Finally took a shot at Before I Forget and actually passed it without too much trouble. I figured it would take a while, but only took a bit of practicing, mostly the main chorus. I then redid Cult of Personality for career mode. On to tier 8!

FC #20 - Helicopter - 349,918
Not perfect, but it'll do. Can't see me playing this again any time soon.

FC #21 - Talk Dirty To Me - 340,619
I'm ashamed to say this took almost an hour. I really, really hate this song.

And I'm up to 330k on Pride and Joy, but I don't think it'll be good enough. Guess I'll have to play it some more.

FC #22 - Sunshine of your Love - 262,203
I hate this also. No way I can get better with a broken whammy.

Number of the Beast - 558,883
I can can push this to 565k, maybe 570k, but that's about it.

fc'd Sabotage & miss murder, but Miss Murder was during a pro-faceoff. so.... im not sure if I should put it into scorehero as an FC.

Before I forget, was aiming for 500k or over. ended up with 480k not too bad I suppose at least it's a top 100 score.

I moved up about 35 ranks today with various PR's... still 150+ ranks behind octo though. I fall at 190th now.

Most of my scores still suck though, I am pretty sure I can get into the top 100 with little effort. it's just time consuming for me at the mo.

I don't know what happened to my ttfaf capabilities... i used to breeze through it after the intro.. not it's opposite I breeze through the intro but struggle with the rest of the song.. LUCKILY I have got it now. i can now beat ttfaf again with ease.

I got a million -1's on even flow.. I am going to go back to it when I got a clear head.

my, My curse scores is 311k which I thought was a good run but it's still not a top 100 score. so im going to be trying to improve that... my score sky rocketed from what it was before as soon as I got a hang of that double yellow or blue, then a hammeron section which is scattered evenly across the first half of the song.

gj Blue Lightning.. You only have Raining Blood to pass now and then you will have got the setlist down......
One/Cliffs of Dover/Number of the Beast will probably still take you a few tries though.. or way more than a few infact. but Raining Blood is a cunthole

Bulls on Parade FC 278,939
Holiday in Cambodia ~300K
Cherub Rock ~454K

Cherub seems like a FC piece I can do. Too bad I'm prone to stupid mistakes and can't do quick alternating taps (see the solo with the 3-4-3-4-5 tapping).

Passed Cliffs of Dover somehow. I couldn't do any part of the song consistently but manage to get through without any star power at all. I'm still not sure how I pulled it off. I went through basically the entire song in the red.

Passed #otB. Wasn't too hard once I got the intro down. Some SP for the solo and I was good to go. Although I found the song really awkward throughout, very difficult to hold a combo.

FC #23 - Hit Me With Your Best Shot - 207,500
Didn't take too long, and I'm happy with it. As always, can't do better with current guitar.

FC #24 - She Bangs The Drums - 306,412
Got -1 months ago, finally went back to finish it off. Again, can't do better with my guitar.

FC #25 - Paranoid - 344,968
Practiced the solo a bit then nailed this. Had to FC twice more to beat Octo. Don't think I could get Cyber with my guitar. Activations and whammying were meh.

Pride and Joy - 344, 835
I was aiming for 340k, so I should be happy... but I'm not. I could go quite a bit better here, but there's too many places I screw up. Hopefully this is good enough to get through to the 4th round of the LL tourney. If I do get there, this is who I get to be crushed by:

http://www.scorehero.com/scores.php?user=4331&group=4&game=8&diff=4

See now why I'm fucked, Octo? =(

FC #26 - Mauvais Garcon - 425,664
Fuuuuuck. That's all I can say. I should be happy, but bleh. I got this first try after practicing the Outro and was so happy - but I knew I could do better with the right activations, so I spent the next 45 minutes trying to pull it off and I just couldn't FC it again.

Ugh.

Nice stuff.. mauvais garcon so many people have FCed and I don't understand, must just be doing something wrong with the chord changes as I just break combo like mad there in the 5 times I've played it =).

I'd be tempted to go get a good score on #otB, as I think I could move from 540 to like 580 if I could EVER get the single note riff down in the verses that starts with a quick hammer on!

And yeah, that guy wins the tournament no matter what, he's the one who is hosting it I assume?  haha.

