FUCK SAKE. i'm getting pissed off now I choke on the most stupid parts when i'm on 750k runs of ttfaf. I was doing amazing uptil synth death, it felt like I should have had a 780k run by rights, but then i just butchered the whole song after synth death, missed all the easy SP's, and I got a fucking shitty 738k.

The other day I got a gay 744k (while missing in grinding scales under SP of all fucking places) aswel. this 750k really needs to come before I hurt somebody.

And so does Cliffs of dover/rock you like a hurricane/nothing for me here/the way it ends, FC's also.

edit: about damn time!
ttfaf - 751863, I only JUST got it, but it's still a 750k so w00t

edit; 800k soon. im getting insane consistent at everything upto bridge1, I want those regular 1000note streaks. then I am going to suck it up and use Practice mode for the first time ever on this song, barre intro. and work on tapping the more difficult parts, and 1 handing those insane intro's I can hit most of them as it goes at the moment, I never leave green through the entire song even without SP, so i'm either just blagging it real well or i';m doing something right, for a change.

750k, nice work! You sound like you might even be getting close to an FC (1,000-note streaks).

From the intro onwards to "Bridge1" is actually pretty easy, I am SOOOOOOOOOO far away from even thinking about attempting an FC, basically I can FC everything that requires no tapping, otherwise I need to learn how to tap the more complex parts. Wow i'm honored you would think that, lol. My problem is that i'm stubborn and won't learn to tap anything. I just try to 1 hand absolutely everything, apart from the intro. I could have progressed a lot faster than I am if I actually started tapping easier sections for consistency but I don't really believe it helps with it comes down to finger speed, I just struggle with everything for now but should pay off in the end when it comes to pinky speed, co-ordination etc.etc.

I don't think i'll ever really stop playing ttfaf until I get at least 900k though, LOTS of people have got that now, doesn't seem toooooo far out my reach, although I could just be kidding myself. but thanks, lol made my day

Well I managed to 5-star TtFaF two more times, so I know it wasn't just a freak accident. Got a 567k then a 586k run.

Congrats Kingpin on 750k!

Parts I tap:

Intro, of course
Weird YRG BRG ORG BRG before Bridge I.
In both Bridge I and II, I tap the Y-O-Y-O-R-B-R-B-G-B-G-B parts. I never get it one-handed.
The ending with holding Red and tapping B/O

It'd be cool to learn more sections via tapping.

NICE!!!!!! consistent five stars are always fun:D good job, i knew you would do it anyways, didn't doubt ya at all.

quote:
In both Bridge I and II, I tap the Y-O-Y-O-R-B-R-B-G-B-G-B parts. I never get it one-handed.

Yeah this part! is one of the parts that i'm inconsistent at because I refuse to tap, if I could hit them both i'm sure a consistent 750k is possible for me now, I get consistent 730k's at the mo so I really need to sort that out!

I just have an inability to tap though, I have to elbow strum also, I can't even strum the ttfaf intro then bring my hand up quick because my right hand will end up tapping the wrong fret, or just no fret at all. lol

I think you would make for some VERY good competition, Id like for you to upload more scores instead of just the 100% ones, cuz I reckon you would be able to get 750k in hardly no time at all and basically just end up overtaking me again in the rankings, so if you did, it would motivate me more to get better aswel. and get those damn fc's out the way.

On that note "nothing for me here" fuck that song seriously. I hit all the hardest parts but missed in a stupid easy part resulting in yet another -1, so frustrating, on the up note.. at least it's a short ass song!

Hehe, there may have been a time when I could take you, but you've progressed at such an ungodly pace that I doubt I'll ever be as good as you.

As for tapping the intro, I usually just elbow strum the red and start tapping (already have both hands on the frets) but I am also able to consistently do it without an elbow strum. The trick is to hit both the red and yellow with your left hand and bring your right up for the blue. If you only hit the red with your left hand there won't be enough time for you to bring your right hand up to hit the yellow.

Uploaded a score for every song, though some scores are still terrible (random first run through the song on PS2). Here are some FCs I got that I did not have on the Wii.

Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll - FC - 247k. Overlapped the SP on the descending triplets so I lost an activation. Oh well.
Helicopter - FC - 351,550 - yeah I know this is your song, but I was just happy to get this after 2 tries.
Hier Kommt Alex - FC - 460k - fun song, glad I got this one.

