I think I'm able to get 100 yes. Why? Has someone beaten 95?...

we have a claim of a 103 by ArKiVe.
I'm wondering if he will have the motivation to record a world record.

The Ugenix hard sounds nice.  You can't really go and say it's the best story WR ever, since it's impossible to compare story records between games with any degree of accuracy.  The story modes on each game each cover different sets of skills.

TS1 is about strafing, and strafing similar to 1.1 Goldeneye(sort of).

TS2 is about effective movement, or strafing as it's sometimes called, but it's nothing like strafing in TS1.  Shooting accuracy is also pretty important.

TS3 is somewhat about effective movement, but puts a lot more emphasis on killing sets of enemies fast and doing puzzles and the like.  Accuracy is very important.  Strafing is much less so.

a few months ago, I would have said "bricking it 15.9" was the best world record.
and what about "SFTC 22.9"? it hasn't been beaten yet and seems awesome.

We're talking about story mode records.  Arcade league/challenges are a different thing entirely, even more so than the differences in story modes between games.

And Bricking It 15.9 wasn't the best record a few months ago.  I got 15.6 last February.

*COUGH*

Would be sweet if this somehow worked for speedruns: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMTKr3R-FVI

If I remember well, doing that would save quite some time.

Yeah, why not!

I had nothing better to do, so I finished Ts2 from a new profile, 100%, in 3½ hours. Everything could've been faster, but I did it mostly just for fun.

I played around with this a bit and unfortunately I don't think it can be used for speedruns.  The stage won't end when you find Khallos's train, and the reason is that not all of the level objectives are completed.  Switching off the electricity must be done before the stage will end, which in turn will trigger the whole protect Tipper sequence.  I tried switching off the electricity and then attempting the glitch anyway in hopes of skipping over the cinema that's triggered when you pass through the gate, but it didn't work.

Maybe somebody can think of something I may be missing?

I contacted MegaDestructor9 and he's been added to the site.  I also have a front page post about his new records.  They're all insane and it's good to finally get his records listed.

He probably won't be competing much beyond the stages he's already done, though.  He really, really likes playing Mega Man.

I'm doubtful about it.  Has he said anything about what he did different?  It's almost certainly fake if he doesn't show a full vid or refuses to explain what he did differently.

Maybe he found a lag reducing trick, on accident and doesn't realize it. Ask him to make a full video run of a time better then yours.

That score is cool I remember back when I was a noob and had the sickest run ever, for me at least, on big game hunt, the one when I got 93 which is my PR I think. My previous best was like 84 or 85. I was SO nervous at the end that I most likely blew 95+.

Question: I know I'm not allowed to have my 76 kills on I Like Dead People up, but am I allowed to have my old score (70) on the rankings? I had it before the new and improved proof system. Just wondering, not that big of a deal if I can't.

So, I just tried out the walk through walls cheat for TSFP and it's pretty cool. Unlike in TS2, you can also move on the y-axis, I.E. fly.

There's a room in the level Breaking in Entering where you need to protect Amy Chen with a gun controlled from a far away computer: this room should not be possible to enter yourself, but if you go there later on in the level (not sure if it works at the starts), with the cheat activated of course, there'll be a bunch of bananas floating around in there! You can't see them in any other way.

I originally heard of this easter egg at timesplittersportal by someone who was playing the game through emulator.

You need a Codebreaker disc and the NTSC version of TSFP. I have both burned on a CD/DVD. I think Codebreaker disc only exist in USA, so that's why you need the NTSC version of TSFP.

I'd ask how the new time saver works.  ;) It was a long time ago I played VB, but I'm almost 100 % sure such a time isn't possible with the usual strat. If it's true, I'd also say niiiice!

3 seconds? More like 4.1 seconds!  ;D
I had 1:35.0 at the time I posted my previous post in this topic. I was expecting a 1:31.x

At first I didn't think it was possible to blow up the monkeyhead, because the angle wasn't right. It looked right though, but I it failed to blow up 3 times on a speedrun.
Then I went to play on Arcade Custom as Edwina. She runs a lot faster, so I got to the monkey head at 1:15. I got the nades and started throwing at 1:27-1:30. After 5 tries I still couldn't blow him up, even though the nades ended up in his mouth.
I was almost positive that you simply can't blow him from that angle, that you need to place the nades exactly in the middle of the mouth.

I proved myself wrong today.

Yeah you're right about that, there's too many enemies and the level is over a minute, It's almost impossible to get a full cool run! ^^

The thing about that record is that is that it's a bit too good to make a picture believable, even though he was a good online player. The difference between 95 and 103 is huge actually. I played around with cheats over a year ago and got 104 kills after a few tries, so he could've used the same cheats.

Also, he didn't seem interested in doing a 95+ run on video when we talked about this on portal a few years ago or something. It seems like he doesn't care about it AT ALL, which makes me wonder why you'd try so much for that score. Even a 90+ run would better than just a picture. I'd say for the 50 hours or so I played online, no one seemed good enough to get 103, but then again, 50 hours isn't a whole lot.

Still, not saying I'm sure he didn't get that score, but it's important to be sceptic about these situations.

ah yes, it would make you win a couple seconds and kills. that still demands a lot of skills. even if the guy did it with cheats, we can guess he would still be as good as you without them.

actually Arkive himself never claimed this score I think, it was sharkgun.

I removed the WR post because it's just picture proof and was attributed to the wrong player at that.  Additionally, the player claiming that score has a sketchy history.

I very much doubt it's legit and I won't accept it as legit until I see a video of the run.
