Karl's REGEN topic
« on: February 07, 2016, 06:10:19 pm »
In this topic I will be posting videos of my REgenerate activities to inspire those who are currently less than generate but aspire to become more generate.

To start off I will post a house tour I made of the townhouse I recently bought. I will post more vids later on other regenerate stuff I do.

Hope you enjoy/get some ideas.

Cool tour video and congrats on the engagement.

Watching a movie while playing GE sounds like a useful idea.
Embrace the grind.

Karl, you are a true Rennaissance man. The townhouse is looking epic. The only thing about it that I didn't like was the carpet in the workout area, but maybe the carpet isn't as thick as I'm imagining. Thanks for the inspiring tour video.

Thanks :)

The carpet is not as thick as you'd think. Normal carpet has underlay underneath to make it soft and springy. This is just the top layer of carpet put directly only concrete so there is no cushion but it's soft enough to make using the ground comfortable.

Well learning to read fluent enough to learn complex pieces will take years. These days with synthesia it's way easier just to spend that time to learn the actual songs.

i.e moonlight sonata 3rd movement https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WolqGAgiolM is pretty easy to learn using this. It would take 1000 times longer to learn to read well enough to match the same memorisation pace.

Last upload was in Dec 16, 2016.
With what frequency did Karl say he would upload videos? Monthly? I had the Moonlight practice one playing on the background while I did other stuff yesterday :p

I hadn't made vids because of sleep deprivation and trying to use all my energy on practicing stuff (instead of making vids). But I fixed a couple of major issues so now things are looking really good. Will post some progress vids very soon hopefully. Have made some awesome progress, keen to show it.

I have left discord and am trying to avoid anything that is not related to my goals in order to try and boost productivity and keep my sanity. But I will keep this topic going as I really do hope that I can help/inspire anyone else here who would also like to achieve some cool goals.

Thank you for the <3

Nice, keep it up! :D

You can always just post a regular recording without much editing or commentary to make things easier.

Yeah nice, goes back to how I feel about social media / chat programs - they are positive in that they allow you to socialise with mates - especially useful for long distances, but they can easily completely distract you from anything else which is obviously not too great

gl with the goals

How much sleep do you get on average per night now?

How much sleep were you getting on average per night before (causing sleep deprivation)?

thanks

Thanks bro. I will do a bit of that soon I think.

SLEEP

I'd say my average sleep time was 6 hours. However my actual time would rarely be this, it would either be much less (2-6 hrs) or more (8 hrs or so) depending on heat and if I had to work the next day. Any day where I'm scheduled to wake up will be shit for me, but if I can sleep in it's ok.

The problem with getting too little sleep is that even if you get an ok day (8-10hrs) you still won't feel good. I think it takes consistent sleep with no sleep deprivation for a little while to fully recover. So even on days where I got enough sleep for 1 day I would still feel really crap. Being productive day in, day out was impossible.

Now I'm average at least 8 hrs I would say. On my days off sometimes I'm getting more than 10hrs. Still don't feel like I have completely recovered yet though, but my willpower has dramatically improved. Also, with a higher average I'm able to do more on days I don't get enough sleep. For example last night I probably only got 6 hrs, which is definitely not enough, but my willpower is MUCH higher than it would normally be so I'm still able to work on stuff despite feeling like crap.

I think the main benefit from getting more sleep is willpower and discipline. I believe that it would be physically possible to be productive with sleep deprivation however it's more of a mental issue. Willpower/discipline is extremely diminished on low amounts of sleep.