I'd never pay money for a tab software that tells you if you're doing it right.  Guitar should be about expression and if you can't change the music you play whats the point, I prefer using powertab (which does.. basically the same thing as that, but even better) and then playing along with songs or something, and is.. free!

Not sure how much I'll play this week, maybe a few times but I'm really stoked for brawl now

Well it is retarded timing, so.

He's not the one hosting. In fact, he's not even an LLer. He's the brother of an LLer, and he's signed in to the site once or twice before, so apparently that makes it ok to compete. *rolls eyes*

Looks like a... full combo score!

BUT ITS FUCKING NOT.  FUCK THIS GAME TO ETERNAL DAMNATION.  WHAT THE FUCK?!?!  NOTE STREAK 958.  Thats right, 9 hundred fucking 58, theres 961 notes in the fucking song.  Apparently 2 3 2 3 2 [34] is too hard to do?!?!  Seriously, I'd kill somebody if they were here right now.  It was the first run of the day, caked it all the way to the end.  Now I've been playing 45 minutes and I have gotten the 111111 [chord] THREE TIMES, so I give up I can't even listen to this god damn song again.

441K knights - meh, thought I had 430 but I had 438 - what a waste of time!  I nailed the 2nd tremolo section, but reaaaally suck on the 1st/3rd one (the one with HOPOs and 4 note patterns, ugh).  Not sure how I'm losing 70K here, I can't imagine my SP is bad....  must really just add up when you exit the tremolos into holds on a miss instead of 4x.

520K stricken - wheeeee, though this is the first I DIDN'T nail the 1st/3rd part of the solo, I FCed the rest (obv not the middle of the solo, hehe).  I could probably get a few more points out of this, but I'm too inconsistent at the end of this level to keep trying it

575K number of the beast - I figured out how to get that single note HOPO riff in the middle of the verses.  I downstrum them!  So I altstrum until that stupid thing comes up and quickly switch to downstrum.  This run was actually pretty good - 2 distinct errors in the intro (7K), didn't whammy a lot on the 6th phrase (2K), messed up in the pre-solo (4K), then 79% solo 1 is pretty standard, 100% solo bridge, and 99% solo 2 - I messed up that part in the 252252252 HOPO toward the end, and in fact I usually get that part, but I did nail the HOPO section right before it so that makes up for it.  Still, a (3K) mistake.  Then I FCed out the song.  Looks like I could hit 590K without adjusting my SP to hit the solo 1, so I don't see much point here - I'd go for it if I could get 600K but I think for the time being that is simply out of my reach!

I'm up to 22,314,000 and back to 33rd on Wii after falling to 38th in my time off.  Cool!

I'm still pretty upset about 3s and 7s, but thats okay, I guess I'll nail it sometime as I continue to improve my accuracy in this game.  My left wrist REALLY hurts and I've been putting off a lot of schoolwork, so I'm gonna put the Gh3 in the box now and see how long it lasts in the closet.

Never made it to the box!  God I'm addicated

FC #33 Cherub Rock - 324,122
First attempt in a few weeks, pretty happy I didn't choke this ending!  Moderate score for not knowing the exact activation spots.

387,200 Mauvais Garcon
-4, and some overstrums in the outro.  Like 7K for 3 of those mistakes, then the outro must be losing like 35K lol.  Held a few 400 note combos, but FCing is out of the question for the time being.

** 6 attempts that net me -1 to -3s on 3s and 7s.  I've got the outro down a bit better now, as well as the 111111[], but couldn't pull this one off yet.

** 3 attempts on Before I Forget each had 1 to 3 mistakes as well, this should take me a bit longer than 3s and 7s..  doable though, now that I downstrum a bit more its more consistent and I get more whammy time in.

** 1st attempt on Helicopter I got -1 at the very start of the outro.  Unfortunately I'm not good enough at the chord changes in the rest of the song to give this a real push, and gave up after about 10 minutes.

I'm getting a BIT more consistent in My Curse, however am not near the realm of going for FCs on this track yet.