Songs that can go FUCK THEMSELVES for lots of -1's and chokes.
Avalancha - I blew two runs at the end in those stupid B-Y-R descending SP notes. ARGH. I hate playing this song.
In the Belly of a Shark - Missed some dumb note near the beginning, didn't restart, and FC'd the rest. Hate this song too.
In Love - This song is more gay than most. Stupid random grace notes and fucked up rhythm. I don't even remember where I miss.
Prayer of the Refugee - I FC'd this song on the Wii, but am having problems with it now. Gotta hate the quick chord changes
Pride and Joy - It'll come eventually
Black Magic Woman - all luck!
3's and 7's - one gay miss somewhere. I have 386k.

That list was longer than I thought. How depressing.

100%: 35 (The Seeker)
FC: 34

I should be able to get some of these, re-FC Ruby, get Minus Celsius and I'm around 40. Oh yeah, haven't tried Cherub Rock yet. Weeeee. No playing today though. I overdid it yesterday and NEED to study.

I almost blew a whole year at college because I didn't study, i was more into the xbox instead, and I failed an exam it cost me £300.00 to retake it again, lol. fuck

Prayer of the refugee, I cannot fc this song either anymore, hahaha When you get better, you get worse.....
In the belly of a shark... I find it much easier to use the hammerons now, not sure what you do, but yeah this song is also gay.
Black Magic woman.. I havn't fc'd this either, I was happy with a 100%, i pretty much just strummed a lot faster than I needed to on purpose because I didn't want to play that song anymore at that point.
Pride And Joy. chokefest. I fucked up the SP path on this song, and i'm not looking forward to re-fc'ing it again, lol.
3's & 7's is just as easy as like slow ride to me though, i dunno why.

It may look like i'm improving fast, but I'm really not, not considering how much i've played! it really pisses my gf off lol.

You need to re-fc "Cities on flame", lol you lost a tonne of points with the overlap of SP. I'm not gonna play on the xbox at all for a week. It could be a good thing anyways, i hear a lot of stories of people that do better after a break. gives hands time to heal or something,.

black magic woman is easy 4th person to FC on wii. HAH nah you were right about all luck. Just take it to practice, its just 16ths then 8ths.
I've got no real advice for the rest except to use the hammer ons in in the belly of a shark. Take the solo to practice, put ito n slow, and you'll see the solo is a VERY easy pattern, its just like 343 343 343 with hammer/pulls.

I sorta tap the intro. I put my right hand index on green, elbow strum to start, and then just use my left hand to do the red to orange frets as if I were playing normally.

New PR:

TtFaF - 609k! 91%. Pretty solid run overall

345k before Synth Death, and 511k at Here We Stand is all I remember. I was just going for 600k, so I'm glad I got it! Changed up SP just a bit. Activated SP before synth death and went under the assumption I'd hit either the one right after Synth Death or the one right before Grinding Scales II. I hit both, so thats cool. Then I hit some more and activated near Herman's (or Sam's) solo. Got the SP before What The... and Twin Solo, nailed the SP in Here We Stand, and got the first one of rampaging dragons and just used it all there.

Wow, just checked More Stats and I actually hit 23/25 SP phrases! That's gotta be a record for me. Missed the one in the intro (I've NEVER hit this for some reason) and of course the SP in the red snake.

Going for Enlightened Guitarist (gold-star 20 Expert songs). I've done 13 so far, most recently Anarchy in the U.K. and Metal Heavy Lady (should've done this one awhile ago).

Good luck with the achievement. If you want to list out the 13 100%'s you already have, we could probably tell you which are going to be the next 7 easiest to get.

Oh yeah, also got today

Cherub Rock - 100% - 521k. First try, overstrum in the first long stream of notes in the outro, but an FC everywhere else. NOT going to be going for the FC... I just hate playing this song. Plus the fact that you have to play 5 minutes to just get to the outro.

