New bench PR: 117.5 kg. Looked like this today:

20 kg x ~20
60 kg x ~15
100 kg x 3
117.5 kg x 1
105 kg x 3
70 kg x ~12, very strict and slow style

I haven't done 100kg on the bench yet but I hope I will soon, also trying to do a 170kg deadlift soon

.. and recorded some of my workout today again and made a quick vid:

Thanks Illu, nice squats!

I haven't been lifting that much the last two weeks, have been busy and didn't feel that well this week. For bench press, I'm probably going to focus a bit more on doing a few more reps at lower weights for a while.

Semi-incline dumbbell press today:

20 kg x 15
31 kg x 12
41 kg x 10
44 kg x 5 (my gf had to help me get the weights up)
38.5 kg x 7 (?)

Man, 44 kg feels huge compared to 41 kg, super heavy.

Push-up record is 75 by Fanny though I don't know how good is form as well as the form of all the others. I asked around for a pull up record but I don't think anyone gave me an exact number. Only Eise said he did 8 a long time ago but I've already beaten that awhile back.

I haven't tried pullups PR in a long time, but I know I've done around 25 with pretty good form. Not sure if I can do it now since I weigh a lot more nowadays.

Btw random insane fact, one of the strongest guys in the world, Kirill Sarychev, can do 12 pullups at 180 kg bodyweight.

Pullups are so freaking hard, I weigh like 87kg (192lbs) but I still feel I should be able to do more than 3-4 or whatever, I feel my strength and stamina there is not where it's at for pushups for example where I've done 50.

I think the 50 pushups at the end of my jungle 50 are very legit, not sure if I could beat that now, I've become stronger at the bench but not sure if stamina has suffered maybe from doing lower reps.

Deadlift 165kg (364lbs)

Was very surprised I pulled this since I have barely worked out at all for 3 months and I've gained at least 5kg of pure fat and I suspected muscle loss during this time aswell, currently at 92kg (203lbs)

though, right after, same session:

Deadlift 171kg (377lbs)

Maybe being fat helps that much dunno, the odd number of 171kg because my friend was being silly with the 0.5kg plates on each side. My PB from very early this year was 160kg so this was a total of 11kg (24lbs) improvement, I remember few months ago before I quit working out I could barely move 165kg off the floor lol.

Overall I haven't felt all to well lately though and I look kinda bad and I'd probably feel better if I lost a few kg and stopped all the sugar consumption and went back to more avocados and possibly some veggies.

But I tell you what, when I was playing football for Arlen I could do tons of pull ups! Must have been all the propane tanks I had to lift. :kappa:

Checked my BMI, I did suspect it was kinda bad considering I'm somewhat short.

Came out 30.4

30 = Obese - should see doctor to help lose weight and avoid likely health risks

I guess aestetically I'm kinda failing atm :nesquik:

I can do 3x30 of push-ups. I am working on being able to do it all in one go. Currently I am doing it with as little as possible delay I can manage between each set. The most I could do in one go was 50, and then 2x20 with short breaks.

Judging by the high score list so far this could be a new record here.  :pimp:

I'll get back to you when I have the footage.

BMI is not very accurate for people who've been lifting weights for a while, it doesn't take muscle mass into account.

Yea obese is an exaggeration for me, I still have much (if not all) off the muscle I gained the past year or two despite the big break from working out I had.

No real strenght gains lately, haven't been training as much. Though I have been using Captains of Crush grippers since august or so. Here's a pretty good close of #2.

Very long term goal is to close #3. It'll take years.

Was thinking about getting myself the Captains of Crush grippers awhile back since my grip strength was fairly shit and it really sucks to have shit grip strength for body weight stuff. Though lots of exercises on the bar and doing lots of hanging has improved my grip significantly.

On my end of things, recently decided to start a sort of hypertrophy/endurance hybrid of a program. Serious workouts are 3 times a week consisting of weighted pull-ups/chin-ups (~20% bodyweight added), one hand push-ups (might need to make this harder soon), tucked planche dips, leg raises, lower back work, some oblique work on the bar/floor and pistol squats. Will also do some trick work. As of now I'm trying to learn the front lever. It's proving to be a little tricky but I'm improving. I learnt typewriters recently which were fairly easy but I still do them sometimes to make them slower/cleaner.

On my rest days I'll just do 3-4 sets of pullups and pushups (~50% of my max reps) with each set spread throughout the day.

Would like to make a serious push for one hand pullups but weighted pulls and typewriters should do for now. Will include one arm negatives on workout days eventually when I feel good.

They're really good for your grip, I recommend getting them.

Seems like you have a pretty sweet workout schedule. I like doing pull-ups and chin-ups as well, but I should do them more often. Pretty impressive that you can do one hand push-ups, I could probably only do one or two semi-decent ones.

Yeah I might just purchase them anyways, they sound pretty effective.

One hand push-ups aren't really that impressive especially if you learn the form properly and get good at doing a couple. Under form, wide leg positioning obviously helps a lot but you learn to bring them closer over time.
I'd like to be able to do around 30 eventually, not sure what my max is now but it's prob nowhere near my goal. I'd usually try to max today but my more comfortable side has some wrist issues so I'll refrain.

Also pullups and chinups are fucking sick, should totally include as much as you can/want.