If Brawl weren't coming out, I've been thinking about levels I'd like to FC and know I could do:

Rock n Roll All Night (-6 were all in a row in basically sightread, not a hard part just strum knowledge) 8/10 difficulty for me
The Seeker (2 mistakes in spots I have obviously hit before) 6/10
Same Old Song and Dance (have hit all parts independently, and only 3 are actually a problem - would need pratice) 8/10
Welcome to the Jungle (only part I haven't hit is the fast HOPO, but I've never actually looked at what is going on either - I saw skater hit in a PFO together, so no offense but I think I could do it too then =)) 7/10
Before I Forget (see above.. getting there) 4/10
Stricken (LOL I KNOW, but the only part I haven't hit is the middle of the solo, which is tapable without ANY strums around it, so theoretically I'd just stare at my guitar in which case I have extensive tapping experience) 10/10
3s and 7s (yup..) 2/10
Helicopter (yup...) 3/10
In the Belly of a Shark (only hard part is that HOPO weird 2 note solo, which is just strum timing that I'd have to study) 7/10
Go that far (FC it every time except the main riff, which I can often hold combos through) 6/10
Hier Kommt Alex (tremolo isn't that bad, its the part RIGHT after it) 8/10
In Love (multiple times to the outro in the past) 5/10
Mauvais Garcon (just the outro to pratice, then getting used to the strumming a bit more) 7/10
My Curse (I'm like 70% on that riff, but when it shows up 10 times...) 7/10
Prayer of the Refugee (this is a 1 riff song which I just need to learn) 4/10

That's just what I see in theoretics, and is 48 FCable songs.  I think Stricken is the only real stretch up there, but what fun is a list like this if you can't stretch =).

I'm only actually planning on trying a few of those with any seriousness, I'd like to have 35 to have half of the game FCed.

FC #34, Prayer of the Refugee 367,594
I was really loose on my activations, looks like I was one "note" away from neo.  I used 2-2-4-S1 path, but didn't look up exactly where to use it, I think I had a few dead spot runs when I could have had more points.  No biggie.  This was really easy, the main riff I got immediately, however I'm only like 95% on it, and it appears what, 15 or 18 times in the track?  So yeah, it took about 5 tries, one time I got to a 700 note combo (of course).

Go That Far 195,520
This was kinda lame IIRC, I paused midway, and accidentally turned it back on and missed the next notes, then messed up right at the end.  I'm a little better at 44 11 44 11 44 11, however I tried a few times to FC and only hit the sections like 30% of the time and theres 3 or 4 of them.  NO clue how to tackle these, I've tried a looot of different ways to play.  Most interestingly, the best strategy so far turned out to be muting the TV, which is when I got my PR lol.

Down 'n Dirty 394,xxx
wheeeeee.  FC to the solos, missed the first SP (only hit it once...), then did decent solos like 93, 98, 95, 100% or something.  They're really awkward.  Then I overstrummed once to finish the song before a set of chords (-6K), which is odd b/c I've overstrummed it all.. 10 times? I've played this track, even though I've looked at note charts and know what it is.  So weird.  Well, 400K in reach, probably 410 if I could hit that SP, but its not FCable even in my ridiculous list, so I'm not returning to this.

22,403K, 32nd on Wii.

Heh, I make some ridic list of 48 FCs I can get, then nearly get one not on the list....

Black Sunshine 273,096 99% -2

Black Sunshine first run of the day FC it all except breakdown (268K)
Go to practice mode, fail miserably a few times then.. it clicks!  Hit it 4 times in a row.
Next run, mess up breakdown miserably and still get 271K
Within a few more runs, get to breakdown at -2 (both during one SP :-/) and nail the breakdown, for a solid 273K.

Unfortunately, I haven't even gotten back to the breakdown, mentally tough going through this darn song with whammys and trills etc and the god damn 54321 shows up all the time and I zone out and forget to strum the 5.

ANYWAY, 273 + my mistakes nets anywhere from 5th to 7th on Wii with certainty, and I'm darn sure I can get this FC.  Would be neat b/c it wouldn't be fluke like black magic woman (but to my credit, I am about 50% on the oranges of death in my random playthroughs since then...).

I also played 3s and 7s and have been to the interlude a few more times.  Gosh I suck at it :-/.  Its the runs of chords, I dont know why it gets me.  I'm downstrumming so its not the off-tempo of it.  Ah well.