Your next 7 should probably be:

Closer (easiest FC in the whole game!)
Reptilia (boring, but no hard parts)
Ruby
Lay Down
Talk Dirty to Me (practice part of the solo if necessary)

After those 5, pick 2 of the following 4:
School's Out (not too tricky)
Hit me with your best shot (just practice the solo, really)
Can't Be Saved
She Bangs the Drums

some options, I'll repeat what was mentioned and add a few more in case some of those are too difficult

talk dirty to me - this isn't too bad
hit me with your best shot - the solo is annoying but shouldn't take too long in practice mode
barracuda - absolutely nothing hard about this song IIRC, just long. gallop it, baby!
lay down - mentioned, very easy
paint it black - sounds harder than it is. some triplets at the end just be ready for it
reptilia - mentioned, just boring
avalancha - nothing hard about this song if you can do the main pulloff riff
can't be saved - the end is choke city I guess, but easy
closer - mentioned
minus celsius - if you can do the chord transition in the verse, this will come immediately. you'll know right away if this is worth trying or not
ruby - easy
she bangs the drums - just a finger-full song. if you're good at sightreading chords this is easy, but there seems to be no pattern in this song lol

Some more difficult ones that depend on what you're good at, worth thinking about:

If you're a good altstrummer, you can consider helicopter and cherub rock and hier kommt alex
If you're good at sliding around then prayer of the refugee isn't so bad
IMO nothing is hard about the metal, but I guess that depends on your HOPO talent level. Probably not quite there with 13 FCs
NOTHING is hard about kool thing if you get the strumming pattern down. Seriously, try it a few times. Once again, if it clicks it clicks, if not move on

3 new FC's tonight:

Avalancha: (426k FC) This took me WAAAAY too many tries. I blew at least 5-6 FC's on the ending in the stupid descending triplets. It was almost unbelievable how many times I had to attempt this. The problem was I wasn't going fast enough (I guess). Ridiculously easy song minus this horribly gay part.

Minus Celsius (276k FC) - I suck at those chord transtions that Octo was talking about. Took a bunch of tries but eventually had a no-choke run.

In the Belly of a Shark (328.7k FC)- took less time than the other two by FAR. The first run I somehow choked before the fast ending... I strummed in between notes like an idiot. Solo isn't too bad. Happy to get this out of the way

Other PR's:
Take This Life - 501k. Decent run, but could have been better without SP mistakes)
FCPREMIX - 315k, 98%, decent but had SP issues that cost me a lot. Missed a late SP and couldn't activate for the ending when I somehow hit the really fast strumming section near the outro.

Need to update a couple scores on my SH page, need to not suck on Before I Forget, need to finally get Prayer of the Refugee FC on the PS2, need to improve Knights of Cydonia and Cult of Personality (I've gotten 321k randomly on someone's Xbox but only 303k so far on my ps2).

Next FC goals: Prayer of the Refugee, I'm in the Band, Pride and Joy, Go That Far, In Love. Not looking forward to any of these!

ugh @ go that far off sync. SO EASY but I never FCed it. If you get pride and joy i'll be impressed. the rest you can do

oh and avalancha is a pain at the end. Those aren't triplets, they are 16ths but in sets of 3. exactly what screwed me up too, thinking it was triplets...

actually i'm in the band was a pain for me, it was one of my last FCs. came easy then, but wasn't even doable for a while.

seems you're pumping out slightly higher scores than I was by now, nice =) well a FC is a FC score = who care usually it's all in the ballpark. But your TTFAF was higher and if you even think about FC pride and joy I guess that's better too. I think I have more on take this life... not sure. gay transition between the off-beat riff and the whatever... quick 16th chord transition... is the only hard part of the song but comes up 4-5 times.

I've lost "TTL" I managed to get that gay part that octo was on about consistently on a bunch of runs, and I got a thousand note streak, think I was a minus 2, but now I miss it everytime. when this part clicks for me the FC will come literally the first try after.

I've nevr had any trouble with "go that far", I just stare at the blue's hit them downstrumming using the hamerons, pull off and strum the green without really looking then get back in time again by strumming the blue. I FC this song 8/10 (if not more)

Pride and joy only has one gay part for me that I choke on quite a lot, it's a quick Y R Y hammeron section followed by a RYchord. you will probably know what I mean when you play it a few times.

I should probably work on knights of cydonia though because I have had a -1 on that song for like 6 months, even if I just get 100% it's good enough for me for now. but thats next week anyway I'm still having a break from the game.

I wish there was someone decent that played GH3 around where I live I need another co-op acheivement, and it wont work online. gotta be co-op career, I only have 2 more cheivements left to obtain before I've done the whole game.

"Button Masher - win 15 consecetuve songs with a standard controller (fuck that. im just gonna do this with someone and get them to keep losing on ranked matches)
Hard Due - Beat co-op career in hard difficulty. (easy)

I've already done the easy/medium with my gf, and the expert one was done with someone good that doesn't wanna do hard.

