KICKSTARTER: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/playtonic/yooka-laylee-a-3d-platformer-rare-vival

Quote
Playtonic Games, a new indie studio created by former Rare staff members, are creating a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie! The Playtonic staff includes the programmer from Donkey Kong Country as well as the character designer behind Banjo and Kazooie. This "all-star ensemble is aiming to build its debut game, ‘Project Ukulele’, into a worthy spiritual successor to those fondly remembered platforming adventures we built in the past." The upcoming issue of Edge magazine has an interview with the team, as well as a teaser image for Project Ukulele.

Playtonic does want to let people know that the game is in its early stages, but "there's a history of working with Nintendo so we'd naturally love to see our game on a Nintendo platform. If people tell us to make Wii U our target console platform then we've got the flexibility to do that." They will reveal more details in the upcoming months, and you can sign up for their newsletter here to be the first to read about them.

Grant Kirkhope and David Wise are confirmed on board. At least the soundtrack will be godlike.

Grant Kirkhope and David Wise composing together (*faints*)

This is a dream come true, ex Rare employees from their golden era making a Banjo successor, my video game wish has really happened. Definitely got to back this game!

Hyped as fuck, personally. This has been the first time in years a game project comes along and hits all the right notes and everything that is planned appeals to me.

Plus the music, good god the music

Gonna be looking for this at launch, looks awesome
nothin' moves me more than a groove that soothes me
nothin' soothes me more than a groove that boosts me
nothin' boosts me more, or suits me beautifully
there's nothin' you can do to me; stab me, shoot me

I've been burnt out on these 3-d platformers since the n64 era which was over saturated, but I'll probably be picking this up anyways