Black Sunshine breakdown is one measure a 167 BPM that goes 4 34 5 | 54321 54321 4321 543 54321 | 1 .  The 4, 3, 5  and 5 are strummed to start it which is odd enough on its own, then the pull downs are ridic.  3:48 in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITdSOvozJyM .  Overratedly hard, but the rest of the song is a landmine for mistakes also.

God I'm addicted again I have way more things I should be doing than this game!!!  AH I suck

Ok, nevermind, for myself I'm putting the game away and wont let myself take it out until Brawl is released.  Meaning, I probably wont play again until a bit before Infil comes out as a warmup.  I feel like I'm cheating myself walking away from levels without the FC, but I think thats the addictive nature thats making it take up too much of my time, as a lot of these levels now are getting really tough to go for strong scores and I never want to turn the game off on failure.  So I've just gotta do it!  Laugh all you want, but I wont take it out I promise

Forgot to post this much earlier in the week;

FC #27 - School's Out - 160,905
Quite happy with this.

From today;

Holiday in Cambodia - 458,624
56k improvement. Extremely messy, but I was only after some easy points here.

The Seeker - 312,234
35k improvement. -1 run with a fair few overstrums.

FC #28 - Even Flow - 357,332
63k improvement. Not perfect by any means, but I'll take it.

My Curse - 359,980
109k improvement. I can definitely get Octo's 365k here, but the fucking HOPOs annoy me a lot.

FC #29 - Story of my Life - 440,334
21k improvement. No comment, I'm just glad it's finally done. Basically used SP as soon as I got it.

---

That's a total of about 284k points from 5 PRs. Not bad, I think. Puts me up to 20,984,836 total and 314th on the 360. Just imagine if I ever learn to do One, Knights, TTFAF, Take This Life or The Way It Ends. =/

According to the FC list, Barracuda is my next easiest one, but I hate the 454545 bit. The Metal after that, which I don't think I can do. Kool Thing and 3's & 7's I'm sure I can do, and I've 100% Cherub Rock already with an overstrum. Don't think I'll be able to reach 35 FCs after all. =/

I'm doing well also.. i decided to just say fuckit.... to trying to five star the last levels and went for scores instead, im still getting 50k improvements on every level i play with the right SP path, and i'm just playing tonnes better.

I almost five starred the way it ends, but i'm 2k away... if I could just learn how to combo the transitions I'd be fine. and could probably up my score 50k from that alone.
i'm fine with the alt strumming now i've got that down

I also played lou on hard, and found that I beat him everytime... i was toying with him in the end letting him get me into the death drain part then quickly unleashing 3 attacks and still finishing him off. i did this like 10 times in a row. And then I thought... (I wonder how well i'd do against him on expert) and played him, completely annihalated him 3 times in a row. So i'm fairly confident about beating him every try now.

edit2: honestly.. about 100 people quit on me today, didn't lose a single match...

FC'd
miss murder
lay down
Even flow
Sabotage
Can't be saved

all pretty straightforward.. i'm a -1 on Schools Out though. solo2 kills me... anyone know how to do this consistently? i just hold down blue/orange together and try to play the hammeron but it's so fast. maybe HS doens't benefit for me on this section.

400k TTFAF aswel. the four star seems pretty reachable for me now, i just can't really be bothered to play this song that much anymore because i'm getting inconsistent with the intro again.... god knows why. hopefully soon i'll just get consistent and stay consistent instead of losing it al the time.

so yeah... the way it ends 5* is just 2k away, and then I keep seeing everyone with a Take This Life 5*'d and a 4star for the way it ends.. i also see people have five starred raining blood before the way it ends also..... so maybe I should give the other songs a try see how I do.

Over the past couple days I think i've moved from 190th to 150th and I only played through each level like twice, apart from levels which looked FCable, i just retried until I got it. I think Even flow took me the longest out of the rest. I have no idea why, it's an easy level, it wasn't even the solo where I lost my combo all the time, it was just... anywhere.

Edit: i've already mentioned miss murder and sabotage in a previous post.. sorry..

I have 17FC's so far so I guess, i'll try and aim for 20 for now. I am pretty sure I can get schools out/hit me with your best shot and "story of my life(grrr fucking -1 at the easy part at the end) twice i've done that now... easy fc all in all though it's just a looong song.

I'm gonna stop playing for scores at the mo though or the game will start getting boring, i gotta play a few people online or something.

