edit--on various things my entire sportsbetting roll is on the line either via MLB/NFL prop bets or ridic week 1 action (god damn I've got a lot of week 1 teasers--those ridic -3 -130 lines force this and I'm not a big teaser fan but damn) but that does mean there are busto possibilities! and I did bet the Lions. Um go Bears?
edit2--best bets are a bit of a brag-- I got the over on the Harrison props before the site changed them (they did realize Hardesty was done for the year--but didn't change the #'s to correlate so it would be quite the unlucky loss [the last time that happened I got owned though--variance :/]). Beat--max bet on props was $100

Most Overrated Team AFC
Baltimore Ravens Yeah, a great case can be made for the Jets but the tiebreaker here is that I don't see everyone picking the Jets in the AFC title game whereas I do see a lot of Ravens pickers.
Most Overrated Team NFC
Chicago Bears They have 2 starting offensive tackles who shouldn't be in the league. The LT got moved cause he can't run block and now his problem is that he can't pass block. I wanted Mendenhall but NOOOOO. The RT should've been booted out of the league 2 years ago and is only starting literally by default. That O line is gonna suck for awhile cause Kreutz (perennial pro bowler C) is going to leave after this season to FA (he's already said he's gone). God Damn It. Only good thing is that Lovie Smith will FINALLY get fired. 4th and 1 on the opponents 33 behind with 50 sec left and 3 timeouts? MUST PUNT THE BALL!!!! ah sports the one fun thing where guys get paid millions and still not only have no idea what they're doing but when presented with ideas on how to win more games immediately dismiss them!
I'm betting against the Bears every game this season.
heh @ Jon doing that 6 team thing. The Raiders (slash Chiefs slash Broncos slash the whole NFC West) scare me cause they could fluke a 8-8 wild card berth and the Lions are really only a year away which is a bit risky [see Tampa Bay Rays]
I've only got the Bills and Browns being the only two "locks" to miss the playoffs at the moment though with the AFC/NFC West's being so ungodly bad and playing each other that some shit team out of there's got a great shot at fluking some 10-6 record. However if I was to take 6 I'd go Bills, Browns, Redskins, Jaguars, Bucs, and would lean the Bears for the last one.
I'd bet against to make the playoffs (given odds based on current projections)
Texans, Jets, Ravens, Bears, Redskins, Cardinals, SeaTurkeys, Giants, Eagles
I'd bet to make the playoffs (given odds based on current projections)
Panthers, Lions, Steelers, Titans, ... the Rams were so close to firing one as well but had a limited roll to use. That one's gonna haunt me if it's close late.
now time for my COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT AND MEANINGLESS playoff picks!
AFC (in order of seed) Colts, Chargers, Steelers, Patriots, Titans, Jets (thought about Raiders for shock value)
NFC Vikings, Cowboys, Saints, 49ers by default (simply the team with the least amount of issues--and one of those is the TE going after a WR), Packers, Falcons
The O/U of playoff teams returning is about 7 as I believe last year it was 4.
That leaves the most useless ridiculous superbowl prediction ever [guaranteed to be wrong].... (btw if Norv Turner didn't make the on field decisions and a mathematician did instead I think San Diego would have 3 of the last 4 super bowls... Just saying)
Vince Young celebrates his new heisman trophy with a super bowl trophy leading the Titans to defeat the Vikings with the key play being Albert Haynesworth ending Favre's career just before halftime in an epic come from ahead 24-21 victory.
