Everytime I try to open a link- be it to watch the tour of Ngamers house, free art films from ampland or any link at all that needs to be prompted to run a video before watching it, instead I get this message:

Do you want to save this file?
The file you are downloading cannot be opened by the default program. It is either corrupted or has an incorrect file type. As a security precaution, it is recommended that you cancel the download. How can I decide what software to open?

In which case I'm asked to save the video as opposed to just watch it like I used to before. I've fooled around with the settings of the video players I have but nothing seems to work, and google didn't really solve anything. Can anyone help solve my video deprived dilemma?

You should just give up on using computers.

Wtf that's wierd. You should just choose "Open with - Windows Media Player" and WMP should run it or if you have some other player..

You would think so but it isn't working like that. I don't think it has to do with how shitty I am at computers (in the grand scheme of things I do in fact lick computer balls), however there is some other force at work here and the more computer-literate of the lot often solve my dilemmas.