5starred the way it ends...

held a 169 streak aswel, i thought that was pretty decent.... I suppose just playing it for 20minutes everyday really helped. I five starred it 2times in a row to make sure I was consistent really don't wanna play it 3x though it's too demanding on the wrist, which is the main reason why i'm so happy that I 5*'d this fucking song. now onto another alt strummy song i suppose.. take this life, im about to to for a five star for real. then that only leaves Raining Blood and ttfaf which I WILL get no matter what. i'm getting pretty decent at soloing now.

Mauvais Garcon Hard FC - 277,348

Took probably 5 or 6 tries.  Okay SP.  Would be good enough for 36th on the PS2 at ScoreHero.  I hate the singer on this song.

Random run:

In the Belly of a Shark19th320,585 (8.0)99%485

I messed up in the verse right before the big break when the singer talks to himself for a while.  So that was -5K.  Poor SP activation in the solo was -2K.  No big deal, but was pretty nuts to randomly fluke the solo!!  I tried one more time and botched it horribly, and thats okay - just wanted to play half an hour for fun, and fun it was!

Up to 31st now on Wii, and the 22.5M mark which I plan to hit eventually would be 27th.

Nice to see a top 20 score and a my 6th 8* score, too, at 5.209x I believe it was

What a productive hour or so of Gh3!!

First I played Story of my Life - I'd pause any chance and study the upcoming SP activations, and hit 450K.  Realized I didn't have time to pause and guessed a few and was unhappy, so I actually played this enough to MEMORIZE all the activations (rofl).  Then I started to botch it, forget activations, etc., so a frustrating 30 mins later I finally re-re-FCed the song for...

Story of My Life28th453,346 (7.100%935

So barely an increase, unfortunately with a glaring 3-chord activation mistake, but the rest was decent enough to walk away.  I don't think 28th is that impressive if you think of how few people actually study the chart for a song this long, but still a nice increase and to put away this song for good.

Then I tried in the belly of a shark and after a quick few fails in the solo asked myself why I'm wasting my time playing the song for 2 mins just to hope to nail the solo again.  I'm pretty anti-practice mode, but here I went for it.  Within 5 attempts at the solo, I found out that the solo is REALLY easy if you study the HOPOs.  I didn't even try to re-FC the solo, I was so confident in my strategy..  straight back to the runs

So I nailed it first try, but was late on the SP, messed up before the solo on my second try, and nailed it my third try.  I had bad whammy/activation in the solo and lost a decent 2K in points (more on this in a sec) and ended up with a very fast...

In the Belly of a Shark12th325,774 (8.1)100%738

12 place!!  So I check it out, and the next score is a solid 4K above me (something I would be *very* hard pressed to accomplish) so perfect!

I REALLY didn't think I'd get this FC so easily, but if you have any sort of consistency on this song except the solo, i recommend you go give this a go.  The 343343343343 part is really easy, its just a 3 hammer 4 pulloff 3 strum 3 hammer 4 pulloff 3 strum etc, a pattern thats hard to see in a quick go.

Re-FC

when you were young (rivalry record)
even flow (rivalry record)
mississippi queen (improved rivalry record)
radio song (rivalry record)

also 249K raining blood first try with some awful mistakes - starting to understand the verse more here, should be able to beat neos score eventually.

even flow finally figured out the solo, and the last activation was poor.  Still ended up with a good score - so i expect to defend my ground here on this RR.

I played 30 mins before bed tonight, and got a nice...

FC # 36!!!!

3's & 7's26th400,700 (7.5)100%961

I screwed up my first 3-4 runs in the standard verses, I guess my fingering was off?  It was never at the 111111, just in some chords.  Whatever, then this was the first real run that made it past 100 notes.  Nearly understrummed a chord run in the verse, and forgot to whammy the last note in the outro.  Either way, breaking 400K is a nice bonus!

Octo, i'm so jealous grrr

Neo, I wrote a huge post last night to you and i read it back it didn't make sense I was pissed again though. so i deleted it and thought I'd send you one this morning instead lol

Only hard part about the way it ends is the pauses. and for that all I do is take the time to let go of the strum bar let it go back to it's neutral position again and then star the strum on the downbeat, it's the same as the beast and the harlott almost but the wayit ends is just a lot quicker, I would forget about practice mode on slower or slowest, or even slow, stick to full speed and just practice upto the ambient solo I believe it really helped me but I never got it in a day, it took me a week of 30minute intervals, but i'm sure you would get it a lot quicker, my major weaknesses are alt strumming, but I've got them down now for that song.

