Holy shit Luke, that's the most intimidating list I've ever seen. Seriously, I feel like nothing I could possibly say about music could have any weight with a resume like that. I've only been to one live performance and I am too embarrassed to say who it was.

I shook Kanye's hand.

Why am I like almost considering believing this

I saw most known metal bands in like 2004-2007. Including some already deceased guys like DIO, Hanneman, Dissection. But I am sooooooo out of that business now.

Other than that nothing internationally known, just the coolest guys of german rap. Most notably a concert 8 years ago in a crowd of ten and already as a fan of a guy called Kollegah, who is now a platinum artist and had the most successful german YT channel in 2014.

All I can say is, Cara is going to Katy Perry this year <3

fuck I'm jealous.  My sister hates Katy Perry and since I have no gf there's no one I can go with.  Tickets for PRISM were $500 for floor seats (the only available when she came into Toronto) so it wasn't worth it.

I've seen:

Carrie Underwood (Little Big Town)
Lady GaGa (Kid CuDi) [the Monster's Ball Tour]
Brad Paisley (Darius Rucker) [American Saturday Night Tour, 10/10]
Toby Keith (Trace Adkins)
Erich Church (Colt Ford)
Kenny Chesney (Billy Currington, best opening act I've ever seen)
Enrique Iglesias (Pitbull, actually a really good show lol)
Carrie Underwood (Hunter Hayes & Kira Isabella)
Neil Diamond (absolutely killed it, amazing show)
Brad Paisley again
TAYLOR SWIFT (Ed Sheeran & Austin Mahone) [The RED World Tour]
Carly Rae Jepsen, B.o.B. and a pile of other pop artists at some radio station all day concert
Avril Lavigne & Robin Thicke
Fallout Boy (performed 5 songs at another radio concert thing where a friend had 10 free tickets, lol)
Tim McGraw (Kip Moore)
Jason Aldean (Florida Georgia Line!)
Eric Church again

I have tickets this year for:

TAYLOR SWIFT (Vance Joy, Haim) [The 1989 WORLD TOUR]
ONE DIRECTION [On the Road Again Tour]

I'm sure I've forgotten some other country shows in there but yeah, that's the general jist.  Brad Paisley and Toby Keith were both in 2010 and were absolutely amazing.  Kenny Chesney was really good too.  You can tell when these guys have done this for 20 years they are just real professionals and can always slay it no matter what.  I was particularly impressed with Avril Lavigne who still delivered an amazing set in 2013, well past her period of relevance.  Every Canadian girl knows every word to every Avril song, so it was a pretty neat experience.

Looks like I'm not the only Toby Keith fan in the-elite...

I've mostly seen old-school rock acts at the MGM Grand theater at Foxwoods (Biggest casino in the US)

Anyway...

Steve Miller Band
Chicago
Toby Keith
Boston
Experience Hendrix ( Was a really good impersonator that played all his best songs. He really killed it that night.)

Peter Frampton
Earth Wind and Fire
Lionel Richie

Dave Matthews Band

Slash (With his new band obviously. Still played a lot of classic Gun's n Roses songs though)

Weezer
Three Doors Down
Sammy Hagar
Lynyrd Skynyrd (Saw them on New Year's Eve 2010) (Listening to Free Bird live was amazing and unreal. Tuesday's Gone was amazing as well.)
ZZ Top

Embrace the grind.

Taylor Swift Speak Now Tour (2012)

wow I'm extremely jealous.  Probably the biggest regret of my life not going to this one.  This was Taylor at her peak of true Taylorness.  I've watched the vids and heard the live album but nothing can compare to being there.  Open with Sparks Fly, that fucking Back to December/You're Not Sorry/Apologize medley.  All those ornate costumes and sparkly, signature Taylor Swift dresses. Damn dude, definitely a great concert to have attended.

My dad works in radio, so I've seen a bunch of Latin artists live and met some in person.
I also worked in a theme park, so I've been to a bunch of those summer concerts they put on.
Shows I've actually bought tickets for:
Say Anything
Kanye West / Rihanna / some other local artist
Flobots / Floggin Molly / A7X (all day event with a bunch of bands)
Blue Oyster Cult / Aerosmith (awesome show)
Chris Botti
Wiz Khalifa (free for students)

Actually dated a Taylor Swift fan and bought tickets for a TSwift concert, but we broke up before the event.  :nesquik:

I don't go to too many concerts because I'd rather just listen to CD's. I have seen plenty of stand up comics, plays, symphonys, "shows in ice", other performances (Cirque du soleil), and operas.

Concerts I can remember:
Transiberian Orchestra
Rod Stewart
Nickelback
Hoobastank
Hinder
Chevelle
HIM - This was awesome btw
Garth Brooks
Trisha Yearwood

*Noteable* Stand up I have seen:
George Carlin
Jeff Foxworthy
Ron White
Jerry Seinfeld
Eddie Izzard
Jimmy Dore

I'll spare the boring lists of the other stuff.

Setlist.fm might have them if you can remember the dates

I like the cut of your jib, guy.

