My Top 10 In no particular order.
Having played a ton of games I chose these ten on a mix of how innovative, influential on my life, enjoyable, and how well they have held up over time.
1. Doom (I & II sorta the same game)
Since I was about 6 or so I loved playing this game, my cousin had it and the few times I would go to his place
we would boot it from DOS and play for hours. I really enjoy playing this game still and there isn't an FPS quite
like it with the same fun feel.
2. Goldeneye
Another game I played when I was fairly young, some older cousins had this and I played it and loved it. My
mother was kind enough to get me this game and I played the life out of it. Kinda stopped playing it regularly
when the Gamecube came out until 2013 but still an important game to me.
3. Ocarina of Time
This game was very influential for my life in many ways. One of my fondest memories was being given this
game as a suprise when I was in 2nd grade or so. Many hours were spent playing this and it would be
a crime for me not to put this on my list.
4. Super Metroid
This game I didn't play as a kid but after playing it, speedrunning, and watching people play this game showed me
the depth, complexity and timelessness that this game has. I feel like if any 2d platform has to go on my list it would be this.
5. Counter Strike (beta to 1.6)
Probably the most played FPS game of all time. Playing on various teams comprised of my friends was what
I did in Middle School, (along with RS lol) but the depth and timelessness with this game grants it a spot in my top 10.
More recent iterations sort of lost a bit of the simplicity of 1.6 so 1.6 still remains my favorite.
6. Left 4 Dead (1+2)
Well these two games are essentially the same since 2 has the maps of 1. Anyway, I played this game a ton in highschool
and made lots of good friends through it, and I was really competitive and was on one of the best teams at my peak.
Really loved the teamwork and general game play in this game.
7.Super Smash Bros Melee
Yet another game I played a bunch of in middle school with my good friends. Many memories from this game and it still
holds up today so ill keep it on my top 10.
8. Chrono Trigger
For RPGs there are not that many that I play all the way through since I tend to lose interest at points. However, Chrono
has one of the most engaging and likable story of all other RPG's I have played. Along with insane music, art direction and
just polish in gameplay this is probably one of the best if not the best RPG ever made. But that's like my opinion man.
9. BattleField 2 (BC2, 1942, 3 are pretty close so the series in general)
This game I love for how well it plays and how fun it is online. I think that the BF series is more fun the counterstrike, I just never
had enough friends who played this game to make a team or anything like that. Some of my fondest memories are playing BFBC2
with my friend who piloted a blackhawk chopper and I would gun down the entire map and rack up 5 dozen kills or so and get
banned (pb is like 105 kills). My friend Robert and I would be so OP we could win an entire match ourselves practically when
playing against 8 people or so.
10. Donkey Kong Country
Another game that I really loved on the SNES. I played this one as a kid and loved the music, art and solid game play.
I never owned DKC2 as a kid so I missed out on that, however as an adult I feel like DKC is just a cleaner game and
for me more enjoyable than DKC2 which feels less streamlined and not as "clean"
*Games that almost made it but didn't but I should mention them anyways*
Halo 1&2, Runescape, Super Mario World, LTTP, Kirby Super Star, Minecraft, Jet Force Gemini, GTA 3/VC/SA