When I finally got it though it was first attempt after a break so that might also help because I was just wearing my arm out because i was trying too hard for the pauses and it's really not that energy consuming at all if you play it right with a fluid strumming pattern, I could play it all day if I wanted to without any wrist crampage. Umm for the tips, I really don't know what to tell you. I learned the only way myself, and that was just the hard way and just keep at it, if I can do it trust me you can do it, just takes a little bit of time, it's a bit of a chore though that song to try and learn and i ended up hating it while I couldn't get the timing and strumming down, but now I love it, five stars are easily done first try now. I think if you don't mess up at all by the time the ambient solo starts if you have a score of 225k then you can barely make the five star, if you are not that confident you will make it you could always just restart and try again, but I highly prefer practice mode for this song because of the LOOONG intro.

Also pick up the first 3SP's which will be a full SP power bar anyway if you whammy'd and use straight away so you can get the 135 chord and it will just run out by the time you can get to the next SP phrase, you get a fair few of them come up so just concentrate on hitting them and using them where you can hold the longest combo.

Neo, I've lost your times page aswel. I tried searching under "neo" and couldn't find it I looked for all systems aswel but. can you give me a link please I don't know how well you are doing, I thought that you would have already had the way it ends easily five starred because of your marvais garcon FC and other sick scores that you posted about recently.

edit: there is too many pages to look through at the moment for a link of your scores already, I'm so lazy but I will end up bookmarking it so I don't loise it again anyway

edit2: anyone have any tips for "take this life" just for the five star... lol?

I've gained about 100k on Take This Life in the last day or two, so I appear to be getting the hang of it. I can't give advice as well as Octo, but I'll try;

I've found it's all about the strumming. All about the strumming. If you can alt strum at the right speed, you'll be fine. I can never get whole streams of 343434343434 etc, but try and get the ones with star power. I've never hit the crazy 33(34)32(23)(23) transition before, so don't worry if you can't do that. The two types of sections you really have to hit are the ones with the 123 chords and the LONG bits with just singles or double chords. They're really really easy once you have the strumming right. Just keep altstrumming at the right speed, moving your fingers about, and you'll hit every single one. I try and use my SP at the start of the 34 chords in those long streams. Try and get as much of the 1(12)1(13)1(14) stuff as you can, though I mess that up quite a bit.

Playing the whole song, I went from 250k -> 280k -> 301k -> 340k in less than 20 minutes, then got 350k tonight second try when going for a score for my tournament.

Octo, expand on my awful advice please.

And Kingpin, you do The Way It Ends for me and I'll do Take This Life =P I really want 69/70 5*

Take this Life: getting a hang of the 34343434 parts isn't too bad, I can usually keep x4 most of the time. This song is pretty easy to 5-star once you watch a youtube video and learn the strumming rhythm. Use SP on the 34 right before the chorus starts. I think it usually goes 25, 14, 3, then does the 34,23,12 part. The chorus isn't that bad, not sure why Octo has so much trouble with it. Just try to keep a steady rhythm to avoid breaking combo. Just don't use SP here since it'll run out too fast. Really, all this song's about is getting the rhythm. There are absolutely no difficult finger movements, quick strumming, or crazy ho/po's. It's just knowing the rhythm. Take it to practice mode if you care enough to really do well and memorize the patterns.

The Way it Ends is just Beast and the Harlot on speed.  It's the same 3/5 strumming pattern, just fast as hell. Make note of the split second pauses, and pause halfway before the solo if you need a breather.

Weee, brawl is fun! I think I'm done with this game for a long time.

I played for about an hour today..

One32nd569,515 (6.6)96%1248

First attempt, 18/18 star power, no SP in fast solo A.  I FCed under all SP phrases, messed up once before the solo...  Then I activated during the 1234321234321 543 543 543 part in the solo and FCed that.  My last activation I had no idea when to do to hit the final chords, so I went safe route and did it early.  I think those chords must be worth what... 7 notes x 2 extra to make them 3-chords is 14 notes at 200 extra under SP is just 2,800 points so no big deal, thats just like a standard -1.  Oh, I also messed up once right before the outro in that lick that keeps rolling down.  BASICALLY max for me, so cool I got it on first try!