Radio Protector was my first 65dos love.  I had it on 24/7 repeat back in like 2005, lol.  It was their closer in the set I saw!

Mogwai is probably my most-listened-to, possibly favorite band.  Got a bunch of original wax from them.  I believe Auto Rock was played in one of the four sets I've seen (Mr. Beast is a phenomenal album).

Youse that's a really fun list, lucky you for seeing Jeff Mangum and Godspeed (If I remember correctly they toured Australia at one point but didn't play Perth or I couldn't go for whatever reason). Mogwai are a powerful band on record so I imagine they would be good to see live. Your post actually reminded me I have seen Pavement and Swans though, both good concerts - added them to my list.

As for setlists... I'll do a bit of hunting later today and see if I can find any. Just a bit on each concert that you mentioned though:

MBV I saw in February 2013 at a youth centre / sports hall just outside of Melbourne. It was a ludicrously hot day, pretty uncomfortable heat actually, but thankfully there was an airconditioned cinema upstairs in the ball room where we stayed before they played. earlier in the day I actually walked right into Kevin Shields and said hi nervously, he said hello back lol. Songs I remember were;
Only Shallow - because the guitar got louder every time that opening motif came back, and at this point I was forced to put in earplugs.
Soon - one of their best songs
You Made Me Realise - awesome live and has the "apocalypse" part at the end where they play white noise for 30 mins. ppl started to leave the room.

will update later

Pretty tame list but standalone tours aren't terribly regular here in Aus, most bands seem to do festivals which I don't enjoy. Here's what I can recall;

Muse x 4
Gorillaz
Radiohead
Coldplay
Franz Ferdinand
Ben Folds x 2
Grizzly Bear
Cake
Roger Waters

And Aussie acts:

Kate Miller Heidke
Paul McDermott
Pink Floyd Experience
Tripod

Missing from the list, I'd most like to see Modest Mouse.

Brian Eno visited Australia (Sydney) in 2009 for what was called the Luminous Festival. It was a performing arts festival featuring music, dance, theatre and comedy all hand picked by Eno. The whole thing ran for a week in the Opera House, and living in Perth at the time, I bought some tickets and stayed by myself in a 2 star hotel in the South of Sydney.

Eno did a few performance / interviews, one with long-time collaborator and Jazz musician Jon Hassel, a discussion on climate change, as well as play a long, free flowing, mostly improvised performance with members of Battles and Jon Hopkins. This along with the long lecture was the highlight, it was energetic, loud and had awesome lighting effects and visuals. The music was similar to his albums post-2006, IDM mixed with ambience with some soul and gospel influence I guess best describes it.

It was pretty special because I just wanted to go somewhere and be away from everyone for a bit (uni was depressing me, along with other struggles at the time). I don't remember a whole lot of each performance, I probably remember most from the long lecture / discussoon with Hassle, which if you haven't before I recommend you check out some of his lectures on YouTube.

This thread shouldn't just be posted with updated lists. I think it deserves an update every time an Eliter visits an artist, describes their experience, etc.

I used to have a list of over 100.  Mostly from age 17-19.  I'll see what I can remember:

Genre: Let's take everything really seriously and shout about it angrily for 20 years but at least it makes for a lively show.

Madball x4
Terror x4
Sick of it all x3
Hatebreed x3
Biohazard x2
Agnostic front
Lamb of god
Capdown
Knuckledust
Rollins band
Boysetsfire
a bunch more whose names i forget that try to sound like Madball

Genre: This is the music people on Sons of Anarchy would listen to so you know its legit

Orange Goblin x16 - The first time i saw them was at a festival of 99% late teens / early 20s.  They came on at about 2pm and there was this really drunk 50+ guy, moving around slowly having the time of his life, playing air guitar and falling over a lot.  Sums them up perfectly.  Fantastic front man.
Kyuss / John Garcia / Vista chino / whatever they're called this year x3
Hermano
Solace x3
Monster Magnet x6 - One of my fav bands but a bit hit and miss live.  Mostly hit but still.
Fu Manchu - finally saw them this year after being one of my fav bands for a decade.
Nebula x3 - always great
Grand magus x2
Black sabbath - brilliant atmosphere.  You could totally tell they had been together for 82 years
Clutch - played relentlessly for about an hour with hardly a gap between songs.  Powerful stuff.
Spiritual beggars
Corrosion of conformity
Dozer
Elder - Saw them this year at a big venue with shit acoustics and didn't come across well at all.  Let down
Sloth (the voice of god one) - I went to school with the singer's brother who went to oxford and writes for the financial times....the singer lives in a house where you can't tell which room is the kitchen.  Still they got signed to a legit record label and toured with Cathedral.
Queens of the Stone Age x2
Raging Speedhorn x2

Genre: Burn down churches and stab your friend 23 times and claim self defense

Dimmu Borgir
In flames x3
Lacuna coil (yeah she looked good)
Nevermore

This was a mini festival that i got dragged along to.  I'd never heard any of them before but In Flames absolutely blew Dimmu Borgir off the stage!  Probably the most impressive live performance I've ever seen.  Saw them a couple more times but then they started writing opera music.