Tried to do as many muscle ups as I could today without rest. Did 5 with my hand slipping on the 6th attempt. Expected more but I've never really trained for muscle ups so these numbers just come naturally. Maybe could've done more with a girl peeking at my set.

Back + biceps/forearms and abs today so I'll include some pull-ups. Just tried doing one arm push-ups, could only do 4 with what I think is good form.

Muscle ups is something I won't even try atm, I usually weigh around 89-92 and that's too much for my current strenght. Plus, I don't consider myself flexible/athletic enough to do them. I'm impressed that you can do that many, keep up.

4 is really good since all you need to do now is just keep doing them. It's the hardest when you can't do a single rep of whatever. Just watch out for the wrist I guess. Good luck with your pullups.

PB'd with 7 muscle-ups today.

Working on making my left arm stronger as it proved to be a lot weaker when doing one arm negatives. Also, very pleased with my front lever progress.

Been getting my strength back. Dumbbell press (I was really bad at counting reps today):

Set 1: 23.5 kg (each) dumbbells for about 15 reps.
Set 2: 36 kg for about 8-9 reps.
Set 3: 38.5 kg for about 7-8 reps.
Set 4: 41 kg for about 7 reps.
Set 5: 44 kg for 7 reps.
Set 6: 31 kg for about 8 extra slow reps.

No spotter help.

Bench yesterday:
Set 1: 20kg x 25.
Set 2: 60 kg x 15.
Set 3: 90 kg x 5.
Set 4: 95 kg x 5.
Set 5: 100 kg x 5.
Set 6: 102.5 kg x 5.
Set 7: 107.5 kg x 2.
Set 8: 60 kg x 20 (close grip).

Damn, more sets than I thought.

Also, I did a set with the 47 kg dumbbells a few days before, but I needed help getting them up and only did 3 reps (last set).

90 pushups in one go is coming! :3c

I started going to the gym three days a week from January to build mussel. I am skinny as fuck and I need to bulk up and get bigger arms to look and feel more like a man. So far I have only been gaining strength, but my arms remain just as skinny. It does look really odd when I am at the gym though because my skinny arms look so disproportionate to what I am lifting and doing. Maybe I am a humant...

90 is nice with good/decent form. Keep training, you definitely gain the most strength when you first start. After a while it'll stagnate more and more, at least for me.

Another semi-incline dumbbell press "PR".

Set 1: 20kg x 20.
Set 2: 31 kg x 5.
Set 3: 41 kg x 5.
Set 4: 44 kg x 5.
Set 5: 47 kg x 5 (needed help getting them up, then did 5 reps on my own).
Set 6: 49 kg x 3 (needed help getting them up, then did 3 reps on my own).

49 kg = 108 lbs per dumbbell.

Strong day today, not counting reps properly as usual:

Incline dumbbell press:
Set 1: 20 kg x 20.
Set 2: 32 kg x 8?
Set 3: 36 kg x 7-8?
Set 4: 40 kg x 7-9?

Then semi-incline:
Set 1: 40 kg x 8?
Set 2: 40 kg x 9?
Set 3: 40 kg x 5-6.

Bench today:
Set 1: 20 kg x 20.
Set 2: 50 kg x 10.
Set 3: 90 kg x 5.
Set 4: 110 kg x 3.
Set 5: 115 kg x 2.
Set 6: 120 kg x 1 (felt like I could've done 2 but didn't want to risk it without a stronger spotter).
Set 7: 90 kg x 6 (extra slow and controlled, could've done a few more).

If there are any Strava users in the community we could consider creating a t-e.n Strava club which has weekly distance leaderboards. Anyone who is into bicycle riding should consider using the app. It is very popular among cyclists and is similar to apps like Endomondo, Runkeeper, etc., but more targeted towards cycling although many different types of activities can be tracked. Strava is well known for its segment feature with automatic online leaderboards.

I use Strava under an assumed name, but it still reveals exactly where I live so I am somewhat hesitant to continue using the service.

I was specifically asking if there was an Elite Bicycle Riding Ranking already going, since I haven't followed this entire thread.  Maybe interest is low?

You might already be aware, but there is a privacy zone setting on Strava which hides your GPS trace within a certain radius of locations of your choice such as home, work, etc., if that's what you're worrying about. If it's more about general area then there are some enhanced privacy settings which may be useful.

I think this thread is mostly about weight lifting. Notice it says Elite Aesthetics. Cyclists tend to have crazy tan lines and skinny arms, not very aesthetically pleasing.  :kappa: Anyway my bet is that interest is indeed low.

The problem is the largest zone setting still only covers my own home and no one else's.  Doesn't seem to help much.

Guys, does anyone here have one of these? If so, how resistant is it, or how reliable, etc? Cause I'm shit scared that this might break my doorway :(

Ngamer had one of those when I visited him several years ago.  He claims to do at least 1 pull up every time he comes out of the closet.

I got one myself as well, it works fine for my purposes.

I took the time to read the rest of the topic.  I enjoy doing body weight exercises the most.  Free weight training like bench press and squats are okay but I don't really care what number is attached to my efforts.  I may try to take a video of a push ups maximum, but I haven't trained them for sets larger than 10 or 15 for a long time.

Edit:

I have attempted both pull ups and push ups consecutively in order to obtain some baseline videos.  Put me on the rankings!

TheFlash - 23 Pushups - 19 May 2016

If my form is not up to the standards of this thread, please let me know what I can do to improve and make it into the official ranking.