The Seeker37th332,074 (8.0)99%N/A

This is pretty stupid.  I had an overstrum in the first tremolos and then -1 in the solo (wtf?).  I have since studied a note chart to figure out if I end on downs and ups, and learned the tremolo sections.  I have the first memorized just haven't pulled it off yet, its so trippy!  The rest of the song I FC every time including tremolo 2, so this shouldn't take me too long to get FC #37 on.  I just am tired of playing for tonight!

So I've got my 7th 8* score, am at 22,511,442 total points, and as projected now sit in 27th on the Wii!

79th PS2
96th 360
3rd PS3
27th Wii
3rd PC (close to 1st...)

is 205th overall.  Nearly top 200!  Well I doubt PC will count for combined rankings (unless that uses a guitar too?  I figured it was keys like a lot of other PC music games)

Finals week coming up, and I'm not going to take my guitar with me over spring break the week after.  We'll see!  I'm guessing I'll be playing this all next quarter too though, as I'm faaar from sick of it and have a lot of potential left in this game, and am back to minimal effort for my PRs.

THIS...

The Way It Ends29th500,098 (6.3)97%225

... just clicked!

I regularly hit 200-300 note streaks in the verse sections, and have a few nicks that still trip me up in the song.  Mostly quick pickup HOPOs to things.

I nailed most of the solo, including that odd strumming pattern and the chord solo, etc., and had 100% on bridge 2.  All other tremolo sections I had mistakes, but I FCed each under SP.  Missed 2 SP phrases which costs a decent amount of points, but other than that I doubt I could push more than 520K on this song right now.

1K behind 26th now, 22,584,xxx total score!  I'll get 23 million I'm sure of it...

Also, without checking that should put me into the top 200 overall, as a 74K point increase had to pass people on other systems.

eh, I'm in the Band should be a decently easy FC if I ever go for it.  I just played the song for a long time and finally got the solo down.  For some odd reason, I keep messing up the tremolo SP phrase.. measure 80:

http://www.scorehero.com/images/notecharts/gh3/imintheband_guitar_expert.png

I use 2-2-3-2, basically insta-insta-insta-wait until measure 131.  I only whammy a few phrases, thats why.  Anyway, I finally got an OK run...

I'm in the Band18th289,382 (7.1)99%372

I messed up measure 75-76, the strumming is odd and I'm only 70% there, so minus like 5K
I messed up the measure 80 SP phrase, so minus 3K on the mistake.
I FCed the solo!
Then my loss of SP cost me about 4K in measures out of SP.

So thats like 12K more, should be right around top 10 if I FC it, but I'm not going to go for it for a while because its pretty annoying and this took me since my last post basically to put together a run finally!

another 7*, and 22,600,000 breached!  Turning off the game for some studies...

I played a bit today...  Not very long on any level, would just play 4 songs or so on study breaks as I can't study for more than 30 mins or so.. so I sorta just alternate between games and studying all afternoon long...

Re-FC paint it black (rivalry record)
-2 a lot of times on aerosmith (all parts up to 80%+ consistency on - top of the FC list!), got a slight PR and the rivalry record
very slight improvement on pride and joy with a -8K intro lol.. just shooting for neos score, i'll get it eventually
400K take this life - i finally got to 4x in a chorus!!!  Still a long ways away from doing well in them though, probably about 50K if I got that down
515K the way it ends - just played this song twice for fun, 490 and 515.  This one had a baaad solo and outro, and missed a non-critical SP (ended up helping me out I think, in terms of path).  I had a 490 note streak ending somewhere in the solo.

22,660,000, 25th on Wii.

Not sure what it is about my playing style, I still *really* suck at TTFAF and cult of personality solos, I feel like I should be way better at those by now.  I didn't feel like doing any "the seeker" today, I think it'll take longer than I expect to FC...  but atleast the list is growing for things I can focus on in the future.  I got a few more -2s in "in love" there are 2 spots I can't do and they are very late in the song... kinda sucks

If you care, I replaced lassie with cooper from MK64.  He's #1 in total score (23,100,000) and #2 in the rivalry with a lot of sharp scores.  Lassie never finished updating scorehero page and was just a bunch of zeros anyway.