Mayhem - I've never felt more out of place in my life.  Everyone in the crowd had long hair and was wearing black except me with a white t shirt and skin head and my friend wearing a blue fleece.  There was even one bloke wearing a full suit of armour!  Head to toe in a silver suit.  Imagine sitting next to him on the tube.  The singer then walks out and the first thing he says is "there has been a virus on this planet for the last 2000 years, and its called Christianity!"  Thankfully I made it out without being sacrificed.

Gorerotted - Hilarious song names like "gagged, shagged, body bagged", "bed 'em, behead 'em" and "put your bits in a concrete mix".  But I actually chatted with these guys for 10 minutes at a show once and they were as nice as pie.

Cradle of Filth

Genre: Regular people wont tell you to immediately turn it off

Nine Below Zero x6 - My Dad's fav band.  He's seen them like 40 times all around Europe.  Nutter
Fun Lovin Criminals

Genre: Cringe a bit in 10 years time when you post it on a message board.

One Minute Silence x12 - They were all about the pit.  They even had their own 'pit crew' - A dozen or so guys in yellow t shirts who would make some space and instigate some controlled violence.  I'd always leave with someone's blood on my t shirt and bruises on my arms.  Sounds bad but was immense fun.
Hundred Reasons x10 - all before their first album came out.  Turns out most of the songs I liked weren't even theirs.
Disturbed x2
Hed PE
Machine Head - this was great
Limp Bizkit x2
Slipknot x3 - cant remember coming away thinking anything either positive or negative about them.  A true archives 16 live band.
System of a Down x2
Deftones x3
Rage Against the Machine
Papa Roach x2 - enjoyed both, surprisingly good violence
Fear Factory
Miocene x3 - kinda local band but they're on alexa
Soulfly
Slayer
Perfect Circle
Tool - best bit was the interesting videos playing behind them. I like them a lot more now.
Blink 182 - yep that happened.  They were reasonably funny between songs
Amen x2 - awful on track but fantastic live
Foo Fighters
Lostprophets - got sent flying and lost my wallet and still had a good time
Therapy - can't remember a single thing about them but i definitely saw them
Weezer
Marilyn Manson x2 - lame crowd both times.  There were some legit impressive MM lookalikes though.
Smashing Pumpkins
probably a lot more here that I've thankfully forgotten.

I do like other genres a lot but can't imagine enjoying them much live.

Wow looks like I remembered a lot.  IQ 140+

Got a kick out of those genre names. High IQs always welcome.

Most of what I've seen live was at a festival like warped tour or mountain jam:
2005:
The Offspring - crazy stage presence, didn't know lots of their songs yet but a fantastic time
Fall Out Boy - back when I still liked their new stuff. The lead guy was doing 360 jumps with his guitar
My Chemical Romance - they stopped a set because a guy had collapsed from heat exhaustion and no one was giving him space. Also "Fuck the sun!"
Dropkick Murphy's - cool band lots of energy
Saw lots of bands on little stages but it's a blur: Paramore, Flyleaf?, Motion City soundtrack, fuck I can't remember.

Zac Brown Band - not really my thing but they were good! Saw my boss there too which was odd
Trans-Siberian Orchestra - they play and play and play. So fucking good.
Jerry Seinfeld - standup but dude is funny
The Irish Rovers - invited along. I know a crapload of Irish folk songs and sang along to damn near every one. Probably the most fun I've had at a show

Mountain Jam 2017:
White Denim - played while I was riding a chairlift. Really relaxing.
A bunch of other good bands
Head and the Heart (string cheese theory, nice)
String Cheese Incident. Phenomenal. Reason I went to Mtn Jam.
Tom Fuckin Petty. Same year he died. Didn't think much of his show until afterward. He was good.
Steve Miller/Peter Frampton - cool show. I still only like their mid 70s music.
Strumbellas
Shovels and Rope
Infamous Stringdusters - pretty good

Mountain Jam 2018 (last jam?)
Invited my dad along cuz he was in town. We had a great fuckin time, drinking free shots and $8 beers. Fuck.
There was one band that had beautiful harmony with one guy doing left-handed guitar. I'll find the name later. They were from LA. Met them too.
Yard Sale - four piece old time string band - so much energy. Met them too. They're from Kingston, NY.
Honeysuckle - stayed at the same hotel as them and talked to the lead singers parents haha. One guy had a cool Bob Dylan vibe going.
Stone Foxes - uh didn't really care.
Alice Merton - didn't like her at first but she puts on a good show and works the crowd
Jenny Lewis - interesting
Andy Frasco and the U.N. - funny guy, fun performance
Rag n Bone man - met the guitarist and bassist - lead singer has a legendary voice. Holy fuck hes good.
The Decemberists?/War on Drugs? - not sure who was playing since the schedule was off, but they had a good sound.
The Record Company - three-piece band - awesome, awesome show
My uncle was in a band. Saw him many many times.
90+ hrs into XC2 NG+, going for 100%. Be back when I get bored.
