Cervone got 1:07 ancient strat with Obj A up for about 6 seconds.
Eise tied it with a 1:07, the first WR with the new generation of strats, where he waited at the end with A up.

Alex gets 1:06 out of his mind, before raves were mainstream.  There is a 90 second pause at the very first bug throw as well as other extended pauses. He had 2 friends over as well.

Wouter 1:05 nothing special but it's one of Wouter's last untieds which is cool.

Boss gets 1:03 in fall 2005, no video made until early 2007.

Goose 1:04 proven untied April 2006, lasts the full year as proven untied. Huge gyp.  One of the most classic vids of the webcam era featuring CASCADA - MIRACLE.

Goose's redemption Feb 2007 with 1:02.  TNS though spoils it.

Late 2007, Goose fakes 1:01 among others. Clemens also posts 1:01 in the WR topic with no vid (a lie at the time.)  Ace might have as well?

I'm not sure when Henning "got 1:01 and then 1:00" but combined with Clemens' 1:01, Ace's not taped 1:01, the 1:00 worst fail in history etc, Frigate SA is insane.

I got 106 after being at a rave for 16 hours before-hand and being on about 5 different illegal substances. Dat first untied WR

This could be one of the best things I've read on the internet.

Wouters 1:08 had A up for about the same time. I still miss that old strrat. I betcha the wr would be like 1:05 with it, had other strats never been found.

I remember exactly where I was when it happened.  Laying in bed on my laptop in Jimbo's chatroom.  That's when Lockwood came into that chat and was typing up a storm.  The rest is history.

Not one of my favourite videos ever.  I feel it was overly sappy.  But I guess I was going through a hard time around then.  I'd spliced some vids in Nov 2007 and disappeared for a bit.  Plus school and everything was kinda shit around then.  First year university and all.  Came back with "Remember Me" ( http://thengamer.com/GE/22-Misc/Remember%20Me.wmv ) untying Silo 00A 1:27 and then a week later nailing Streets SA 1:55.  Damn I was good back then.  The video did bring back some nice memories though :)

I remember specifically I didn't post the record in the WR topic, just a link to the vid.  And all those clips at the beginning were meant to make the viewer question what WR they were about to watch.

Glad you guys liked it :)

Sappy and nostalgic are good! Vids like this are fun to watch. It's a shame no one does this more often nowadays.

Streaming is wonderful and amazing, but it's completely ruined "the reveal."  Before streaming, you never knew what anyone was playing at any given moment, so when you did get an insane WR, you'd spend the rest of the day making an amazing video to go with it.  Then you'd post the whole thing for the community to enjoy and be surprised with when they realized what WR you ended up getting.

Ahh, true. That makes sense. I guess there are a handful of people who still play like that; Jimmy Bauer, JustinDT, etc. Not that there are any amazeballs videos to go with them and they're strictly just the run. I wish I would've gotten into this many years sooner.

It was a good watch! Me and my friends got caught up in the music video thing, but we just kept switching intros instead of always doing new stuff.

Live streamed runs are cool, so are edited/music videos. As long as you don't add like 5+ minutes of irrel bullshit, be clearer on the point you're trying to make.

His 1:56 when it got released was the most insane thing a lot of us ever saw. He should have died twice at the end, possibly a third time if the laser guard reacted his quickest lol.

Agreed. Maybe the level is underplayed, but when I started playing again after like 6 years away from the game, most of times were 60-80 points, and b2 23 was still 90+

B1 SA has traditionally been a bit underplayed (surprisingly); I mean most top players past and present settle for 23 and then move on to other matters. It's a fun but rather troll level. I think most people who currently have 24 or 25 as their PR are capable of 23. B1 23 reminds me of Dam SA 1:19 which used to be worth 91-92 points when it wasn't even a particularly strong time, but every player moved on by the moment they achieved 119 since the incentive to go for 118 was non-existent (only worth 1-2 more points). At least 119 has been degraded lately (deservedly so) with more people grinding for 118.