If not, don't replace the old file you have!

14thoctoinky275,6462,692 (7.2)100%910

Ugh, I was zoning out and forgot to activate the first SP.  Not sure how much it lost me.  So I gave up and didn't whammy the end either.  This was what, 3rd try?  But I've probably tried it 15 times in the last few days, and another 15 about a month ago.  I will probably not return to improve my score here, though it'd be a VERY easy top 10, as the song is a landmine for mistakes, so many weird HOPO spots that I've had to adjust my play to account for.

Beat Neo's talk dirty to me score, but didn't get what I wanted.  Left anyway.

I'm gonna study more and brawl in my breaks tonight instead of Gh3, so thats that....
Still trying Aerosmith every time I turn the game on, no luck yet!  Like 5 spots trip me up its hard to hit them all at once.

Five starred "taKE this life" it was really easy compared to The Way it ends imo.... I could proabbly 5*the way it ends much more consistent but, to learn the strumming rythm of the way it ends was a proper pain in the ass compared to take this life. anyway that only leave Raining Blood left for me to five star now, im gonna get straight on that case.... only a 347k for take this life but a 5*nontheless. so i'm happy. but scorehero is being updated at the moment and it's awesome now, because you can compared to other users on other systems, but also see where you rank in the world etc.etc. fucking awesome but when I put my take this life score in it just dissapeared, and moved me all the way down to 151st place, when i'm supposed to be 136th. grr hope it can get sorted lol

went for more points.. over the last couple days I far surpassed 20million without realising it. moved from 150th or so to 123rd.. there are still an insane amount of songs that I can pick up easy 20k here and 20k there. but i was trying ttfaf today, i can't get anywhere near 400k again, i'm getting on average 350k now, i must have had an awesome run that time. im too tired to concentrate on holding long combos though. I played "the way it ends" a bit more and pulled a 440k out my ass

also 500k+ on before I forget.
314k - Pride and Joy
260k - the metal (i can sooo easily increase this but i always have to break a combo on the hopo's scattered throughout the song)
368k - 3's 7's

some recent pr's that I think are adequate for me at the mo

Before you get bored reading my post..

Does anybody have any advice for the main riff of "suck my kiss" that goes 345431 really fast HOPO?  I can't do it lol.

----

original post:
Wheeeee overall rankings!!!  Too bad the things I used to like to shoot for (top 30 on a song, etc) are now worthless, like what fucking top 200?  haha that just feels wrong now.  Still neat.

I'm working on Aerosmith still, and got 210K -1.  I messed up a really easy part.  Then I got past the tapping and INSTANTLY messed up, got through 95% of the song.  Luckily (?) I messed up again on the 3rd to last note (which is only like 60% for me believe it or not), so I'd have really been upset had I missed that.

I'm down to 4 problem parts, one of the little solo fills I'm about 60% on, the last SP and right after it I'm about 70% on, the tapping trill I'm about 70% on, and the very outro I'm about 60% on.  So thats what, should be like 1/6 runs to FC it, but I guess I'm messing up random other parts a bit too, because I feel like I've tried it way too many times to not have it.  Maybe those are bad estimates of my ability on those parts then...  I dunno, but I'll get the song eventually, I usually play it 6-8 times first thing, then move on.

I also am working on knights - I only get the first SP about 10% of the time, which is getting REALLY annoying.  I actually just FCed the entire intro part, and then somehow missed the SP in the hold notes (ROFL!).  Then the second part I'm really strong at, usually -1 or -2.  Only 50% on the very end because if I get off, I don't know what stroke to end it on.

I just had a 450K run but had -2 in the outro so i got 444K.  However I was -13K, then mistake under SP, and an *awful* 3rd set of tremolo (which I generally suck at compared to the first, despite being identical...).  I'd like to go for 470K here, but I'll be happy with 460s, as in I'll stop playing if I get in the 460s.

I played about 30 mins for a few PRs above, but they were marginal, and I'm done for tonight.  We'll see if I can pull this off before spring break, or maybe Ricky will be out and I can FC it when he is here.
