot of bad things. I know people who played some games over 60 hour straight. so i dont see that as an accomplishment lol

I think being on drugs "disqualifies" them, according to the rules of Guinness.

He died because he was too busy playing the game, and not eating anything or so. From what I can remember at least.

Kingpin, it was actually something like 50-60 hours. I read the news story. Stop exaggerating.