Cyber: If you get Pride and Joy, I think maybe Down N dirty? It's kinda easy, easy path too. loadsa points there. but "In love" first though, it's weird seeing all those difficult FC's you have then seeing In Love with only 99%, I had some trouble with that stupid GRGYG hammeron section but that was it.

In love has some gay timing fast stuff toward the end. Yeah the GRGYG I missed forever until I realized what it was, just anchor the green and it doesn't seem so fast anymore.

Go that far I've never gotten through half of one of those licks. i've tried strumming every note, every other note, muting the screen, closing my eyes, paying super close attention, playing early, playing late, etc. I have no clue how it is so off sync but it simply doesn't happen. The rest of the song is obviously a complete joke =)

Just improved Knights of Cydonia from about 367k to 441k. Not that great of a run, but I don't care, it's an improvement. I hate playing this song. 99%, -17 I think. Probably loads of overstrums too. Probably won't play anymore today though.

Ah yes, FC'd Closer second try. The other FCs I'm closest to right now are Lay Down, Paint it Black, Even Flow and Avalancha. I struggle with Talk Dirty to Me and Ruby because they have YBO triples close to and around just YB doubles, which I've never really been able to do (TDTM would be cake otherwise). She Bangs the Drums has lots of odd chord changes and I usually mess up fairly early on in the song. School's Out is super easy except for the Y-BO-O-Y-BO-O part. Should be able to do six more soon though.

take the schools out to practice. Strum extra notes, ignore the hammer ons IIRC. Also notice Y-BO-O Y-BO-O you can just play Y-BO-BO Y-BO-BO because the O and BO are the same thing. So you're alternating between Y and BO, it's not so bad if you just strum each note or something.

I'm in the Band - 301.5k, 100%. Argh, damn overstrum just before the solo. This song really isn't that bad but I either miss something right at the start of the solo, or overstrum like I did in this run. Right at the end of those descending 16th notes under SP... something's weird about it. Oh well, content with this for now.

Mauvais Garcon - 400k, 99%. Eh..

Cult of Personality - 325k. Could be much better

Still choked on some Prayer of the Refugee FC's... man I hate this riff!

Blew a pretty good TtFaF run. I had 230k at the first break, and 352k at the start of synth death, which is my highest, but I failed at the end of twin solo right before the GYO chord of freedom. Probably only had about 500k here, so not sure if it woulda beaten my 609k run. I've lost count of how many times I've 5-starred this song, so it's nice that I'm pretty consistent.

100%: 41
FC: 38 (Cherub, The Band, Seeker)

All right, FC'd School's Out and Hit Me With Your Best Shot (thanks for the help, guys). Looked into Can't Be Saved and I should be able to do that. It's similar to My Name is Jonas, just more chords and less hammer-ons.

take the last 1:00 to practice mode to get the triplets and the outro riff down before you start to FC the song. The first 2:00 is nothing to play basically.

In Love - 278,962 - FC. Took a weird part into practice mode - the SP that has that double blue at the end. Once I realized the first was a hammer on, I got the FC first try. Still annoying

Down 'N Dirty - 421,879. 99%, -7 maybe. Really only one horrible miss in the song that caused me to miss like 7 notes in a row, but this song shouldn't be too bad to FC.

The Way It Ends - 482,937. Bad

My Curse - 373,378. 99%, first try, lots of random misses in the riffs.

Looks like you're almost at mine No doubt will pass once you do all the songs.

My curse is easy once you get the riff down. I recommend downstrumming the entire verse section. Also for the 16th note hammer on from red that starts the riff where most mistakes are, I often move my index up to red. A quick hammer from index to middle is way more consistent than from middle to ring.

down n dirty impressive that solo A is a bitch. Guess the rest of the song is easy enough. Can't imagine FCing solo A though its just so fucked up

I played aerosmith. so much for the break. got a few more FC's, it leave only 9 more til a full game FC, I can FC another 6 more fairly easy. but those last 3 are gonna be tough

Walk This Way (rundmc)
Train kept a rollin
Back in the saddle.

I "WILL" be getting the full game FC though

Noob question: how do you unlock the 6 songs called "Quickplay exclusives" on Scorehero?

Unlock all songs cheat.

dont use the cheat "unlock everything" just songs. thats how 99% of people do it who havn't got a co-op partner which is the legit way to unlock them. Just go to gamefaqs or scorehero for the cheat.

