Rules (from 2014 & 2015; amended for 2016):

You earn points when a player on your team posts a GoldenEye or Perfect Dark time worth points on the rankings. The amount of points you get is the POINTS GAINED by that time, NOT the total points that the time is worth. There are also bonus points for world records or untieds. This means that the most valuable picks are the players who have the most potential for point gain and/or world records in the coming weeks. Trading players is allowed, as is dropping players from your team to pick up new ones. All these transactions must be documented in this topic, and will be applied on the Sunday following the post. Managers are part of their own team. They will be randomly assigned a draft order and the draft will follow a traditional "serpentine" style.

Draft Date: 29/05/2016

There are a number of concerns we need to discuss before starting the league:
- Reduction of point bonuses for WR/UWR?
- Further reduced point bonus for stacking untieds?
- Inclusion of LTK (idea raised by Boss and Icy, with the possibility of including LTK times with reduced point weight)
- Exclusion of Duel (it was excluded last year without disagreement)
- Disallowing more than a certain amount of Top 10 players on the same team

Really looking forward to this year's league!

My thoughts on rules:

I've tried to think up ways to include LTK in the past, but it's really messy to balance, especially and myself, Flicker, Boss, Ace, and others can get mountains of untieds. I'd vote to exclude it.

On UWRs, perhaps give a 250 (or whatever) base point bonus for achieving an untied and then add an extra +250 for every additional second it's an untied? That might be way too much, but I can't think of too many levels that abuse that besides Runway 00A and Investigation SA, but encouraging those levels to get optimized is also nice.

Perhaps also give a point bonus for being the first to tie an untied (ie: untied "slaying")?

How would this differ if all achieved times could be used for scoring (like dupes or non-prs)? So you could play every level within the month at least once, then try for better times on some.

Just throwing the idea out there! Maybe it doesn't make sense.

I'd use the analogy of that currency discussion we were having. There'd just be too much that the numbers wouldn't mean anything any more.

Like most top players or mid-range players can pick up 2.x and cake a 53, 22, etc. There'd be too many unnecessary numbers. Plus I think it'd take away from the original concept of the league, where it's meant to encourage people to get better times and for the top players to push the game further.

Answers to questions:
- I don't remember what the points for WRs and UWRs are, but I remember UWRs being extremely high. Maybe some stipulation that a person can only get one of each WR/UWR bonus per level during the course of the league?

- I don't like the idea of putting LTK/DLTK in this league, but I would be keen on a separate league and that would probably make me play LTK
- No Duel
- No limit here. That's what the draft is for. Draft order should be reverse rankings order.

I'm not sure if my memory is 100% correct here but I think last fantasy league there was a BUNCH of new strats there were discovered/used just before the league started. So people were pumping out easy untieds left right and centre. I think this time there won't be be that many untieds so it will no longer be a huge issue.

But seriously guys, untieds are AWESOME and pretty much are the PINNACLE of speedrunning in this community. So if some fucking lunatic goes on a rampage and gets 10 untieds therefore killing the league then IMO the league has DONE ITS JOB!!!!

POSITION ON LTK: I think the way forward (maybe) is to set forward a handicap system? Top 5 x 1.5 points.. Top 10 x 2.. Top 25 x 2.5 and so on adding intergers of 0.5...

As for normal WRs and UWRs.. im not entirely sure how the bonus point system works.. but i feel 25 for WRs and 50 for UWRs is more then enough.

As for the draft.. players should be "seeded" into pots..
So top active players are in pot one.. so its unlikley they can be teamed together for fareness, and so on for pot 2/3 and so on... all we would need is some one to obviously sort this fairly and grade a player to a certain pot reguardless of rank.

As for number of trades.. this could be limmited to a certain number per week.. say maybe 3, or whatever some one thinks is fair.

Duel should not be counted

Great league. It was fun managing a team and I'm really proud my mates did so well. Congrats to everyone else who made it fun and challenging as well, especially Luke and Karl's teams. Major props to dsx for organizing it once again despite all the drama that came up when the league initially stared. 26 WRs and 7 untieds in a month only proves once again that this increases the activity for both games. It was pretty epic and surprising to see Jezz and Wodahs do so well in PD!
