This Day in Elite History
« on: June 25, 2014, 12:51:56 PM »
Something new I am going to start doing for the board top until I get sick of it or run out of ideas. It's easy to look up the history of each day in the GE/PD world record database, but if you guys could post stuff like "Marc Rutzou completes times page and takes 3rd place on this day", that'd be slick!

Any and all input is appreciated. Just looking to switch it up a bit; the Facebook page is mostly dead.

Noticed this today, seems like a great idea, especially for those of us too lazy to go hunting for these things  :kappa:

Today also happens to be Ryan Koch's birthday! I knew this even before posting that stuff on the board top, but what a cool day all around :)

speedruntrainer, it's more like 1:04 pace

6:53 is standard for 1:09 pace, can get 1:08, probably 1:07

6:55 would be standard 1:07 pace, could maybe get as low as 1:05

6:56 is lower than that

Did Boss really get two untied records in a day in 2007 or is that a possible database error? That's when the new strat was finally executed?

Yeah, can't imagine not doing the dishes for 4 months. A whole mess in the kitchen, nothing left to put your dinner on.

funny story about that I remember, It was on PAL, and everyone said it was a fluke (pretty sure he skipped 54). Then wouter tied it on ntsc claiming it was cake on ntsc.

Dat mental block about pal being worse on every level, even though Jungle is clearly worse on ntsc lol

I have a strong suspicion that NTSC might just be harder to control but not significantly slower. I base my statement on Jimbo's NTSC 52, a sloppy 3:3 old strat run which wouldn't have been any better than a 53-ɛ with ɛ→0⁺ on PAL for sure.

I've been meaning to do Frigate SA lore next because that level is perhaps the most storied in all of Goldeneye.  So many insane things have happened since the WR was BBWJ 1:08.

Someone else had 1:08 iirc, not sure if it was old strat or new. Didn't Dan Cervone either tie 1:08 or get 1:07?