Or play through co-op career, wabs.
nothin' moves me more than a groove that soothes me
nothin' soothes me more than a groove that boosts me
nothin' boosts me more, or suits me beautifully
there's nothin' you can do to me; stab me, shoot me

Ok. Do you just need to beat co-op carrer to unlock all 6 songs? No need to play in Expert? I'd rather not use a cheat code if it's possible. ^^

Anyway, I just beat TTFAF for the very first time in Hard mode (don't laugh!).
I still have two things left in Hard: Lou and Take this Life, which I find harder than TTFAF. Any tips my friends?

FCPREMIX - 337k, solid run, but still dont have a run where I hit all the SPs.

Prayer of the Refugee - FC - 368,750. FINALLY! Man that chord change is annoying, I finally figured out a strategy where I simply leave my ring finger on yellow when making the GY to YO quick transition and just stretch to orange with my pinky. Never playing this damn song again

Down 'N Dirty - 423,815. 99%. Man, I've gotten Solo A a few times and choked later, but Solo A is definitely where the rough part is at. I devised a little strategy where I anchor down green for the tough part while the rest of my fingers run wild... but I usually mess up right before this transition. This score is pretty good, but I should get this one eventually. Also had a 100% run (overstrum in A) where I choked in the outro!

Nothing for me Here - 197,948. A less embarrassing score, but still riddled with mistakes.

Go That Far - FC - 215,708. Wow! Fuck this song! No strategy seemed to be working for the GG-BB frenzy until finally I figured a consistent way. I start with two quick downstrums on blue, and basically downstrum every strum note, hammering-on and pulling-off when necessary. I focus my eyes ONLY on the upcoming strum notes and the ho/po's just get hit naturally.

Raining Blood - 256,942. A pretty good run up until the chords before the flood, and then it all went downhill. Managed to get the SP in the flood but it was all just a mess afterwards. I tap a lot of this, but nothing seemed to be hitting on this run... I'm upset I blew off probably 10-15k points.

100%:44 of 70
FCs:41 of 70
Total Score:23,107,519
Overall Rank:117th

Getting up there!

EDIT March 9th:

Wow, fingers are cramping up.

3's and 7's - FC - 399k. Oh my lord, this took me like 40 minutes of straight playing. TONS of FC's up until that horrifically gay "swing" stuff before the outro. Took awhile to figure out how to hammer on with breaking combo, then the quicker strumming parts with the rapid chord changes cost me several FC's. On this run, SP accidentally went off at a bad time in the Swing area, so I lost a good 4k probably from this accident. I don't care though, I hate playing this song. FC 42.

The Way It Ends - 501,954. Hooray.... ehh... still needs improving

Also had a crappy TtFaF run that was 566k, and my multiplier was 2.800. 4-stars!

Potr - 370,354, got a double squeeze but dropped some fucking ticks. Also, thought I'd take sfa3 to practice mode and see if I could hit the red snake on slowest. After 15 minutes I can now hit it on slow.

DUN! Couldnt believe my eyes when I hit the last note.... I beat it that's all that matters, although i didn't tap the start so I can't upload my score. i cheated with the rubber band. but now I can do it, i doubt it will take me long at all to beat it again now..

lookin forward to playing you flash.. and talking to you for that matter anyway, doubt i can do it tonight though because gotta sleep early, and my fingers are absolultely killing me, was pointing a patio today and my fingertips are bleeding because i am too proud to wear gloves.

My best streak was 109, I think I hit like 13 SP phrases, I know my AVG multiplier was like 1.5...so yeah, a little better. Maybe I'll try to beat Jordan before I try 5-starring this...

Nice Kingpin, but there's only 25 sp phrases in ttfaf. It's a glitch on the wii and I think PS2? That says there's more. How it works is that the sp phrases you missed gets added onto the total amount of sp phrases in the song. It's quite strange actually.

hehe Kingpin, I kinda remember when you beat TtFaF the first time and I was talking to you on AIM and such.

Anyway, no Guitar Hero for me for at least 3 weeks since it's back at home while I finish up college. My best PR on ttfaf is 612k. Can't remember if I ever posted that. Also got about 529k on The Way It Ends on a run where I really sucked horribly on the latter half of the song. And I think I got 523k on Take This Life. -4 maybe, but not that amazing of a run. Bad misses under SP.
