I havent played ET but it seems to me that most people who bash it are people who werent alive when it came out and think it sucks because the graphics are terrible by todays standards. If you were there when it came out, maybe it was good for the standards of 1982 or whatever. Its just a really old game that looks silly today, but there are games which imo are probably far worse... such as Dragons Lair. Kind of a popular game to bash on... and with good reason. It is seriously the biggest pile of shit I have ever had the misfortune of playing. But then there are a lot of games that should be despised more, such as Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine and the entire Halo and Metroid Prime series.

Darnit Clemens, that's just ridiculous. Comparing the debacle that is E.T. to games that came out 20 years later doesn't make any sense. It's fine if you hate those GameCube/XBox games a whole lot, but there are valid reasons why they are popular and loved.

Well ET is the biggest joke of video game history.

To those who don't know the story heres the jist of it bsaically. Or look it up on wikipedia

- They got the licensing rights on July 27. Spielberg wanted the game to be released for christmas the same year. The deadline to start production was september first. Thats like 35 days to develop an entire game based off a super big hit movie. Normally atari games took 6-7 months not 5 weeks.

- Since such a small deadline, there was no play testing with an audience.

- there are millions of ET cartridges burried in new mexico. This is not a joke

about 4 million copies were produced, 1.5 million sold. 1 Million that were sold were sent back to atari LOL. Atari lost 100 Million dollars on this game. It basically caused the whole video game crash and ended atari.

I dont think anything could be worse then that. Also the game is boring dull glitched and has 0 elements of fun. Biggest FAIL ever.
